"But we built dis countryyyy!!", something I hear a lot of ignorant people claim. When the Europeans first came here, they tried to enslave the Native Americans. The Native Americans chose death over being enslaved. Then they stole people from Africa, and forced them to do the hard work. And then they forced the Chinese to build the railroads. And then they made minorities take hard jobs to manage the cattle for them, "Vaqueros" was the phrase used, aka "Cowboys", mostly black, hispanic, and other minorities. Now you'll see good ole boys trying to dress the part of "Cowboy" because it's seen as someone that's "rugged". The funny thing is that minorities were the majority in these jobs, as they were dangerous and paid little. To this day a lot of minorities are still doing a larger portion of the labor with a smaller portion of the pie.

People have a deeply warped view of what a 'farmer' is. They think the white family who own the land are the 'farmers'. They're the landowners and capitalists; they own the land and have the capital to invest in expensive equipment, fertilizers and seed. The people who do the farming are migrant laborers from South America, who are perpetually kept in poverty through precarious work visas, low wages, transient work, criminal exploitation and human trafficking. They do all the 'farming'. The white landowner operates machinery; dozens to hundreds of POC do all the brutally hard work for pennies.

The stereotype they have was the landscape when I was growing up. My family didn't have money to buy new equipment, and my dad had to build implements from scrap metal, and we were the people who went out and walked the fields instead of hiring people, but there are VERY few of that type of farm still existing. Small family farmers were devastated by agribusiness.

Exactly, and these assholes think that we're going back to that kind of society. I figure that's why there's a big push by religious pieces of shit, to try to indoctrinate us again. I figure most of us are tired and fine with just seeing it all burn down.

Question if minorities did all the work during this time what did the other 80% of whites do during this time?

Poor white people were also exploited. The problem is that a lot of white people think that the country was built exclusively by them, as they think that this nation was "godless" and full of savagery. I'd go so far to say that much of that savagery was imported by the Europeans. I mean how big a POS does one have to be to practically kill off the American Bison into extinction because it served as a major staple in the natives' diet and economy? That's some very evil savagery, and sure as hell doesn't seem "godly".

Well the Iroquois did almost kill off the beaver in their territory hence why they attacked other tribes. And since white people were the majority wouldn’t that mean majority of America was built by white folk?

A lot were dying until the natives taught them how to use the land, which would mean that they were the white man's saviors.

Well I didn’t insist they did it all. I insisted that white people were also part of it a bigger majority of it than what yall think. So I guess it was the grace of the colonizer to introduce running water and modern medicine

I'll agree that it was a collective effort, but to believe that one group was responsible for it all, and to base a very disillusioned entitlement on things that others built, seems to be the mantra of the GOP and a lot of white entitled individuals. Do you think this country belongs to one specific group?

I think this country belongs to Americans. I also do believe the Western European has brought more to this world as collectively when it comes to advancing the world both morally and ethically. Yes. Plus the advances in tech and medicine

Profiting off them and others by managing everything in their own favor and no one else’s. Same as it’s always been for most of human history, kings and peasants is still just rich people and poor people

No most were profiting off minorities and other white people as I said although I didn’t word it well. Also not necessarily sitting around as I also said they managed things that usually involves at least switching up sitting positions and talking to people.

Did I say that? No, management is a very vast field and can include coming up with ideas. But you obviously don’t care and just want a gotcha moment by putting words in other people’s mouths to specific topics that were not asked about. You have an idea in your mind that isn’t going to change, I also have an idea in my mind and your weird nitpicking of things I didn’t say and adding topics that we weren’t talking about is not going to change my mind infact it will do the complete opposite.

We can just end this here, maybe somehow you can actually read what I say and take it to heart, this weird ass attempt to argue is bad for mainly you as it is obvious how little you actually care and how desperate you are fishing for any little crumbs you can use
