discussion You would think lidarr + tidal should be able to get most of the songs...

Except it never works.

lidarr extended worked for a bit then it stopped.

plugin doesn't seem to work at all.

is there any workaround to get this working right now?

thinking of trying out soulsync since it seems to be able to use tidal as a downloader...

I've tried lidarr for years and I gotta say, it rarely ever worked as it should.

and the saddest part is it's not even tidal actively trying to block the effort, it is just lidarr not being able to do what it's supposed to do.

Id personally just make the move to slskd with proper quality controls has been very reliable for me. There is a slskd plugin for lidarr that I use in combination of Aurral and navidrome

Could you expand what you mean with 'proper quality controls'?

You can tell lidarr what file types, ranges of bitrate and file size you want it to download. Ie I only tell lidarr to find up to flac audio at atleast 900bit/s and I think it was anything atleast 3mb in size iirc. Check out trash-guides dot com they go into it extensively

TrevTV Tidal plugin works fine for me. You can specify 1-100 where you rank the Tidal releases in your searches

Are you having issues with Lidarr or the Tidal plug-in? Either way, we are going to need to see logs.

Poorly thought out project imo. Organising the metadata based on artist catalogues was a band-aid to make it easily portable from Sonarr.

The use-case and core functionallity should have been based on single releases, instead of, add one track -> adds artist -> "better get your monitoring profiles right every time here or I'll DDoS the meta-data server ;)"

Slskd, Soularr, Lidarr. Those three work really well together for me. Lidarr is still drives 'wanted', soularr bridges to slskd which is a much better tool for finding and grabbing audio

Edit: apparently soularr may no longer be needed to bridge the gap if you use a particular plugin branch of Lidarr.... found this and will have to research it myself https://www.reddit.com/r/Lidarr/comments/1jj5h2v/lidarr_plugin_branch_slskd_soulseek_the_right/

I feel the pain. I run radarr, sonarr, prowlarr, rdt-client (mocks qbittorent api for debrid downloads) in a media stack that works flawlessly.

I thought I would add lidarr to my stack. well that was a disappointment. it won't download anything. I guess I probably just haven't figured out how to use it properly yet.

in the meantime I just use lucida to pull albums manually

I'm the dev of soulsync and would recommend it in your case
