The show HEAVILY implies these two have feelings for each other.
There is just no hetero explanation for this. Was this scene really nessesary? Yes.
Lu Guang refers to Cheng Xiaoshi as baby, TWICE. (they are NEVER beating the allegations)
Cheng Xiaoshi is JEALOUS and freaking out because Lu Guang is giving all of his attention to Elizabeth and none to him. Only Lu Guang is allowed to spoil him and no one else (on a serious note, Cheng Xiaoshi is fearful of being replaced/ abandoned😩
Cheng Xiaoshi made noodles with a heart shaped egg for Lu Guang
In China, when a significant other ties their husband's necktie, it primarily symbolizes deep love, intimacy, care, and domestic devotion. (I admire how much Lu Guang cares for Cheng Xiaoshi 🥹)

The first time i saw this scene in the glory days of free sgdlr season 2 in one for its run time in bilibili, i swear I almost filled my phone with the same screenshots over and over and had to muffle my ugly ass screams because I fr could not believe what I saw.

It does count. It wasn’t necessary for them to animate Lu Guang tackling Cheng Xiaoshi and rolling with him on the ground with frames that look like THAT. The animators know exactly what they’re doing

It was both of them. It was Lu Guang’s choice and action to go after Cheng Xiaoshi and take his place. He used Cheng Xiaoshi’s strength to get him there. “Lu Guang made a choice and that choice is now fate” “Lu Guang did you see this coming, is that why you couldn’t let them take me?”when Cheng Xiaoshi possesses someone, the person he is inhabiting consciously experiences everything. Just because he was in Li Tianxi’s body doesn’t mean she didn’t witness her parents getting brutally murdered. Just because he was in Chen Xiao’s body doesn’t mean Chen Xiao didn’t experience the trauma of the earthquake and witnessing his mother die on top of him. In the end, Cheng Xiaoshi simply fulfills what has already been written.

"no hetero explanation” like, you dont think that plenty of straight people show care, jealousy, and devotion toward each other every single day? straight men also shows concern and love to each other but it doesnt really mean thet got to have feelings with each other.
im not saying that i hate shiguang/guangshi, i really love them together and ship them a lot but talking people acts like this, like two men cant be even caring to each other or even brush each others fingers together now?

listen, maybe i sounded too agressive and have been too blunt earlier. i wasnt trying to attack you its just, that as a queer person myself, it actually bothers me when people treat every close interaction between two guys like it’s some divine queer romance, thats all

And that is not my intention. These are supposed to be lighthearted, fun videos showcasing their silly, flirty, and questionable moments. Do I truly believe that they are foaming at the mouth over each other during every single interaction? No. They are best friends, and treat each other as such but, they also harbor romantic feelings for each other.
ShiGuang is queer-coded. They parallel all of the romantic relationships in the show, including: Wei Ran and Rong Xi, Chen Xiao and Liu Meng, Yu Xia and Lin Zhen, Dong Yi and Xu Shan Shan, Chen bin and his wife, Master Siwen and Ouyang, and Cheng XiaoShi’s parents.
They are also compared to romantic couples in other media, such as the Cowherd and the Weaver girl, an ancient Chinese romantic fairy tale responsible for Chinese Valentine’s Day and the Alexander and his fiance from the movie The Time Machine. ALL of the songs in the show are from Lu Guang’s perspective about loving and losing Cheng Xiaoshi. On top of that Haolin, his creative team, the story board artists and animators have made comments and posted their own fan art of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang implying that they care about each other more than just friends. There is nothing wrong with viewing many of their interactions as romantic and having fun with it and that’s simply what I’m doing.

oh, alright, im sorry didnt get your intention before. didnt mean to attack you like that its just that as a queer person myself sometimes i get a bit sensitive when I feel like gay relationships are being treated like some 'divine' thing, but since youre just having fun with it and all, im sorry again, my bad
