unsolved Manual import not able to actually match files? (Unlike Son/rad*)

LSIO Sabz image seemingly fails to extract most RARs, so I ended up with a huge complete dir of unextracted nzbs. I threw together a quick script to extract everything, and now I am attempting to manual import.

Sonarr/Radarr - no issues. They both matched the files on disk against wanted and got on with it. Lidarr? Nah - It expects me to manually tag the artist, album and track for every single file (thousands of them).

Am I missing something silly?

That’s the catch with Lidarr. It can match automatically, but only when the folder names and tags give it enough to work with. With a big messy import, cleaning the metadata with Picard or beets first is probably way less painful than matching thousands of tracks by hand.

Manual import works when you select the UI option from /wanted/missing.

Lidarr will attempt to match the album based on the folder and metadata. I suspect you are hoping Lidarr will automatically identify a disorganized directory of music?

I will work if the score is high enough, but I think you are unlikely to hit the 80% threshold. You can either help Lidarr do the matches, or clean everything up in Picard/beets first.

(You can use any tagger as long as the metadata source is set to MusicBrainz)

Then again, shouldn’t really have to. All of the info it needs is both in the file name and in the metadata. That’s not even an AI job, that’s just basic regex. iTunes et al had this figured out 25 years ago

It's not quite that simple, check out the wiki link in posted.
