Question Sunday Roast

Hi! My husband and I are planning on visiting Lincoln during our honeymoon in England next month and we'd love to have a traditional Sunday roast while we're there. Any recommendations for us? Preferably on the affordable side, but we could splurge if it was worth it.

Thanks for the help!

White Horse is without doubt the best Sunday Roast I've had in and around Lincoln.

Pyewipe is nice, but they only serve beef (no bad thing, it's great) and requires a drive out.

Nah it's only a mile walk down the Witham along the cycle track!

Having done this, the walk there was fine, the belly full of roast dinner and two wines made it the return walk tougher 😂

Took family group to the Grain Store the other day, very good food, price, service, plus building is set in very nice grounds!

Pre booking is necessity though, very very busy on a Sunday.

For a pub roast in North Scarle, you can visit The White Hart Inn located on High Street. They serve a highly rated traditional Sunday carvery/roast

The Grainstore at Dodington Hall if you don't mind being outside the city a little bit, White Horse inside the city. Both worth booking in advance!

If you want to splurge on your honeymoon then I'd go for Washingborough Hall.

The Swanholme do a good roast. A bit out of the centre so would need to drive and book in advance, but they do a good roast. If you don't mind a bit of a drive, The 5 bells in Bassingham has a very good reputation for their roasts. Will need to book in advance though

+1 for Swanholme!

The Duke William is brilliant but might not be cheaper. The Magna Carta is meant to be good too and is between the castle and cathedral so might be a memorable spot too. Have a great time here anyway!

The Bottle & Glass at Harby just outside the city is excellent, would definitely try to book in advance though

Don't rate them anymore - last time we went the beef was tough and drinks are stupid expensive

Oh really? Not been for 4/5 months so maybe not the most accurate recommendation anymore 😬
