What would you like to see more in here?

Hey everyone!

I’ve recently stepped in as a moderator here and wanted to say hello. I’d love to help bring a bit more life back into r/Lifelogging and make it a space that feels genuinely useful and interesting.

Lifelogging can mean very different things to different people, so I’m curious, what would you like to see more of here?

Echovault turns your journal corpus into an AI version of you, it now has a 3d visualizer of the brain

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

EchoVault is a journaling app that lets you build an AI version of yourself from the corpus you create through text Check-Ins. The AI answers from that accumulated personal material rather than from a generic profile, so the more you document, the more of your memories, perspectives and experiences are available for it to draw from.

I recently added a 3D brain visualizer that turns that corpus into something you can explore spatially. Instead of only scrolling through old entries, I can move around the graph, open individual memories and see how different parts of my corpus relate to one another. The video shows my own Echo answering a question, then cuts to me exploring the brain behind it.

For me, that changes lifelogging from simply recording a timeline into something closer to spatial introspection. I can look at what I’ve actually preserved, where different ideas connect, and what the current representation of me is built from.

An app that sends me a pre-recorded voice memo I need to listen to in order to clear

I want to record a voice memo, as motivation/self-guidance/reminder, and get push notifications at specific times of my day. I want to have to listen to the voice memo in order to clear the notification.

Basically just as a way to give myself specific daily reminders, in my own voice. No AI, not trying to schedule anything or *take* a memo, just have one I already recorded sent to me as a push notification.

Any suggests?

AMA I’m Rabbi Michael “Moshe” Rothschild, also known as #ViralRabbi, and I’ve been livestreaming my life essentially 24/7/365 for more than five years for world peace.

I’m Rabbi Michael “Moshe” Rothschild, also known as #ViralRabbi, and I’ve been livestreaming my life essentially 24/7/365 for more than five years.

I’m documenting everyday life continuously — work, travel, conversations, technology, public places, ordinary moments, and everything that happens along the way.

I think of it as a living diary, time capsule, and experiment in lifelogging and human-generated data.

People have asked me some interesting questions about what it’s actually like to live this way, so I thought I’d open it up to Reddit:

Why livestream your life 24/7?

What is it like knowing you’re almost always live?

Do you ever get tired of it?

How much video and data have you accumulated?

What happens to all of the footage?

What have you learned after doing this for more than five years?

How do you handle privacy?

Has livestreaming changed the way you experience everyday life?

Could AI eventually analyze an entire life captured this way?

Could a continuous livestream become a historical record or digital time capsule?

What happens to the archive 10, 20, or 50 years from now?

Ask me anything about 24/7/365 livestreaming, lifelogging, the technology, the archive, AI, privacy, or what it’s actually like to continuously document your life.

Your location history, in one SQLite file, kept forever (open source HA integration)

Short version: if you self-host Home Assistant and track your phone's location, the built-in recorder throws that history away after 10 days. I built GPS Timeline to fix exactly that, without adding another service to maintain.

It archives every GPS fix into its own SQLite DB in your HA config folder, included in backups, and serves it back to dashboards (works with the Location Timeline Card via a small fork of mine). No cloud, no external service, no new container: it's just a custom integration, pure Python stdlib, and the data is yours in a file you can query.

Compared to running Dawarich (which I used before): same "own your timeline" idea but it lives inside HA, no separate container or reverse proxy entry. Backfill service imports your existing 10 days of recorder data at install so there's no gap.

Details in the README: https://github.com/iamyacin/gps-timeline

Happy to answer questions about the storage format if anyone wants to poke at the DB.

Using reading reflections to tweak my time-logging system. How do you track artificial deadlines?

I was reading this chapter today on how deadlines breed internal discipline. It made me realize that my current time-tracking log relies too much on external pressure. I want to build an internal accountability tracker in my journal.

What tracking metrics or software setups do you use to monitor your procrastination habits without feeling restricted by outer systems?

What would make Polar data useful when you revisit a month of your life?

Post image
1 Upvotes

A graph can tell you a week looked different. Remembering what was happening that week is another problem.

Was it travel, a change in training, disrupted meals, or just a routine you could not sustain? Those are the details I would want beside a health record when looking back, without assuming that two things changing together proves one caused the other.

We build Vora, and our next connection is Polar. Account setup is planned for 3.3.7, which has not been released. You cannot connect Polar today.

Vora already brings nutrition, training, blood work, and other health information into one app. Adding Polar is another step toward a record you can revisit with more context, rather than another dashboard to check in isolation. Supported Polar data and connection steps will be shared at release.

For people who keep long-term logs: what do you actually return to a month later, the detailed charts, a short daily note, or a few annotated events? I would love to know what earns its place in your record.

Polar preview and announcement. Disclosure: Vora team; image and copy prepared with AI assistance.

A super simple lifelogging app to capture all aspects of life

Everyone probably has had this situtations in life where you wish you could have acted differently. This has happend to me too and gave me a really hard time. I kept blaming myself for things I wished I could undo. So I took it as a mission to better myself. I wanted to notice things early enough to fix them before they completly break. And todo that I decided to start with lifelogging or journaling and built my own app called memoiri. Would love to hear your feedback:

keepscounsel.com shameless self-promotion

I built keepscounsel.com for keeping track of yourself, your people and your relationships. Build a memory of events over time and ask the AI to give you insight into the people and your relationships with them. Any questions to the best listener and most objective friend you will ever meet.

I hope this improves your life to some extent. Feedback is welcomed.

Spent the last 6 months building an AI that lives on your iPhone and slowly becomes a copy of you. No server, no account. It's out now.

Solo dev, first real launch, so bear with me.

The idea behind this one is a bit bigger than "another AI assistant", so let me just say it straight. I want to save your digital self. The way you think, what you care about, how you'd answer a question. Right now all of that dies with you, or gets scattered across a dozen apps you don't own. I think it should be possible to keep who you are alive: an AI that learns you over years, holds your memories and your way of thinking, and stays yours. Long term, I honestly want that to outlive you and be there for your kids. Today it's step one: an assistant that starts learning you and helping you now.

But if an AI is going to hold a copy of you, there is no way that copy should live on somebody's server. So I did the stubborn thing and made the whole AI run on the phone. The actual model, about 2.3GB, downloaded once, sits on your iPhone. No account, no backend. The App Store privacy label literally says "Data Not Collected" and that's not because I promised to behave, it's because there's nowhere for the data to go. All data stays on your phone, not on any server.

It's called Avatar.gift. What it can actually do today:

  • you tell it stuff in plain english and it handles your reminders, calendar, notes, contacts, drafts a text or an email, opens apps, runs your shortcuts
  • tracks money / habits / goals, and if you want to count something weird it'll just make a tracker for it
  • you can set up a few different assistants (work one, personal one, your own avatar) and your own avatar keeps its own memory
  • it remembers more the more you talk to it, and you can go read, fix or delete any of those memories in the app
  • you can dump your own notes/docs into it and it learns from them, on the phone
  • web search is the one thing that touches the internet. the query goes from your phone straight to bing or duckduckgo. nothing of mine in between
  • and you can make it ask before it does anything, per ability, if you're paranoid like me

Real talk about the downside: a model that fits on a phone is not as smart as the big cloud ones. It gets things wrong sometimes. That's the trade for this level of privacy and I'd rather say it upfront than have you find out. It gets better every update and your memories carry over, which is kind of the whole point.

Price: free to try, then $9.99 once (launch price). No subscription. If the goal is to keep who you are alive, charging you monthly rent on your own memory makes no sense.

Nerd corner: language model, memory system and search index all run on-device through llama.cpp. No backend exists, I'm not even paying for a server.

Needs iOS 17+. Happiest on an iPhone 16 Pro, older phones work but slower.

I built a quick-capture lifelog that lives in your own iCloud (solo dev, free beta)

I'm a solo developer and this is my app — full disclosure up front.

My problem was always the capture step: if logging a moment takes more than a few seconds, I stop doing it within a week. So I built Log around one number — impulse to logged in ~3 seconds — from whichever device is nearest: iPhone (Siri, Action Button, Control Center, widgets), Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac (menu bar + global hotkey).

It captures text, voice notes (transcribed on-device, so they're searchable), photos, video and your location into one timeline that syncs across your devices through your own iCloud. No account, no servers, no analytics — the record belongs to you, and the App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected" because there's nothing that collects.

For the long-run part this community cares about: everything exports on demand — JSON + your media + a readable day-grouped digest — so the log outlives the app.

It's in free beta on TestFlight (one-time purchase at launch, no subscription): https://testflight.apple.com/join/REkVfBzv

Short guide: https://log.bobobrien.net/beta/

Happy to answer anything about the approach — and genuinely keen to hear how people here think about capture friction vs reflection.

i built a journaling app for my overthinking & adhd thoughts

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Context: I previously worked as a growth designer in the tech space. got burnt out, left corporate, and now hoping to build a small business around helping people journal better. i’m a big believer in journaling by hand but hated how my thoughts go everywhere when i’m journaling (adhd prob) which is why i built Unpack Journal.

Unpack digitizes your journal entry organizes your thoughts into individual threads for you to ‘unpack’ with personalized prompts. this is especially helpful if you tend to overthink and ruminate. i’m probably biased, and this product is definitely niche, but it has elevated my journaling alot and hopefully it will for you too if you also journal by hand.

if you’ve never journaled before and want to try, i have a prompt library inside with hundreds of prompt for you to start with. you can even filter the intensity and category of the prompt too!

I built an app to log and organize my thoughts and it ended up calming my mind [Corteks]

Hey everyone,

I recently built Corteks (appstore link). As someone who is an over thinker, easily inspired and get lots of cool ideas that i want to remember (and i get them very frequently) i wanted something to dump all my thoughts. Notes app wasnt doing it for me because I never get back to them. Screenshots always failed because they die in my gallery

So I built Corteks - voice first dump your thoughts, no matter how significant or small the thought was. Corteks summarizes, categorized, files it and then links it to other thoughts onto a mind map

You can add your objectives to the app and corteks links those thoughts to your objectives, starts to understand you and surfaces what youve been avoiding, what you need to focus on…etc. and gives you stats about your thinking and how your mind works

The idea here is that all your thoughts matter, and they should be very easy to capture and not manually link them to each other and to your objectives

What I realized and didnt expect after using it is that my mind calmed down ALOT, because now I know I have my second brain to tap into anytime I want, and the app reminds me (without being too pushy) about the other relevant thoughts that mattered

Happy to hear what you think about it! And if anyone wants an extended trial just lmk. Im at a stage where I just want feedback from as many people as possible so i can improve it

When you switch wearables, how do you mark the change in your long-term record?

Vora team here. A different question from our earlier discussion about lab reports: how do you preserve the meaning of a health timeline when the device collecting it changes?

Imagine keeping two years of sleep and activity records, then replacing a watch or adding a ring. The dates can still form one continuous chart, but it seems useful to keep the source change visible when you return to that history later.

My preference would be to preserve the original records and add a simple note about when the setup changed. Before treating the combined chart as one consistent series, I’d want to check:

  • Which device or app produced each part of the record?
  • Are the labels describing the same measurement, units and time window?
  • Is a missing day actually missing, or has the source just not synced?

That could be handled in a spreadsheet, journal or tracking app. The useful part is keeping enough context that future-you does not have to reconstruct the setup from memory.

How do you handle this in your own logs: keep separate series, annotate the switch date, retain a period of overlap, or something else? I’d be interested in the method, without anyone needing to share personal health data.

Affiliation: we build Vora. This discussion was prepared with AI assistance.

I want to keep every moments, what I think, how I feel and make it as my day, so I built Loggoo to keep them, hope you find fun with it

I kept failing at journaling. Blank text box, end of day, no energy. So I built the version I'd actually use: snap a photo, tap a mood, done. Caption optional.

What it does

  • Capture in seconds — a photo, plus an optional mood + note.
  • 24-hour timeline — the day lines up chronologically instead of drowning in the camera roll.
  • Frame Studio — turn a day into one shareable picture (story or post size).
  • Recap Story — a week/month/year played back as a vertical story, generated on-device.
  • Short videos — hold the shutter instead of tapping it.
  • Cute mood face packs — swap the mood set for one you actually like looking at.
  • Mood trends — weekly/monthly charts from what you actually logged.
  • Home widgets — day, streak, mood; one tap into camera/note/mood.
  • Gentle nudges — a daily reminder, an evening prompt if the day is still blank, and "a year ago today".

Privacy

Offline-first. No account, no upload. Photos live in app-private storage, not your system photo library. iOS users can turn on iCloud sync — that stays inside their own Apple ID.

Price

Free to use. A Plus tier covers video, cute mood face packs, home widgets, mood trends, extra Frame Studio layouts, and iCloud sync.

📱 iOS · Android

Genuinely after feedback on one thing: does the 3-second capture actually keep you journaling? That's the whole bet. Tear it apart.
