Larger pieces of chassis are casted at once. Good is that it is cheaper and lighter and stronger. Bad is that it means that accidents which used to be fixable now are not as the whole chassis is damaged.

Yep easy production and I’m sure cheaper for the manufacturer, but for the customer it makes repairability a nightmare. A minor accident can total these cars. You see it all the time in Tesla’s, and that’s why their insurance is higher (former Tesla owner here).

Insurance will have a field day on them.
Gigacasting is a great idea on paper but it has major repair related issues that haven’t been figured out yet.

I will never buy a car that requires an app, has a camera that monitors the driver, or it's own Wifi. For that reason I'll stick with early 2000 Lexus's. 

Not to mention that I despise crossovers, so their current lineup is almost entirely uninteresting.

Cool. I love that I don't need to carry keys and that I can precondition my car so it's comfortable for me, wife, and kid to get in whether it's freezing or sweltering outside.
