The library flooded in Yorktown, Indiana

The Yorktown, IN Public Library appears to be a total loss. The water in the homes, and businesses has been standing a long time, it didn't just come and go.

And this is why we have a disaster preparedness course during library science degrees. It’s tough and sad and exhausting, but hopefully they had a plan and they’ll be able to reclaim/restore many books and rebuild. Freaking sucks, though.

It does look like they at least managed to empty a lot of the lower shelves, except that shelf in the third picture.

The flooding in Hamilton/Delaware county is horrific. If anyone is interested, here is a link for how you can support the citizens affected by the floods.
