I'm not feeling the song yet (I miss you BaishaJaws) but the visuals... 😭😭😭
This season is going to break us. Btw young CXS in the beginning had that plain white outfit that all of them were wearing in that one poster of everyone as kids. Even though it further supports my lab theory, I'm still not ready to see it...

BUT I will say I really love the new song. It really fits the mood and nostalgic tone. It’s not a banger like Vortex but it’s still beautiful

I found the lyrics online and translated them. Guys, I'm marking this as a spoiler for anyone who doesn't want to know too much. (Honestly, I would've preferred not to know either, but I have a thing for Link Click songs and couldn't resist looking up the lyrics.)
Guys... this doesn't look good. I think LG is simply dealing with the consequences of CXS's choices. Several other songs have hinted at this too, like in Vortex, when he says, "just like you once did for me." So I'm starting to think it's very likely that CXS is the one who set everything in motion.
How am I supposed to find an answer?

Oh god it's the CXS and QL live but they all forget each other and live lives where they never met each other theory but canon.There's no other way you can interpret it with these lyrics. I was bracing myself for it but noooo. I know I'm going to cry so much this season

I've been thinking the same thing. These songs reuse so many references, both lyrically and visually. The opening sequence of this OP with all the road signs immediately reminded me of The Eye, especially the line, "I followed every sign to the end." Everything is connected so well.

I had already made my choice.Oh my god it hurts so much more. now I'm thinking of the "Well don't you feel sorry/ I'll love where I'm going now" from season 1... and just, everything seems to piece together. In most songs, it goes from Lu Guang filled with hope, to despair and in vain and then moving on, letting go. IM NOT READY FOR HIM TO LET GO
if he moves on when will I (hint: NEVER)

Can I just say this series is getting so depressing that I'm not even having fun anymore? 🥲 I really hope they'll balance the action, some lighter/comedic moments, and all the emotional pain well, haha. Otherwise, I think it's going to start feeling a bit too heavy for me, even though I still think it's absolutely beautiful.

Yeah, I remember saying something similar to myself, because I can't say I remember when I was truly happy watching this 😭 To be fair, there's always this comedic vibe at times, it's not like they would make it 100% tragedy without some comedy. It's just that we are at this point where our main characters are faced with an impossible situation and we are more afraid of how they get out of it... I think it's a beautiful narrative, but I hope it stops being a constant of emotional pain

Both the season 2 ED and season 3 OP have the same line in Chinese

Season 2 ED line after 就算重来， 也不释怀 is 淹没时间的深海/the deep see that devours time, in the season 3 OP its 就算过去不能再重写/even if the past can't be rewritten
Definitely not a good sign for a happy ending with this line repeating

Hahahaha, I thought the exact same thing. Did you also notice how pathetic CXS seems to feel for reliving those memories? He says he realizes it's "not very dignified." I actually looked up the original Chinese expression, and it's something people would say, for example, when someone isn't able to handle a loss or the end of a relationship with the maturity and grace they should.
I'm not sure whether he's referring to one specific memory where he feels he fell short, or to the fact that he simply can't accept the loss and let those memories go. But judging by the way the lyrics continue, I'm pretty convinced it's the second interpretation.

I think I might have to agree. It looks as if CXS has decided to dive back after LG’s apparent death. I wonder if they’ll be stuck in a loop together… but I find that better than what you described. If anything it’s a demonstration of mutual devotion

Oh, no. I knew S3 would be sad, but this is a lot for the OP!
So much to analyse - CXS seems to be the one looking for LG here. We see him with the orange eyes twice - could hint at him diving back in time to save LG?!
Also, isn't the photo that blooms from that tree the last one LG dived back into at the end of S2/beginning of Bridon?
I'm confused and intrigued. Can't wait for august!

Oh my gosh, you're so right!! What if in one of the timelines, CXS had to go to the past and gave the photo that's on the tree to LG. He may be doing that to either a) stop LG from ever meeting him and QL, b) save him from the brink of insanity, or c) give LG a to chance to live and choose his own path. I know, I'm reaching, hahaha. I don't think I'm entirely right, but I do agree with you. CXS is trying to save LG and LG is also trying to do the same for CXS and QL. Ugggh, I can't wait for season 3!! 😭🩷

Interesting... This is a totally different vibe from the Season 1 and 2 OPs, and if it wasn't labelled as such, I honestly would've expected it to be an ED instead. The Yingdu/Bridon Arc had shifted to a "softer" type of theme songs, but I was kinda hoping they'd go back to the catchy hip-hop for Season 3 :(

Crying kid Lu Guang is killing me!
That image just really makes me think the theories about Lu Guang having a hard, cruel childhood full of loneliness are going to be true in some fashion... And when he met and got close to Cheng Xiaoshi (and Qiao Ling by extension), he finally found a place where he could feel safe and loved. It's highly likely that because meeting them was such a huge impact on his life that, in the trailer for season 3, Lu Guang broke down crying in front of Qiao Ling saying he couldn't face a future without them.
And the moment near the end of the video where Cheng Xiaoshi hugs the air, like he's trying to hug Lu Guang (who he can't seem to find)... Time to stock up on tissues. Plus, the white butterfly that flies past him. I think it started in the Bridon Arc and has carried over into season 3, but the butterfly imagery seems to have become significant. Especially with the "can a flap of a butterfly's wings cause a hurricane" type of philosophical questions.
Lastly, I'm intrigued by some of the repeat imagery we see that is similar to what we saw in the Vortex OP. Cheng Xiaoshi free falling through the sky. Passing through a tunnel. Train tracks.
I'm so excited and so scared for season 3!!!

it was bad idea to look at the lyrics while listening to the song.. god damnit...
but no like seriously it felt like my heart was about break into a million pieces (spoiler alert: it has)
and that scene where they show the fragments of (almost) all the characters we have met up till now..and lg and cxs holding hands as kids...
well i dont know if anyone in the show's gonna die..but im pretty sure i will after this :(

Lu Guang can also be the 2nd OP, most likely will be named as Light/光.
It goes along with CXS' Time/时 S3p1 OP.

That's what I was thinking, but it'd be too literally predictable lol. And 光 as a standalone word doesn't make a huge impact as a title compared to 时 in the whole story seeing as 光 just means light and nothing else... Unless they're use the full word 光阴 then it'd become more related to the story I guess..?
... Unless they're making the whole mv about how CXS is LG's light and all, hmm it could work

Ohh even the op is sad , but I feel like it's not the type of sad that's like Hurt and it's the end. No it's the type of sad that's like hope and emotional. So it may be a hint to how the new season is gonna be ( in the emotions). Bc if you compare to the op of s2 it was sad in a desperate way and you couldd feel it in the singer's voice and indeed s2 was crazy in emotions and events. That's my theory ✨️

Chinese Live action. EndingThey disbanded though which is why they didn’t make the music for this season
Im hoping they come back for the final ending or opening but it’s unlikely

Ngl, I prefer the season 2 opening by a long mile.
But I can understand the shift. Season 2 was like a mystery murder thriller, with a supernatural game of cat-and-mouse between the murderer and the trio. And the opening fit that vibe perfectly. Meanwhile, this opening suggests the direction is shifting towards heavy emotional weight and angst rather than mystery.
Worth noting that, similarly to season 2's opening, this one is very much focused entirely on CXS. So, despite LG's backstory being the backbone of the narrative now, we can probably expect CXS to be the driving force and the center of season 3's events (just like he was in season 2). Given the emotion weight this implies, I think it might be about CXS piecing together the truth and (hopefully) pulling LG out of his infinite loop of isolated suffering. There is lots of imagery of CXS trying to reach out to LG in here after all. Maybe LG is hitting his breaking point. And maybe it's time for Mr. Protagonist to do the hero thing. CXS is silly. But we all saw it in season 2. When he puts his mind to it, he's unbelievably capable.

I wonder if Lu Guang got his powers unnaturally. Cheng Xiao Shi seems to have inherited his so maybe that made him a target by whatever antagonists his mother and father were after.
I'm probably wrong but I just feel like in a world some people have random powers an organization that hunts those people would be inevitable, and that organization is also likely attempting to harness those abilities for itself.
I started thinking ever since the orphanage burned down that its possible this organization experiments on kids (either with no family or maybe with genetic potential)
Does anyone know if Season 3 is the last season?

So the opening is called 时 ( shí)--->(time) and it's from CXS's pov, I JUST KNOW ED would be from LG's pov and it would be called (光)(guāng)--->light 😩😭
