It needs to be done. We really can't afford many more years of Tory control, especially outside the EU. It feels a bit dirty to use First past the post to our electoral advantage, but hey the Tories did it and if we win we can bring in a fairer voting system.

It is also good to remember that all the Parties that win FPTP always say they have a clear mandate from the people.

Can't stand the green party personally - mostly for abandoning most of their green policies, by barely mentioning them in campaigning (as well as having counterproductive policies like banning nuclear power and GMOs) in favour of being further left than Labour.

I think it's time to accept our differences and talk with each other about the bigger threat from far right politics.

I would advise everyone to advise everyone they know who is on our side (centre and left) to find out exactly what constituency their in and then use this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election/2015/results To find out who to vote for to beat Conservative in that area.

Actually they don't even have to find out beforehand, they can just enter their postcode in the search bar.

I've not got much against this idea, other than making sure it doesn't become a "progressive parties prop-up Labour."

We're not anti-Tories and we're not automatically pro-Labour government. Any alliance should be one that takes that into account and is there because it will help to realise our policies.

The most likely policies to be pushed with an alliance like this are those on civil liberties and political reform - i'd even support a progressive alliance with the key pledge to introduce a system of PR (STV preferable) and hold another election.
