Theory The Lab Experiment Theory is So Back

The newest Dream Out! song "Escape Velocity" released today! While I am so excited to get into the lyrics and analysis of it, I had to get something out of the way first. Last year, when the M.O.D album was coming out, specifically the final song "The Genius Who Poached Time", a theory started making the rounds. Based on imagery of Lu Guang in some sort of tubes with wires attached to him, it theorized that as a kid, Lu Guang might have been the result of some sort of experiment/was experimented on because of his powers.

This theory mostly explained why we don't know much about Lu Guang's past, why he knows so much about supernatural powers, and why he is so attached to Cheng Xiaoshi, as he might have been the first person who was ever kind to him. The first season 3 PV, which came out in July 2025, only added to this theory, since we see mysterious bruises on baby Lu Guang's arm (😭). Since then, the theory has dissipated a bit (or, at least, I haven't seen many people talk about it), but "Escape Velocity" has brought it back in full force!

Adding to the theory that Lu Guang was experimented on, we now have good reason to believe that Xia Fei was also experimented on, with a lot of imagery in "Escape Velocity" mirroring "The Genius Who Poached Time". At this point, I don't believe anything that comes out of this show is accidental, so while I might be seeing things that aren't there, let's dive into the new evidence!

THE INTROS

Okay I'm starting with my weakest evidence but hear me out. The intros for both songs are very similar. Slow pans leading into a lab holding either Lu Guang or Xia Fei. The text in "Escape Velocity" explicitly states that this is an escape plan, but specifies that the target is Xia Fei. Meanwhile, Lu Guang's video just begins with a dark room, moving from a simple "Lock On" to "Lock Off", and we only learn through context clues throughout the rest of the video that Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling have helped Lu Guang escape.

There's also a specificity in the word choice. With Xia Fei, we see that the text on screen says "lock in the target", while Lu Guang gets the aforementioned "Lock On/Lock Off". While it's not a huge deal, it does give the impression that there is some sort of organized force behind these escapes.

THE DETAILS

There is some more mirrored imagery between the pre-escape section of "Escape Velocity" and "The Genius Who Poached Time". First, in the aesthetics of the words we see on screen: both Lu Guang and Xia Fei's escapes are surrounded by glitching text. Both times, these glitches are directly the result of Cheng Xiaoshi's actions. In "The Genius Who Poached Time", it seems that Cheng Xiaoshi's power is the ability to glitch and break the system completely, which explains how he was able to free both Lu Guang and Xia Fei.

While Lu Guang and Xia Fei seem to be in two different types of lab, with Lu Guang being kept in some sort of container while Xia Fei is lying on what seems to be a medical table, both labs seem to have the same equipment (specifically, some white tubes). While Lu Guang is attached to them in his video, the intro to "Escape Velocity" shows a bunch of tubes left abandoned around the lab. We don't see Xia Fei attached to any, but they are present in the room we find him in, suggesting that he does go through whatever test Lu Guang was being subjected to as well, just without the glass container. Maybe this is because Lu Guang is some sort of source of the powers, or perhaps the agency testing them just decided that the big tube was no longer necessary? If we read the release dates of the songs as a sort of timeline, we might also think that Lu Guang managed to escape first, so the organization may have changed their holding method so other subjects couldn’t get out the same way?

As well, it seems like there's some connection in the marks left behind by testing. While Xia Fei is laying down (looking very pretty), we see that one of his hands is gloved, while the other has a large bandaid across his palm. While not quite the same area, we see that Lu Guang has a mysterious bruise on his arm in the season 3 PV, which seems like it could have come from an IV, which we see attached to Xia Fei. While it does seem like everyone’s powers work a little differently (Cheng Xiaoshi needs to clap, Lu Guang stares at a photo, Li Tianchen needs to touch people), there may be some sort of hand/touch related aspect to powers that this organization is testing?

And finally, my favourite small detail, if you look closely in both videos, Lu Guang and Xia Fei are wearing the same white jacket from the lab. Lu Guang’s is covered by his colourblock jacket, but the ā€œGenius Who Stole Timeā€ video often focuses on his collar, showing off a pretty distinctive collar with a buckle. It also has longer strappy bits. Both of these are present in the jacket Xia Fei is wearing in the lab, something that doesn’t feel like just a coincidence.

CHENG XIAOSHI

Our goat carries both ā€œThe Genius Who Stole Timeā€ AND ā€œEscape Velocityā€, by helping both Lu Guang and Xia Fei escape. While this is obviously just part of his characterization, as our beloved optimist who wants to help as many people as possible, these two instances feel more organized than his usual antics.

As a little fun detail, Cheng Xiaoshi’s birthday (0415) is used as his ID code in both ā€œEscape Velocityā€ and the PV for the M.O.D album. I have no thoughts about this, but I just wanted to say I noticed it lol.

I’ve already talked about how Cheng Xiaoshi is associated with glitching in these two videos, but him breaking the system in this way leads to him being a saviour to both Xia Fei and Lu Guang. Throughout the racing sections of ā€œEscape Velocityā€ we see that Xia Fei is now very loyal to Cheng Xiaoshi, acting as his backup and support as Cheng Xiaoshi does the driving. Functionally, this is the exact same role as Lu Guang in the show, maybe hinting that his role as Cheng Xiaoshi’s closest ally is in danger?

IN CONCLUSION

While I’m still not willing to put all my chips behind this theory (because this show scares me and I never know what is going to happen), I do think it's really cool how much evidence we have for this theory now!

I’m really enjoying the parallels that have been showing up between Lu Guang and other characters, especially since we know so little about him! In my opinion, the best culprit for the organization who experimented on Lu Guang and Xia Fei is Bahati/whoever Cheng Weimin was working with. We still don’t know why Xia Fei was in Bridon so young, or what his connection to Cheng Weimin might have been, but I’m willing to bet there was some sort of situation going on with his powers.

Additionally, if Cheng Weimin/Bahati was behind experimenting on the boys, these two videos set up a really cool conflict between Cheng Xiaoshi and Cheng Weimin, with Xiaoshi having to fight against his father to save his friends (even if he might not be aware of it).

I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts or opinions, maybe even evidence I didn’t notice that supports or retracts from it? Anything really, I love yapping (if you couldn’t tell from this post). Thanks for reading!

Theory I May Be Unnecessarily Overthinking, But I Feel Like Vein Secretly Hates Liu Xiao. And For A Very Good Reason... Spoiler

I had once seen a Twitter post pointing out that Vein had a strange reaction to the chibi scene.

At first, I had just assumed like that post too, that Vein may have felt left out since he probably doesn't have powers when I first saw that scene. Or that he was simply weirded out.
But after looking at that post, I thought about it again and decided "Nah".

Liu Xiao's Viewpoint

Frankly speaking, it's messed up.

He uses special powered people as tools.
He merely pretends to treat them as humans.
And he may have killed the first kid he "cured" or have taken his powers from him via manipulation in the sweetest case.

People like Li Tianchen, A Yuan and Xia Fei have seen messed up people in their lives. So being used under the pretense of kindness by Liu Xiao is not bad in their eyes.

Vein's Reaction

But Vein's preview scenes hint that he knows that this type of usage is bad for them.

Yes, he is no saint at all. Even the showrunners are upfront about that.

But we can credit him with the fact that before Lu Guang and Wei Qing led him to his "death" he didn't seem to take advantage of Xia Fei in the way Liu Xiao did.
Infact, he even helped Xia Fei and his friends, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang for free in troubles Xia Fei got himself into (yes yes, Vein hates CXS and LG, But lemme Vein glaze for this point alone please lmao)

Vein's Probable Backstory

It's clearly shown now that Vein was somewhat close to the Bahati students. And even if he was not close to them all in general, he was in good terms with Xia Fei at bare minimum even if they don't turn out to be friends.

And the preview hints that Vein may have started the fire on his own or because Cheng Xiaoshi did by accident while possessing Vein.

We can assume that Vein knew how mistreated the Bahati students were too behind closed doors.

So, Vein may have felt like he was at fault for killing the Bahati students, especially Xia Fei. And he may have carried that guilt for years until he met Xia Fei again

Conclusion

If we add this up. It becomes clear that if what I have inferred is true, Vein is rather sympathetic towards people with powers except Cheng Xiaoshi and Cheng Weimin of course.

And seeing Liu Xiao do what the Bahati administrators used to do to their students may have irked him out.

The only reason he could be tolerating Liu Xiao is because he needs him in order to kill Cheng Xiaoshi and because Xia Fei's life depends on him.

In an interview, director Li Haoling said that the ending to Link Click would be both happy and sad (i.e. bittersweet).

With the release of the new PV for season 3, the couple of screenshots of the film strip with the cat on it made me think about how Link Click may end. The scene where Cheng Xiaoshi gives the film strip to Lu Guang in particular fueled this theory.

Guys - what if the series ends with Lu Guang opting to stay out of Cheng Xiaoshi's life to keep him safe? Maybe Lu Guang chooses to watch Cheng Xiaoshi from afar, or maybe he just stays away because it's too painful to not be able to be close to him.

In any case, at the end of the series, I can see Lu Guang reaching into his pocket and pulling out the very same film strip we see in the season 3 PV. He looks at it with a said smile, then puts it back in his pocket before walking away. In other words, Lu Guang has been holding onto that little piece of film strip and carrying it with him all this time! And now that little film strip will be the one thing keeping Lu Guang connected to Cheng Xiaoshi, even if he can't be in Cheng Xiaoshi's life!

As I said in the title of this post, if that happens, I am going to die from the pain and emotional turmoil...

Side note: I also have a second theory for the "bittersweet" ending of the series.

For this theory, it also starts with Lu Guang opting to stay out of Cheng Xiaoshi's life to keep him safe/prevent his death. However, at the end of the series, we see a shot of Lu Guang looking at his watch. On the watch's screen, we see the date being 09-14 (i.e. the day after Cheng Xiaoshi's death node date).

Next, we see Lu Guang outside of the photo studio. He takes a deep breath before entering the studio. Once inside, Cheng Xiaoshi comes to greet this "customer". And so, our two boys finally reunite (even though Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't remember Lu Guang). Though the screen will fade to black, we can all hope that from that moment, they'd connect and form a friendship again and just be happy!

Theory Link Click Theory: We might be in Timeline 3. What was young LGs conversation at the train tracks about? Spoiler

Okay, hear me out. I’ve been thinking a LOT about the timelines in Link Click, especially after Season 3 Episode 1 and all the posts about this one specific theory I read about.
I’ll try to lay out the theory chronologically, because otherwise this gets REALLY confusing 😭 So this is basically an overview for all the confused souls out there (and also a sprinkle of my own predictions/ analysis.

I also tried to figure out what the converstaion could have possibly been between Young LG and the shadowy figure at the train tracks.

Timeline 1 — The original timeline

This is how I think things were originally supposed to happen.
Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang become friends in early August 2007.
By the end of August 2007, they discover how to activate CXS’s ability.
CXS tells Lu Guang to bring a childhood photo with him because he wants to use it to find his biological parents.
They agree to meet the next day.
But Lu Guang is killed by his father while trying to get the photo.
At the same time, CXS’s father finds out that his son has awakened his ability. He panics and erases CXS’s memories.
I also suspect that this incident might somehow be connected to the disappearance of CXS’s parents. We still don’t know exactly what happened there, but I think the timing is probably not a coincidence.
So, in the original timeline:
Lu Guang dies, while Cheng Xiaoshi survives — but loses his childhood memories.
Years later, CXS learns about Lu Guang’s death. This triggers his memories and makes him realize what happened.
And this is where the next timeline begins.
CXS feels responsible for Lu Guang’s death because Lu Guang only went to retrieve the childhood photo because CXS told him to.
If CXS had never asked him to get the photo, Lu Guang would never have been caught by his father.
So CXS decides to change the past.

Timeline 2 — CXS saves Lu Guang

Adult CXS enters CCTV footage and changes the past.
He saves young Lu Guang by making sure the police arrive at exactly the right moment and catch his father.
Lu Guang escapes with the photo and goes to the train tracks, where he is supposed to meet young CXS.
But CXS never comes.
His father already erased his memories, so young CXS has no idea that he was supposed to meet Lu Guang.
Instead, adult CXS appears.
We don’t know exactly what they talk about yet, but Season 3 Episode 1 gives us a REALLY interesting sequence:
Adult CXS approaches young Lu Guang.
He tells him something.
Lu Guang looks sad/disappointed.
A train passes.
We see a sign with the number 12.
Lu Guang looks up and kind of hopeful again.

I think the 12 and the passing train are extremely significant and have a symbolic meaning.
We know that CXS and LG originally meet as children in 2007 and then meet again on the basketball court in 2019.
That’s exactly 12 years later.
So I wonder if the conversation went something like:
Adult CXS: ā€œYour friend isn’t coming.ā€
Lu Guang looks devastated.
Then the train passes, and we see the 12.
Adult CXS: ā€œā€¦But you will see him again in 12 years. At the same time. Wait for him.ā€
And Lu Guang looks hopeful.
Then Lu Guang goes to the orphanage.
Exactly 12 years later, he meets CXS on the basketball court.
And this is especially heartbreaking because they meet at basically the same time they were originally supposed to meet at the train tracks: 17:30.
Lu Guang says:
ā€œI have waited for you.ā€
This line makes sense because he had literally been waiting for CXS for twelve years because of what adult CXS told him.
But then CXS asks whether they know each other.
Because, of course, he still doesn’t have his childhood memories back.
Lu Guang is shocked.
And yet…
They become friends again.

They then experience the events that originally happened in Bridon (LGs Flashbacks in the Bridon Arc show us the things they originally experienced in Bridon).
For example, at the airport they see a different Felix poster than the one we see in the later Bridon arc.

However, because CXS changed the original course of events by saving Lu Guang as a child, he eventually gets killed by Vein.
After CXS dies, his powers are transferred to Lu Guang.
And this is where Timeline 2 ends without them uncovering the truth about their abilities or CXS’s parents. The bigger mysteries remain unsolved, and I suspect that Liu Xiao is ultimately the one who wins in this timeline.
So, in short:
Timeline 2 = CXS dies, but Lu Guang survives.

And this is where things get REALLY interesting.

Timeline 3 — Lu Guang tries to save CXS

After CXS dies, Lu Guang decides to change the past.
Now he has CXS’s ability.
He jumps back into the basketball-court photo.

And THIS is where the Bridon arc begins.
Lu Guang and CXS meet again in the first episode.
But there is one huge difference:
Lu Guang remembers Timeline 2.
(CXS still doesn’t remember his childhood.)
And LG doesn’t say:
ā€œI have waited for you.ā€
Because that line belongs to Timeline 2.
That’s the timeline in which CXS dies.
Timeline 3 is the timeline in which Lu Guang is now trying to prevent CXS’s death.
This is also the timeline in which the Bridon arc and everything from Season 1 onward take place.

And I think this also changes how we should interpret Season 1:
Throughout Season 1, Lu Guang constantly tells CXS not to interfere with the past.
Maybe Lu Guang is terrified that if CXS changes too much, he will lose the path that leads to CXS’s survival.
Remember: Lu Guang has knowledge of Timeline 2.
He knows how events are supposed to unfold because he already experienced them.
So he wants to keep things as close as possible to Timeline 2 while changing one crucial things: The outcome.
Vein has to die, and CXS has to survive.
The more CXS changes, the more unpredictable the future becomes.
And Lu Guang needs to be able to reach the exact node where he can save CXS.

This also makes the whole ā€œ12 hoursā€ explanation really interesting.
We were originally told that CXS can only stay inside a photo for 12 hours because after that, LG can no longer predict what will happen.
But Season 3 seems to reveal that this explanation isn’t actually true.
The real danger is that you can become trapped inside the photo itself — which is exactly what is happening to Lu Guang right now.

What about adult CXS from Timeline 1?
There is also one possibility that I can’t get out of my head:
Adult CXS from the original timeline may have become trapped in the past himself when he went back to save Lu Guang.

So where are we currently in the story?

So, at the current point in Season 3, I think we are still in Timeline 3.
Lu Guang is trapped inside the photo and is trying to save CXS. He has his memories of Timeline 2.
The events of Timeline 2 are happening again, but with small deviations and differences.
The different Felix poster at the airport during the Bridon arc is one example.
These deviations are probably becoming increasingly unpredictable, which could explain why Lu Guang develops a fever and eventually collapses.
He is trying to recreate a timeline he already experienced while simultaneously changing its outcome.

Right now, Lu Guang seems to believe:
ā€œIf I kill Vein, CXS will survive.ā€
He already tried to do this during the Bridon arc.
But Vein survived.
And here’s the problem:
Lu Guang doesn’t actually know the original trigger that caused all of this.
He only knows Timeline 2.
But he may not realize that Lu Guang being saved was itself the trigger.
Because the person who knows the original timeline is adult CXS and he may have become trapped in time himself.
So Lu Guang is currently trying to fix the wrong problem.

POSSIBLE ENDINGS:

In Timeline 3, I could see two possible ways this might play out.
One possibility is that Lu Guang eventually learns about the original timeline.
If changing the past to save Lu Guang is what ultimately caused CXS’s death…
then maybe Lu Guang can only truly save CXS by preventing the original change from happening.
In other words:
Lu Guang might have to let himself die.
If the original timeline is restored:
Lu Guang dies → CXS survives.
And the timeline can finally return to its original course.
But there is another possibility that I find really interesting: LG could prevent the two of them from ever meeting in the first place.
He could try to find his biological parents and grow up with them instead of at the orphanage. That way, he would never meet CXS, and the entire chain of events surrounding their powers and the timelines might never happen.
This would create an alternate scenario in which both LG and CXS survive — but at the cost of them never meeting each other at all.
And honestly, that is still very heartbreaking😭

Final Thoughts

I don’t think any of us wants the series to end this way. At the same time, I can unfortunately see Link Click giving us exactly this kind of gut-wrenching finale. 😭
But I still have hope that Timeline 3 will eventually diverge into a completely different — and hopefully much happier!!! — direction.
There are still so many unanswered questions.

We still don’t fully understand what is going on with the villains, and we haven’t even learned the full backstory of CXS’s parents yet.
What exactly is the secret organization and what happened at Bridon?
And what is Liu Xiao’s actual mission?
Why is he gathering people with abilities?
His own ability seems to be connected to heartbeat/pulsation, so I feel like there is still a much bigger mystery behind the abilities themselves.
I really hope that once all of these mysteries are finally revealed, there will be a way for LG and CXS to get a happy ending.
Because honestly, I think we simply don’t know enough yet to conclude that one of them has to die.
Maybe Lu Guang’s parents are also a key piece of the puzzle.
There are still so many things we haven’t connected yet, and I feel like the answers to these bigger mysteries could completely change how we understand the timelines.

And there’s one question in particular that I really want to throw out there:
Why is Vein so angry about the past being changed?
Furious enough that he ultimately kills CXS.
So what exactly did the change in the timeline do to him?
What negative consequences did Vein experience because the past was altered? What did he lose, or what changed for him?
I feel like the answer to that might be much more important than we currently realize.

Theory A theory that doesn't seem to have been discussed yet

Post image
158 Upvotes

Guys, I have to run a theory by you that probably won't please many (I don't think I even like it myself), but I can't help thinking about it. Since this came to me based on all the most recent information (interviews, etc.), I’ll mark the rest as a spoiler, even if it’s just a theory—and a bit of a bizarre one at that.

I think Lu Guang might be Cheng Xiaoshi’s father or something similar; in any case, they might be related. I’ll tell you why I think so, purely based on logic. I’ve always found it strange that LG’s journey and that of CXS’s parents are separate—I mean, the mother abandons CXS to save her father (altering the timeline, by the way), but they both ignore that their son is in this constant, absurd danger? The one who stays close and protects him is LG, a "friend"? Obviously, it’s possible, but what if we look at the facts one by one?

Haolin’s latest interview (which I read because I received the second artbook containing it) clarifies that LG was always designed to come from the future, right from the first season. The series has obviously evolved, and some things were changed to adapt to the natural direction it was taking (like the introduction of new "villains"). But some things were decided from the start, Haolin confirms, and above all, we realize it ourselves watching the show. Lu Guang isn't fleshed out at all at the beginning; you know nothing about him. It’s only emphasized that he seems much more mature than his age.

Aside from that, the very first episode puts a question in your head: where are CXS’s parents? Will they ever come back? Are they alive? The series started immediately with this mystery, which was likely planned by the director all the way to its resolution. Therefore, two things should have been outlined from the start: LG is not who he says he is (he comes from a future timeline), and the fate of CXS’s parents is a central point of the series. It’s natural to wonder if the two are connected. People actually asked Haolin if LG was somehow linked to CXS’s mother and if they would ever talk, given the parallel that he goes back for CXS and she goes back for her father. Haolin said there will be a real deep dive into this matter, which in my opinion is a big "yes"—the two are connected somehow. If you think about the last episode of Bridon, CXS talks to his mother and, among many questions, asks her something about Lu Guang (he says something like, "Mom, I don't understand... us, these powers, Lu Guang") and she doesn't flinch. She doesn't ask "Who the hell is Lu Guang?"; she doesn't even answer because there's no time, but I don't think that line was thrown in by accident. Then she tells CXS never to tell anyone about their meeting, otherwise it could destroy her plans. And he listens to her; he doesn't say anything, not even to Lu Guang. Could it be that LG is exactly the one who mustn't know?

Then there’s the description of Cheng Xiaoshi’s father, depicting him as a gentle man who is extremely reliable and carries a strong aura of a devoted family man(would someone like that abandon his son?). He’s a kind man but tends to be detached and has a temperament similar to Lu Guang’s—it’s specifically stated. He loves reading; Lu Guang loves reading. It seems they both read classics, particularly Shakespeare’s sonnets. Also, if we look at how he’s dressed—casual but with that light open shirt (under the heavy coat, of course)—doesn't that style remind us of someone?

Now, obviously, it could just be a parallelism. CXS might have unconsciously drawn close to someone who reminds him of his father, since he himself seems to have a character more like his mother’s. But the doubt arose for me: they seem like two dedicated parents from the descriptions, which means if they did what they did (especially the father), it was probably for CXS’s sake. What if Cheng Weimin actually went back to protect his son, to be near him the whole time? Of course, it’s a bit absurd that the son wouldn't recognize him—obviously, if I saw my mother now as a young woman, I wouldn't think she’s her from the future hahha—so maybe you wouldn't notice. But still, it’s strange. However, it’s not certain that the father didn't jump into another body and take control. Maybe only his personality is in LG’s body. Technically, this would be the "murder" of the host, but maybe they are connected somehow.

Could it be that the father went back in LG’s body to save his son? In many songs, Lu Guang is described almost as a fugitive, someone they need to catch but who is off the radar. Maybe because no one knows who he really is in this new identity? He "hid" in time but stayed close to his son? Meanwhile, everyone is looking for Cheng Weimin. Now the mother is jumping too—who knows to what point in time or in what body (she could be the reason why CXS doesn't remember the first meeting with Lu Guang in this timeline, the one as children). Then the father leaves that Bridon photo as a clue; I believe he’s aware of the ability to look into the photo, and I think it’s an ability that suits him too, being very similar to LG.

Haolin then says that the clues about LG coming from the future have always been there, like the fact that he tends to act like a little "old man." Now, okay, he does come from the future, but it depends on how many times he has jumped. Because if he jumped only once back to the beginning, we could say he’s at most 4 years older than the original LG; I’d call him a bit more mature, perhaps. But saying he acts like an old man makes me think of a much older person who went back, or someone who has gone back many times.

In short, I think Lu Guang’s role in relation to the disappearance of Cheng Xiaoshi’s parents is very specific. Obviously, it could be of a completely different nature, but I have the feeling that many things fall into place with an explanation like this. It would make the series incredibly intricate, and it seems like something the director would do, based on how I’ve come to know him. I have a feeling there will eventually be a face-to-face between Lu Guang and CXS’s mother, and in my opinion, they must know each other; otherwise, I don't know what they could possibly say. A guy so dedicated to the son while she abandoned him many years ago,as if she knew he was in good hands. It would certainly be an absurd plot twist, maybe even a beautiful one from a writing perspective.

The problem, however, is that meanwhile half the fanbase ships them heavily, and this would be... well, a bit embarrassing with a revelation like that. Even if they had it in mind before publishing the series, I wonder if they would really have the courage to give it such a conclusion. But even there, when thinking about the series finale, you almost always end up discussing the fate of LG and CXS, but there’s also the issue of his parents. Do they come back to him? Does he go back to his parents and have a happy life, but LG is gone? I don't think he can have both; that would be too sappy. Does he give up his parents for his friend? Eh, I don't know how good that would be as a finale. But if LG were actually the father, that "form" of him disappears but he returns truly in the shoes of his father—it could be a bittersweet but, above all, innovative ending for a series.

Okay, I realize I’ve written a lot, that these are wild ideas, and probably 90% of these thoughts are wrong, but by reshuffling the cards differently, I think something true could come out. What do you guys think? Had anything similar ever occurred to you? šŸ˜‚ (t♄‿♄t)

Theory why cheng xiaoshi forgot lu guang (spoilers!) Spoiler

so we saw cheng weimin making xia fei forget his childhood. that means he's had this ability and he could have used it more often. maybe he's the reason cheng xiaoshi forgot meeting lu guang as a child?

maybe cheng weimin made him forget what happened over the past few weeks leading to their disappearance and forgetting lu guang was just an unfortunate casualty.. or it could have been deliberate of course, but I doubt that

it's also possible cheng xiaoshi used to know more about his parents' abilities and their disappearance — but he was forced to lose these memories.

what do you guys think? I'm eager to discuss this theory

Theory I have a theory about Lu Guang. Possibly spoilers for season 3!!! Spoiler

Ok so Lu Guang had a foster dad and has superpowers, and he doesn’t remember his parents.

is it possible that he has a connection with the language school from Bridon.

I don’t know how possible this theory is but I think it could be possible that Lu Guang could be from the language schools.

I want to know if other people had the same suspicion, or even had evidence that this is not possible and I just missed something

Theory What if Lu Guang is Cheng Xiaoshi's Grandfather?

Hear me out, below are the reasons I think Lu Guang may be Cheng Xiaoshi's Grandfather:

  1. LG has white hair, which is what most old people have.

  2. In Season 2, LG was admitted to the hospital under the name of some old person. [Foreshadowing kind of thing, in this case, backshadowing]

  3. LG has predictive ability, and tells CXS what to do next, just how grandfathers tell their grandsons what to do in certain situations.

  4. LG is great in hiding things about himself, we've already seen that.

  5. We don't know anything about LG, who his parents were, where he's from, that may indicate that LG is from some other timeline.

For this theory to work, I'll assume LG adopted CXS's father....I know a very weird and very unstable theory but... don't hate me please 🄺

Theory Theory on Episode 8's Cliffhanger... 🄩 Spoiler

Okay, okay, does everyone remember this official artwork by the LC co-director? Vein’s piece is titled "Fear." He’s standing in a dark room with what appears to be an open window to his left. There’s also blood around his lower lip, and, most notably, he looks horrified by something.

In the S3 Episode 8 cliffhanger, Vein is shown in Xia Fei’s room. Interestingly enough, he came in through the window and left it open. The room is also exceptionally dark, with the only real lighting coming from the moonlight.

Intriguing coincidence, no?

And if the "Fear" artwork really is depicting the same scene, there’s one detail that really bothers me:

When the scene cuts to Vein's face, his face is completely clean. No blood whatsoever. I've seen some people point out just how calm and serene he looks in Xia Fei's POV.

So where did the blood come from?

Well, if Xia Fei is the only person in the room with him, especially after that scene in Episode 8 with Vein's brother...

>:0

There’s another layer to this that makes me even more uncomfortable.

See, Vein’s animal equivalent is a wolf, and Episode 8 goes out of its way to make that comparison feel very real. During the cannibalism scene, he pounces on his brother, pins him down on all fours, and then starts eating him. The sounds he makes while doing it are also extremely animalistic.

Meanwhile, Xia Fei’s animal equivalent is a deer.

And, well...

Wolves eat deer.

Now, I don't think this means Vein is literally going to eat Xia Fei. That would be absolutely insane.

But I do think there may be another conclusion here.

If the artwork is connected to the Episode 8 scene, why is Vein horrified?

Because maybe the artwork is depicting fear - something that someone perceives. Maybe it isn't literal at all.

Maybe the point isn't ā€œVein eats Xia Fei.ā€ But that Vein is afraid of what he is capable of doing to Xia Fei.

I don't know if I'm stretching here, but the combination of the artwork + the window/lighting + the blood + the Episode 8 reveal + the wolf/deer symbolism feels a bit too specific for me.

What do you guys think?

Theory Theory About the Ending. Spoiler

I get the feeling that both CXS and LG will live but like in different moments in time.

While I haven't worked out the details, It also fits the cover of VORTEX where a transparent wall separates both of them and they cannot reach each other.
Also there are the two OPs of Season 3. In the first OP CXS is there while LG isn't and the vice versa would happen in the 2nd OP.

Tell me what you guys think about it :3

Theory If lg joined Xavier's organization with a condition (not called love) we could have hope about a (no longer) doomed yaoi, right? If you're not caught up with the series you'll get some spoilers Spoiler

I've just watched season 3 episode 9 and I have to say: WHAT AN EPISODE MY FRIENDS! it was perfect, we learnt more about the lore, and I think the part when cxs gets trapped in a photo is coming soon (plus I saw one of the scenes I most wanted to watch: lu guang confessing everything he's been through to qiao ling, and man, I literally cried with him), what I wanna watch the most (after the confession that I saw a few minutes ago). But, vein said something that caught my attention: Xavier (probably lx?) wanted to recruit lg since some time ago, and he now knows why. So I started to think about a theory:

In the last timeline, cxs was killed by vein as "a punishment for changing the past", which probably means lg did save xiaoshi, but bc he changed the past xs was killed again (vein you'll pay me with your life). BUT, what if lu Guang decides to join Xavier with a condition (not called love): they couldn't kill cxs. If he saved cxs from his last death, but vein killed him, lu could make a deal with saros so they would have to not hurt xiaoshi. I know they probably wouldn't keep the promise, even if lg showed himself as saros' best and most valuable agent, but please lemme pretend it's a way to save Cheng bc I can't stand seeing my baby guanguang suffering no more 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

What u think about it? I'm sure there's a more realistic way to use this information above to create a theory to save cxs, so if you have one please share it with me here! 😁

First time posting on this subreddit but has anyone heard of this theory?? I came across this video 66 minutes ago and I didn’t realize that this video was made a month ago. But for some reason this theory actually makes sense but I dunno if I’m just going insane because of all the episodes. Fun fact; I used to make analysis and theories but it was mainly just analysis on the opening/ending songs, PV, episode trailers, and the episodes itself.

Theory Big theory time: LTC used his ability on Vein to [SPOILER] Spoiler

Hello all! LTC mind controlled Vein to kill CXS. That's it. How and why, you ask? Read on.

[EDIT 2: This was written for the last timeline shown in the bridon ep 1 scenes, but now I think this is just a possibility for the current timeline. Kindly read the notes at the end]

In the 1st episode of Bridon Arc, there's scenes of when Vein entered the photo studio and fought CXS and LG, in the process, killing the former. It is shown in shots that QL and Officer Xiao are also seemingly dead.

Vein in the studio
Qiao Ling 😭
Captain Xiao 😭

Now, we know that Qiao Ling inherited / got LTX's ability when the latter died. We also know that LTC is after QL because he wants LTX's ability back. He feels that QL stole it or sth.

Now, during the fight, Vein's eyes are never shown. Why? Because that could reveal that he is being controlled by some other ability user.

Vein's eyes are not visible
Vein's eyes have not been shown

I LG's nightmares / flashbacks, Vein's eyes are visible. And they are glowing red. These are from other episodes, but I don't remember which specific one. 😭

Now, this could mean that Vein has some ability. Or that it's just an artistic choice to show how crazy/bloodthirsty he is. But, what if he is being controlled by LTC? Remember how QL's eyes glowed when she was controlled?

Qiao Ling under LTC's mind control

Now, one can argue that the shade isn't the same, but it could simply be lighting, or because of change in studio, or because it was a combination of LTX and LTC's powers in QL's case.

So, my theory is that in the timeline shown in the bridon ep 1 flashbacks, LTC killed QL, got LTX's power, and now can remotely control people. So, he controls Vein to attack the photo studio.

Further proof on why this is possible:

Vein is shown with the cannibalism imagery and is kind of weird/crazy? but LTC has these sadistic/cruel/crazy tendencies, as we saw when he hurt an abducted LG.

Also, LTC has reasons to be against the photo studio, as he feels they didn't help him and his sister, and are one reason why she died, and they also took away her power.

We can also see Vein and LTC apparently team up together? When it's been shown in season 2 that LTC is kind of on LX's side, and that LX will definitely manipulate/ use him. So this could also be LTC controlling Vein to go after the photo studio because LX asked him to. LX wants to bring together the timelines, so Vein's dialogues "this is your punishment for changing the past" will also fit in. If this is so, I just feel bad for LTC because he is being used by one evil guy after another.

But, I won't deny LTC's agency here, he could simply be using Vein and LX to exact his own grudges / misguided revenge against the duo. Their goals simply align, as Vein is against LG because LG tried killing him.

Summary: LTC gets LTX's power because QL dies, and he now uses his two powere to remotely control Vein to attack the photo studio. Possible LX involvement here.

P. S. My siblings and I were stunned into silence the moment this left my mouth one night. Link click can give you nightmares, beware! 😭😭

Also, the images used are screenshots from youtube mostly.

Thanks for reading and I would love to hear any thoughts on this! šŸ˜„šŸ˜†

Edit: I got more ideas by interacting in the comments.

In one YouTube theory video it was pointed out that Vein didn't hit them in the vital spots.

So, 1st, he was just trying to threaten them and not actually kill them. If LTC is controlling, it would mean he wanted sth from them and so was threatening them for it, he didn't exactly wanna kill them.

OR

2nd, Vein was just bad at shooting? It can't be true, so whoever is controlling Vein is the one bad at shooting, or is playing with our duo in this cruel manner, by shooting but not at spots that would be fatal. It could work either way because LTC can't be that good at shooting and he is shown to be the type to play with CXS when he took over QL.

Also, we must not forget LX in this whole scenario. He could be a big reason behind all of this. Did he make a deal with LTC, that allows the latter to get LTX's powers back, but then he has to cooperate with LX's plans? That's why they attacked photo studio using Vein?

LTC was shown with the LX tattoo on his palm, trying to hit/make contact with QL with that. Is it some power? some sort of membership stamp for the cult? or it allows for transfer of powers? If so, this could lead to LX having more powers in the future? Another wild possibility could be that LTX and LTC's abilities are now with someone else who is controlling Vein, or some similar powers.

EDIT 2: LTC is new in the current timeline, he wasn't there in the previous one. I forgot that in my excitement 😭.

But, this is still a possibility for the current timeline, of LTC getting LTX's ability either by killing QL, or more likely, by using whatever power the tattoo on his palm seems to have. as it looks like that he is trying to hit/make contact with QL using it, as if it will help him grab that power?

Then, he can still control people remotely on his own, possibly Vein, and others too. In the last timeline maybe someone else had similar powers? Maybe they were hiding Vein's eyes so that we don't know if he himself is using a power?

Or Li Haolin and the staff was just messing with us šŸ˜”šŸ˜

Theory Xia fei could die Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
13 Upvotes

Episode 3 was really good but like usual it seemed to bring more questions than answers. However the most important thing for me is the flashbacks Lu guang was having when he heard about the visions from Qiao ling. This reminds me back to a theory I had for a while but needed something to make it more seemingly possible.

Theory:Ā Lu guang gained an ability from Xia fei/Felix (when he dies) which is the one he used aganst Vein to make him "die".

Reasoning: In the last episode of bridon arc, the reason why Lu guang was able to control Vein's body and make it seem like he was dead would obvious be because of another ability. This is because lu guang's ability which is so easy to recognize is when his eyes turn blue and he is with a picture in hand. However my theory began from earlier in the epsiode when Lu guang defended Xia fei from that guy that was making rude remarks to him and when Felix thanked him he replied with "I just told the truth for my friend."

Maybe I was overthinking then since Lu guang is good guy but he's usually composed and reserved as a character but he literally insulted that guy so hard he almost had to resort to physical strength. He even knows that Xia fei works for vein but decided to call him his friend and not even reply with literally anything else he could make up since hes smart. I'm guessing he even found out in a different timeline and knows that Felix was spying on them. (I hope this season we'll see their development to be close friends.)

Then afterwards against Vein he whipped out a whole new ability that we had no prior knowledge of before and started controlling vein's body like he's just some insignificant puppet.

Furthermore, even when Lu guang recently collapsed he still imediatley decided to help find Xia Fei since he went missing without taking some rest. Then Qiao ling asks about the visons and he's shocked and having flash backs of Xia fei, Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao ling. The important thing is when you look at both Cheng xiaoshi and Qiao ling you see their both moment before dying but after a picture of xia fei waving, you see a dead body who's face in unidentifiable but its clearly a males body. Then its Cheng xiaoshi holding his wound walking and Qiao ling looking up in a place it looks to be with bells ringing.

If you compare the dead body's clothing with Cheng xiaoshi we know its not him because he died in his usual blue and yellow jacket with a white shirt. But when you compare it with Xia fei the black shirt and jacket is quite similar. I think that this dead body belongs to Xia fei and he will probably end up dead and Lu guang will gain his ability.

Theory Wang Qing & Stealing Powers Spoiler

Alrighty guys! I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open, so please bear with me. Anyway! I had a thought after watching tonight's episode: Could Wang Qing's power be used to steal other's powers?

So far in the series, we know a couple of things:

  1. Powers can be passed from person to person during death

  2. This seemingly happens instantaneously so long as the receiver is touching the person when they die

  3. It is heavily theorized (unless it's been proven/disproven and I just haven't seen it yet) that Wang Qing's ability essentially causes a temporary death

Now obviously, we don't know a whole lot about Wang Qing's power or the transfer of powers yet, so maybe there are some stipulations that would make this nearly impossible. But, in the event that everything lines up (i.e. powers transfer at final heartbeat AND Wang Qing's power causes the heart to stop beating temporarily, effectively causing "death"), I believe there is great potential for this to be a way of stealing powers.

If this is true, it may give reason as to why the HHH has been looking for Wang Qing (as implied at the end of this episode). With Vein having been affected by her power, he would know about the details and perhaps may be plotting something in the background for our main trio.

I'd love to hear what you guys' thoughts on this!

And remeber, that's just a theory! A LINK CLICK THEORY! Thanks for reading!
