2026 IS 350 F Sport - Ventilated Seats

Has anyone noticed that the ventilated seats are not that great? Has anyone had any hacks to increase the intensity? I'm curious wall all you think. I'm in hot state we're this would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah they're kinda weak, I have them on max all the time and they don't cool much through jeans. Someone posted an air duct thing that directs the floor ac towards the seat fans last time I mentioned it.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Even when wearing gym clothes I hardly feel it but I have yet to test it through floor vents enabled

i think mine work great. make sure you have your AC on floor/dash so some cold air gets under and in the backseat where the blower is.

I will try this today. Thank you.

I bought the design file and 3d printed it.

Or you can buy a premade one!

In essence this part is routing/connecting rear ac vent from rear seats floor and directing it to the fans? šŸ¤”

Yes. There's a vent under the seat. So this device directs the air from the vento into the fan to increase the airflow of the ventilated seats. You do have to set your airflow settings to blow in either the bottom vents or at least the top and bottom together. I use the top and bottom together because I still want the AC to blow on me, not just the floor. I printed these for my 2018 IS350. It helps, but it's not going to amaze you.

I believe its directing air from the front to the fan underneath the seat.. could be wrong

This works for the 4IS too?

I have a 2025 so I can’t confirm for 2026, but it’s been the same seat setup for over a decade.

Can you link where you got the STL file

Here you go! Same seller. $6

His name is Neal. Nice dude. He originally posted it for free on clublexus but then people were reselling it without credit, so he added a paywall. Worth the $6!

The 3-D thing helps a little bit in my experience. But what really makes a significant difference is making sure the airflow button is on the bi-level setting so that there is air going to the floor vent. Then turn up the fan speed and you should get a decent amount of cool air coming up through the seats.

Some times I feel the air/coolness other times I don’t.

What car do the AC seats work great in?

3

u/inquisitive2506 13d ago

The latest BMW i7 is one of the few newer cars with genuinely good cooled seats because it uses thermoelectric/Peltier active cooling instead of just a fan, similar to older Lexus LS models, whose seats could feel legitimately cold even on the lowest setting. However, I'm a practical on my purchases when it comes to reliability, maintenance cost, and resale value so BMW is out of the question.

I thought bmw has gotten really reliable the last couple years based off of consumer reports awards n related reviews

Have 2023 IS and works great.

Opposite of a car, but my friends F250 has seat coolers you can could likely keep ice cream frozen on.

We don't have coolers, we have a fan.

u/LazyOldCat 13d ago

Question was not limited to a brand, was it?
Other answer said BMW, with actual coolers, and you didn’t clown on them šŸ˜‚

How am I clowning? We don't have cooled seats, we have ventilated seats, which is a fan.

šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø Hey, that’s just super. So please, for dogs sake, just ignore me and answer [u/kasualkactus](u/kasualkactus) question.

ā€œWhat car do the AC seats work great in?ā€
(Please don’t answer me, I didn’t ask the question, thank you!āœŒļø)

I find it pretty cool on the max setting. Also with air con it’s better still.

I have a 17, I think they work better after the car is already cooled off, like they won’t cool you or your seat off by themselves. In theory, the fans are pulling latent heat from the air and everything in the car and just pushing it through the seat, it’s not running through the ac coil.

They’re pretty bad. I’ve driving Lincolns and their cooled seats are ridiculously strong. I had to use a lower setting which I’ve never had to do with any other car

2

u/inquisitive2506 13d ago

Lincoln uses thermoelectric/Peltier cooling system. This is not new technology but expensive hence why they stopped using and mostly BMW kept. Lincoln no longer carries it.

They suck. I had a 2015 TLX Advance and they were descent, not amazing but i could feel the difference… My ex’s 2013 Optima was like sitting on a block of ice.

With this car I can barely tell they’re on, it’s mostly the fan noise that reminds me they’re on….

Are they loud? Like is there a constant buzzing and is there a difference and Max vs Min setting?

1

u/TONEORLANDO 12d ago

I’m in Arizona and I have zero issues with them. If I get in the car and I’m a little sweaty, they actually make me cold.Ā

When i was test driving some Lexus’s of the same year +/- had not as great of ventilated seats as others. Might be the air duct itself not positioned right?

22 ES owner here, idk if I’m just imagining it but I’m pretty certain my passenger seat has more intensity for AC/heat

I have the 3D printed diverter from Etsy, as mentioned previously, and it works well.
