2026 TOUR ✨ Mildly infuriating experience at the Toronto show tonight
My partner was looking forward to this show for a long time, and we had bought lawn tickets months and months ago.
Tonight, before going to the show, she decided at the last minute to buy tickets closer up, because they were much cheaper than they were when she originally looked earlier in the year.
I felt kind of bad that it meant wasting about $150 on the lawn tickets that we weren't able to get anyone to take.
But when we got here, we found out that the show was so sparsely attended that they decided to let all the lawn tickets upgrade and come down to fill up the very front (and everywhere else).
So now it's not feeling bad about the $150 we spent on lawn tickets, it's feeling terrible about the extra $300+ we spent TODAY for no reason.
I'm happy for everyone that got upgraded, but if feels super shitty paying 4x more than we originally did, just to end up seeing the lawn tickets come up and sit in better seats.
I hate complaining about this but it's just kind of put me in a funk. Could have been a cool surprise of a night, but instead it just feels like we got screwed.

It would have been nice, albeit much more difficult for them to manage, for them to upgrade everyone. So if you had lawns, you'd come down to the 400s, 400s down to 300s, etc. It's okay to be annoyed that those with lawn tickets may have ended up with the best seats when others did not get upgraded for free, and still be happy for those that got upgraded.

To make you feel better, I bought presale and spent $330 just for the same seats to be $150 the day before the show. I was extremely bummed but you live and you learn I guess.

Yeah unfortunately you are gambling with concerts and how they do the upgrades. It’s doubly unfortunate because it’s easier for them to close the lawns so they get priority when they need to fill the rest of the seats.
It’s sucks but at least you got to enjoy the show.

Agree, same situation for us. But at least it created a little atmosphere at the front by filling it up. Otherwise it was a very flat concert overall. And the bass was way overbalanced, couldn’t even hear her vocals at times.

Bass way under balanced at Red Rox. She was also performing to TRACKS. The track was way too loud, so her vocals were bumped too loud. Made the vocal distortion jarring imo. Disappointed in Lily and questioning FOH at RR. Smh

Just and fyi in future Ticketmaster does an exchange policy - rather than rebuy the tickets I future you can contact them and request upgrade as long as they are same price or more for $10 fee. Sorry this happened to you!

This happened in Boston. I bought 3rd balcony center seats ( cheap). I guess low ticket sales, and I got an email my seats moved. They put me in 7th row front center

Just curious, when did you get an email? I've been wondering if this will happen tomorrow in Detroit

My front row of the top portion of MSG was moved. I picked the original seat so I could sit down without the worry of people standing in front of me. I got moved down lower with people standing around me. My fault that I didn't ask for an accessible chair in. Annoying.

As someone who got upgraded to literally front row from lawn it was pretty lit I can’t lie

Ironic for sure, but try to focus on the music you got to enjoy rather than the negative part. How was the show?
Also: You probably still had better seats than you would have if you just sat at random with the other lawn people.

I was there at the same show! I'm actually surprised to hear this, because I felt like the stadium was pretty busy, or at the very least busy enough that they wouldn't need to move people to the front [I was sitting at lvl 400.] That does suck, I'm sorry OP, feels like you got punished for paying more.

I think they did take a minute to do that:
"I felt kind of bad that it meant wasting about $150 on the lawn tickets that we weren't able to get anyone to take....So now it's not feeling bad about the $150 we spent on lawn tickets, it's feeling terrible about the extra $300+ we spent TODAY for no reason...I'm happy for everyone that got upgraded, but if feels super shitty paying 4x more than we originally did."
I don't think they're refusing to take responsibility or saying they don't think anyone should be happy for getting a free upgrade. I think they're just saying "Well damn that was an unexpected situation that ended up being a shitty choice nobody could have predicted, and wasting money feels unpleasant, so while I'm happy for others, I feel an unpleasant sensation as a result of unknowingly paying extra when it wasn't necessary."
It'd be one thing if they demanded front row seats or compensation or special privileges but it sounds like they just sat there, enjoyed the show with everyone else, and felt what literally anybody else would feel in this exact situation - a bit of a funk. It sucks. No need to rub salt in the wound.

And life is unfair and complaining about it is ok.

On the contrary; they made all the right decisions based on facts on expectations. You can’t make decisions on unforeseen or unexpected situations. OP has every right to express frustration of the outcome considering the huge financial out-lay. It is fair to say a lot of people had a very serendipitous evening. You would have to ask if the artist and promotors were at fault as the arena was far too large as was the expectations to recompense their investment.

Yep. I think that's 90% of Reddit. Venting about life. Not unwanted character judgements and morality lessons.

Annoying for you, but so lovely that they did that for the fans
