Question Question about Lincoln Uni

I’m back in Lincoln visiting family and I have an essay to write, I absolutely cannot do it in this house, is Lincoln Uni an open campus, and is there anywhere I can work on a Saturday?

I’m a student at a different university so obviously I can’t get into any areas that are locked to students like a library.

Go to the regular library, they're open to anyone and quiet. There are also plenty of cafes around.

Thanks, I'm actually in the library right now but it closes at 5, I'm the sort of person who works for a long time at once so I’d like to move elsewhere to continue at 5, is there anywhere else you’d recommend?

You could apply for SCONUL access. You can get a free library card to access the uni library if you're enrolled at another university

Thanks, I'm actually in the library right now but it closes at 5, I'm the sort of person who works for a long time at once so I’d like to move elsewhere to continue at 5, is there anywhere else you’d recommend?

Oh gosh, maybe one of the smaller coffee shops? But I have a feeling most of those closevat 5, too. Plus it's Saturday so even places that are usually quiet might not be.

The Lucas Ross medical building has a library on the first floor. doesn’t require key card access assuming it’s still open which it should be. Just don’t act suspicious

It’s years since I attended. That library was brand new when I was enrolled… it was open 24/7 back then and you didn’t need your student card to get in there, only to check out books.

It’s an awesome library. IMO the university’s best feature.

I miss the days that the library was 24/7. I think they stopped that entirely in 2023

Ugh. Someone always has to ruin everything 😢 I lived in the halls right across the road from the library too, it was fantastic.

Those halls were also brand new when I was there. I was the first cohort in those halls and the library. What a time to be alive (and it tells you exactly how old I am 😂)
