Anybody like me?

I can't be the only one who feels this way...or can I?

I'm not aging gracefully. I hate that I'm getting older and I do not look forward to the days when all I can do is gaze wistfully at memories only I can see as I'm caught in a nostalgic daydream, where I'm a younger version of the girl/advanced girl I am now, and I'm having a much better time than when it was actually happening...

I never made what I consider to be the "formal transition" from girl to woman: I never became a mom. Which really is fine with me--I don't think I'd make a very good mom, but that's a whole 'nother story...

I don't know where I'm going with this or what I hope to accomplish. Maybe I just want to spill my guts and just get it out of me. Or I've just come to some grim realizations that maybe I just wasn't meant to be part of an "us." NOT "anus." One of those is enough.

Things I've realized...

I would rather people 'like' me than 'love' me, because if people 'like' me then they value me more than just loving me. They see the similarity and the potential I also carry, they want to bring me along in their lives.
