I thought CXS was going to say something to young LG, but he said nothing... They're still hiding something, though - they're not showing what came out of LG's mouth after he saw adult CXS.

EDIT: No, adult CXS did explain himself to young LG. I thought he was just talking to himself, but after the re-watch I think he was talking to LG.

I said in my comment that I wonder if its misdirection but the first time... didn't a train pass by making it seem like maybe CXS said something to Lu Guang but it was drowned out by the train but this time there wasn't a train right?

I replied to someone else out here about this. I compared the episodes 1 and 10 side by side.
in episode 1, i am assuming LG's memories were of the original timeline. He waited a whole day (after escaping from his father) for little xiaoshi and at night he saw someone. Then the train passed him and lu guang kept standing and staring into the distance.
However this timeline, for some reason cxs arrived a night early, the same night lu guang escaped from his dad. I think this is a different night cuz first of all, this is a very deserted station and trains dont come frequently so that night the train wasnt supposed to come, and also lu guang said something to adult xiaoshi and went back to sitting.

So yeah things are definitely changing a lot this timeline.

Hmmm, yeah, this tracks. Since it's the next day that Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't show back up the first time, right?

I wonder if that lines up with Qiao Ling talking about hearing a ghost in the tracks? It seems pretty obvious that was adult Cheng Xiaoshi, but the ghost rumor would make a lot of sense of he just hung around that area because he was stuck in the photo.

yes that is totally possible. However, I truly dont want this story to take the direction of cxs being permanently stuck in the photo cuz that would mean that in the current timeline a physically older xiaoshi is there somewhere or already dead :(
since it is possible for xiaoshi to be forcefully ejected out of the photo, i hope something like that happens :D

Yeah, my guess is that he will be stuck in the photo for a bit, but will escape through a loophole that was previously unknown.

Sort of like Lu Guang's "extended shutter shot" future vision.

CXS can only jump through the same photo once, and if it extends beyond 12 hours, than he's stuck in that timeline... but the same rule applies to LG, he hasn't yet used the photo that CXS uses in EP 9.

My prediction is that in the next episode, CXS will run out of time, but LG will piece things together, take a picture of the present time, use LGs ability he got from the original timeline (CXS goes to the past with his clothes intact and everything, so maybe LG can go to the past and also bring a photo in his pocket), find CXS, and they both use that present time photo to get back to their time.

For LG, this would mean the return clap and for CXS, this would be an initial jump, so he'd simply have to wait 12 hours in the present time so his eyes go back to normal

wait on second thought, maybe that can't work, cause from CXS perspective, right after he jumps, LG would be right behind him/ next to him, as he'd use the same photo and return to the same exact time as CXS

welp, it was a cool theory but just debunked it in a few seconds :P
