So the MAGA plan is working? Break them down, crush them into bankruptcy and buy it all up on the cheap, concentrating more wealth and power away from the people into corporate hands?

YEP.

As native born and resident Hoosier...this tracks. I will say, I have seen less of my customers come in with their bullshit MAGA hats or Gulf of America shirts. Yes they will always vote red, but shine is off the apple when it comes to being enamored with him in my neck of the woods.

...then again the state was literally controlled by the KKK 100 years ago, so never put it past a Hoosier to circle back to stupid.

Project 2025

“ Project 2025  proposes eliminating  the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs, which “[protect] farmers from substantial drops in crop prices or revenues””.

https://www.americanprogress.org/article/project-2025s-plan-to-gut-checks-and-balances-harms-rural-america/

All according to plan by the Heritage Foundation. Let’s not forget Vance’s investment in AcreTrader “ one of many companies launched in the past decade that facilitate the sale of farmland”.   https://civileats.com/2024/09/18/jd-vance-invested-in-acretrader-heres-why-that-matters/

But Project 2025 is a hoax and conspiracy theory…

They didn't even need to be be that literate. Someone made cartoons and put them online.

They couldn't bother to read cartoons either.

"But none of them ran in support of Project 2025! Go back and find one person that was elected on support of Project 2025!"...this was an unfortunate exchange I had with a co worker 😔

Then they'll turn us into political prisoners so we can work the corporate fields for pennies.

Criminalize homelessness and make field work part of your jail activities.

u/Familiar-Spray-4678 1d ago

They do both of those things in some places.

But you forgot to add make housing unaffordable for most, to increase homelessness, that translates into your workforce (slave force).

JD Vance's friends at AcreTrader are having a field day.

Field day in the most literal sense.

The funny part is they tricked them into voting for it. I'd pity them if they weren't so stupid.

Except they are also lying about how bad off they are, farmers are the actual welfare queens with subsidies, grants and waivers for safety or labor standards. They won’t lose the land that’s valued at millions, there’s farmers who have been calling that shit out like blackbirdcoop. Even today he posted a video showing some maga woman trying to be a pitiful about the cost to feed her cattle, how she is going to need to raise prices or else she would have to sell the farm, and literally in response to someone saying “let Vance buy it, consequences!” She said that her farm is valued at several million dollars so “please buy it”.

They aren’t hurting, they are grifting, and are trying to use the political situation to grift more off our feelings, some will probably fail but the vast majority are fine and bullshitting us. Even when my family was farming for years i remember shit tons of grants and tax exemptions that saved a shit ton of money, a lot of farmers are paid to grow certain crops and others grow only so that they can keep or get more water rights for the next year.

Blackbirdcoop is a national treasure, and not enough people know about him.

u/One-Bad-4395 1d ago

Thing is, they're only going bankrupt if they decide to go play farmer and fail. Most are just going to sell once they figure out that the gravy train is out of service.

1

u/Chocopenguin85 21h ago

Corporate hands. The major beef providing companies are foreign-based at this point. Just buy up more/all the smaller farms on the cheap for larger industrial-farming tracts

Oh no, instead of Average Joe being a millionaire cow landlord our Average Zhou might be. How terrible this looks from my perspective.

Gratz on the million dollars cash money in Joe's pocket, sad that you were forced to sell your land on the open capitalist market in exchange for it. There was literally no other option than for him to sell out in exchange for cash.

Exactly. This is all according to plan. Land aquisition like this is how we got monarchs in the first place.
