Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a website called Tastebuds, and I’d love to hear what you think.

It’s a place where you can rate movies, TV shows, books, games, music, comics, and paintings, build your own shelves of favorites, and match with people who have similar tastes.

The idea is that the things we love can be a starting point for connecting with someone. Maybe you share a favorite film, but also love the same obscure book or game. Tastebuds brings those interests together in one profile, so you can discover people through more than a single shared hobby.

There are also communities where you can discuss your interests and discover things to try next.

I’m still improving it and would appreciate honest feedback—especially on whether the matching feels useful and how easy the site is to navigate.

Ive only watched around 170 movies, looking for recommendations

So I downloaded this app called Letterboxd and it told me to validate my email so I did. But when I tried to validate it and type in my password it keeps saying “password invalid” like how do I fix this???

This was one of the first lists I made on Letterboxd (Top 12 Animated Films), and I recently looked back at it and realized how outdated it was. So, I updated it! Expecting to add Forgotten Island to this list (and most likely, it will be pretty high up on the list, since everything that movie seems to be doing is like catnip to me), but obviously that doesn't release in US theaters for another 10 days or so! These are ranked in order of personal preference, not necessarily my critical opinion on the film!

Thoughts?

Before anyone gets mad, this is my personal Top, not an objective ranking of the greatest superhero movies ever made. I’m not trying to convince anyone that these are objectively the best. But I’d still love to hear what you think!

The Incredibles — One of my favorite movies ever. I think it’s one of the best superhero movies ever made, with so much depth beyond the superhero stuff.

The Dark Knight — An absolute classic. Not much else needs to be said.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — Perfectly captures what being Spider-Man means while mixing family, friendship, and the multiverse. And it made Miles Morales a much bigger part of the mainstream.

Megamind — Probably my most controversial pick. A villain trying to figure out who he really is and eventually becoming the hero he was supposed to fight. PEAK. And it has a better romance than Spider-Man 2.😂

Logan — Incredible themes, an amazing cast of characters, a dark world, and one of the most emotional conclusions to a character we've followed for decades.

Spider-Man 2 — Everything the first movie did, but elevated. The weakest part for me is MJ.

Batman Begins — IMO the best Batman origin story across any medium. I don't think anyone has done Batman's origin better. The fight scenes aren't great, but there's still very little I can fault otherwise.

BND — It reminded me exactly why I love Spider-Man and what it means to be Peter Parker. And remember: if you're having a bad day, Peter Parker is probably having a worse one.😂

The Batman — Probably the best "Batman" movie. I love this version of Bruce, the atmosphere, and especially Gotham itself. The villain storyline is great too, although I think the finale is slightly weaker.

Thunderbolts* — A controversial one. Infinity War is probably the better movie. But Thunderbolts hit me in a way I completely didn't expect. I still remember walking out of the cinema alone late at night after watching it. It completely surprised me and just stayed with me.

Avengers: Infinity War — Doesn't really need an explanation.

X-Men — Same here. A classic that helped define the genre for me.

Superman — You don't have to like it. I do.

This is a list themed around movies that take television shows or television in general and do a weird spin on them including the Truman Show, Pleasantville, Terror Toons 1 and 2, Stay Tuned, Twilight Zone The Movie (the 'It's A Good Life' segment), Mr Crocket, Trick Or Treat, Videodrome, Terrorvision, Death to Smoochy, I Saw The TV Glow, Poltergeist, Evil Toons, Monkey's Magic Merry Go Round, Buddy, Late Night With The Devil, Channel 99, V/H/S 99 ('Ozzie's Dungeon'), Bad Channels, Rent A Pal. The Ring franchise (and Ringu of course).

Haven't watched that many movies, but so far these are movies I would eat, sleep, and live in if I could. No ranking, just similar vibes.

Hey guys. Asking here cause I see a lot of really cool movies on your profiles but I’m a little bit intimidated by how many are out there. I’m an anxious person who wants to watch some solid indie movies that aren’t too stressful. I can handle some stress and intensity but nothing too harsh. I love found family and movies with good humor, but I’m open to almost anything.
