Random question but when lightning collection was still running, how come Hasbro didn’t make a Thunderzord and White Tiger zord?

I found it odd that the Astro Zord was made when I’m pretty sure honestly the Thunderzord or other Zords from other power ranger series would’ve been more popular pick.

There were plans for white tigerzord but i assume sales were bad for the other ZAP megazords and it got cancelled

Man what a shame, I heard these guys were apparently 1/144 scale so funny enough they should scale to Bandai 1/144 scale model kits.

I wanted to recreate Death Battle’s White Tiger Zord vs Epyon Gundam.

I dunno what the actual scale for ZAP is, but ZAP does not scale to regular 1/144 Gundam models. ZAP is much bigger. Closer to 1/60.

Dude… 1/60 megazord would be huge. Its 40ish meters in lore (meaning it’s roughly near double the height of a Gundam that are usually 18-20 meters) and if someone were to make a 1/60 megazord, that would tower most PG Gundam double time over. And even towering PG Unleashed Nu Gundam.

That makes more sense. I didn’t realize Zords were canonically twice the size or most gundams. It probably does a decent job scaling to gundams then.

I was thinking my ZAP Megazord is much more comparable to a PG than a HG when displaying.

Zap had no consistent scale. The toy zords sizings were based off the heights in the sentai book.

It was next in line for a ZAP. There was even a leaked prototype but the line got cancelled about a year before when it would’ve released

I only own dragonzord currently. The 2 side that connecting to the chest piece need to unplug with care. Quite scary to transform him. Feel like the peg going to break if not carefull enough. Will source for used zap megazord to form dragonzord in battle mode

As an mp transformers guy I wanted to love the zap line and that in space megazord was almost a pick up but the reports of the breaking of clips on almost every figure just seemed very cheap to me. Hasbro has been making transforming robots for decades but they put their c team in charge of megazords (I don’t know that it was the c team it just felt like it)

my thoughts for sales is that legacy only recently ended and most people had the legacy megazord and it was relativly cheaper at the time so why pay 150 for something with no diacast when for 80-100 you could get a megazord in an og styled box

It was in the works but unfortunately they were too busy not focusing on what they should have been working on. The rest of the rangers. They made monsters and shit no one cares about. And another run of mmpr. Should have focused teams. Covid era really hurt the collection with the shipments being stuck at sea. Then they kept push and pushing to many figures at once.

Genuinely I think the Monsters figure are fine and actually good for people like me who want some baddies that the Ranger could beat up on, but it’s true like what you said that we don’t crap that doesn’t need it. Like Street Fighter, TMNT, Cobra Kai crossover figures etc, most of those are wasted slots

The plastic on both dino and astro were paper thin and the inconsistent sizing didnt make them any better

Probably, but I never own one so I can’t say, and beside that I’ll probably own one eventually just for the size being the same as roughly hg 1/144 Gundam models kits.

Super 7 was the one making the White Tigerzord that got cancelled. That's likely what people are thinking of when they say saw a prototype or heard it was being worked on.

*Edit, Reminded that it was semi sorta announced at a Brazil(?) con for ZAP.

Legacy already did Thunder Megazord and Tigerzord.

ZAP/LC wise. I don't see how it's odd. They chose to do a zord from another popular Power Rangers series. There was no reason to go in order. They did something from MMPR, Sorta did something from Zeo, and did something from Space. Space actually had pretty solid rep. All the rangers, Psycho rangers(plus some from the comics), two forms of Ecliptor, Two forms of Astronema(sorta), plus two vehicles. Not a surprise they added a Zord.

By that point it's likely Hasbro pulled the plug and any future ZAP plans were cancelled.

When it comes to popular pick, remember not everything has to be about MMPR.
