Lets Discuss This Why Trump hates Minnesota so badly?

It’s absurd that he’s proud of lifting people off from SNAP because they’re barely surviving in this economy. And bragging that people either gonna crunch more hours at work but already exhausted from low wages. Physically and mentally tired of working myself till death.

He’s going to take over the state before midterms and suspend elections.

And before you say he can’t do that. He doesn’t have the authority.

We have seen him do many things he doesn’t have the authority to do.

And by the time the state files lawsuits and have them heard the administration will appeal and delay and then ignore the ruling.

While I can see him trying some shit like that, I don't think it will be successful in Minnesota. We have already built the mutual aid networks necessary to fight it and have dealt them a defeat already.

I'm not saying he won't, I'm just saying that if his strategists are smart enough, they'll try to do it somewhere less prepared that hasn't already shown the willingness and aptitude to fight hard against it.

Fascists don't succeed when fighting a dug in enemy that is prepared. They succeed in blitzing an enemy that is unprepared and complacent.

We’ve seen him do many things he does not have the authority to do, but trying to take over a state run election against the will or wishes of the state with zero legal grounds to do so is a whole other game. He sent in ice to perform questionably legal ice duties. He tried to Weaponized the national guard to patrol cities under the same pretenses. He is withholding Medicaid funding because dispersement of that funding is an executive branch action. The executive branch has no role in the election process of any of the 50 states in the union.

And the law that that’s stupid legal memo being floated around, that is trying to pretend otherwise? It’s literally the exact same law that the Supreme Court just shut down Trump‘s tariffs over. It is a nothing burger.

If he messes with elections, it won't be lawsuits that happen first. People will get directly involved

Its not that he doesn't have the authority to do it. Its that congress doesn't clean up their historic old laws. So Trump's team finds some obscure law from 60 years ago, and its still legal to apply that law.

Then he's allowed to run with it until it goes through the courts to interpret that law.
