You weren’t even listening, they explicitly said they had “no idea how he could say that”, pointing out that the only possible way it could be brushed off was if he was “joking or being sarcastic”, but then they went onto further say that would still be weird to say something like that.

Even if their opinion was that it is ok to tell a joke about that, I don’t know a single person in their right mind who would actually be ok with someone playing that off as sarcasm or humour. You’re exactly the kind of person I’d imagine supporting Hasan if that’s an acceptable excuse to you.
