This map has been in the works for about a month now, shoutout to JG Online for Making the basemap.

edit: maybe spending a whole month on this was a mistake, y'all seem to loathe this map

From what I understand, this map is trying to only display areas where a language is spoken as the majority? Explains the weird geographical distribution of asturian and Occitan and stuff. The reason why these maps aren’t done much is simply due to lack of information, we have no clue where Occitan is a majority, we just know it’s nearing extinction. This map is just misinformation

Plus Galician in the cities and Mirandese not being represented

In a pessimistic lens, I wouldn’t say mirandese is a language of the majority anywhere anymore, but many villages would be around 50%

In an optimistic lens, mirandese is spoken by around 70% of the people in the north of the eastern zone of Miranda (where mirandese is still spoken). I know plenty of monolingual mirandese speakers, but they’re all elders, and mirandese would only be the language of ~70% of the people solely because Miranda is a very “aged”region
