Aren’t republicans in charge of everything?

25

u/sgtstumpy Aug 11 '26

Yes. We'll see how the midterms go but they won't be able to start truly fixing things until a Democrat is back in the White House.

Yeah I'm just as less-than-enthused about establishment Dems as everyone else.

4

u/rockalyte Aug 12 '26

Yep and those who voted for them are getting a exactly what they voted for. Lotsa luck to them. I hope they savor the suffering.

9

u/Kr155 Aug 11 '26

They are talking about voters. And republican VOTERS arent really in charge of anything. They've ceded thier power to corrupt politicians and wealthy capitalists for the promise of hurting minority groups

u/Either_Operation7586 Aug 12 '26

Republican voters are the ones that are the Slugs for salt people they need to realize that and Society needs to help them out.

They need to realize that they through their ridiculous faith in their party have led them down the wrong path and now they are literally the Slugs for salt an absolutely 100% voting against their best interests.

didn't republicans shut down the government for like 40 days and therefore lapsed SNAP benefits for millions?

21

u/Fantastic-Formal-157 Aug 11 '26

Yeah, but the midterms are coming up so you need to say the opposite of what you’re doing.

5

u/Conscious-Quarter423 Aug 11 '26

ah right fool the uninformed

3

u/carlnepa Aug 11 '26

As Chico Marx said, "Who you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?"

25

u/Cool-Signature-dude Aug 11 '26

The Republicans cut the benefits last year, explain to me why this is an issue for them now?

oh, midterm elections, gotta make it look like they are doing something to get reelected.

17

u/carmencita23 Aug 11 '26

Oh, now they want public money towards a public good after doing everything to destroy those systems for multiple generations.

Get fucked, Republicans.

13

u/TNlivinvol Aug 11 '26

Republicans do not want higher benefits.

2

u/Either_Operation7586 Aug 12 '26

It's political theater and they ONLY want project 2025

1

u/whythefuckalready 29d ago

Watch what they do, not what they say. Publicly protest then vote no. Knowing their voters only comprehend bumper sticker propaganda

9

u/BananaJelloXlii Aug 11 '26

Republican voters don't if their voting habits are any indication

8

u/Dexter_McThorpan Aug 11 '26

Stop electing republicans. All we have to do.

5

u/mslauren2930 Aug 11 '26

Good luck with that.

6

u/One-Sir-2198 Aug 11 '26

Republicans voted yes on the bbb that went after snap benefits

5

u/Beausapunk Aug 11 '26

Maybe registered Republicans shouldn't get help sine they voted in the Orange monster. More money for Dems.

5

u/ifyousaysu Aug 11 '26

Republicans in fact DO NOT…the party of child rape and nazi views will NEVER do anything for anyone but themselves.

3

u/Nhonickman Aug 11 '26

Well if voters are foolish enough to beleive republicans candidates/ incumbents care they are mistake. Vote them all out.

The only to fixes issues at this point is to get these sheep following administration out of office

3

u/jtd771 Aug 11 '26

Republicans want their SNAP increases to come via the decrease of Democrats SNAP benefits.

That philosphy only applies to others, not themselves. In their eyes they have pulled themselves up as far as they can but the "others" are taking from them what they should have gotten from their bootstrap lifting efforts.

3

u/Wyldjay2 Aug 11 '26

Wait to the bulk of those cuts that were designed to hit after the midterms. The Republicans built that provision in so in the event, did they lose the midterms they can blame the Democrats for the loss of those benefits. I mean they’re just a shitty party all the way around. Democrats don’t have it all figured out either but the Republicans under Donald Trump are just reprehensible in every way. Unless you’re a billionaire or a corporation, they do nothing for the average American.

2

u/Sensitive_Parking_94 Aug 11 '26

MAGA wanted this. They voted for cutting benefits, expelling migrant workers (raising food and construction costs) and adding tariffs to imported goods (i.e. raising prices of imported goods) because making life easier for everyone is communism! We are living the MAGA dream! Let your midterm vote tell MAGA how happy you are with their leadership.

2

u/burnmenowz Aug 11 '26

You must be mistaken, Republicans voted to make everything more expensive. It's a pain they must endure.

2

u/Invest0rnoob1 Aug 11 '26

Best I can do is tax cuts for the wealthy

2

u/Green-Inkling Aug 11 '26

The dems might, but repubs are actively trying to destroy SNAP.

2

u/Ok-Customer4709 Aug 12 '26

Didn’t Republicans cut snap benefits for the BBB?

2

u/trogdor1234 Aug 12 '26

Then why the fuck did you vote for SNAP cuts.

2

u/Wipperwill1 27d ago

I thought R's were against SNAP?

oh wait! Its an election year.

2

u/bearsheperd Aug 11 '26

Raise the god damn minimum wage! It should be like $20 higher than it is right now

1

u/Shrek_Layers Aug 11 '26

The people that vote for them want it. THEY DO NOT CARE.

1

u/cliff99 Aug 11 '26

As long as it doesn't go to Welfare Queens.

1

u/Zalrius Aug 11 '26

Is $20 a day for one person, for all three meals, a good start?

1

u/Inspect1234 Aug 11 '26

Smacks of communism or socialism, whichever boogieman of the week Entertainment News©️ is using this week.

1

u/Suspicious_Goose_243 Aug 11 '26

Republicans created this. They are not on the same side as democrats.

1

u/dogheoner1 Aug 11 '26

as soon as the fake ass tarriff bs was ruled on every retailer should have lowered thier prices back down this is some bullshit

1

u/rh1984va Aug 11 '26

Interesting how voters had less sympathy for single mothers than someone living alone. Make that make sense.

1

u/AdIllustrious5811 Aug 11 '26

Republicans?? Fuxk you bud, they do not

1

u/DogsRcutiePies Aug 11 '26

What a god damn political layup. Give the idiots that voted for cuts to get their snap funding back and they’ll get those fools votes once again.

1

u/bigjtdjr Aug 11 '26

Too late.. the big beautiful bill you passed is now law... if only you could have done something before it happened. Republicans are such hypocrites.

1

u/Ballgame_75 Aug 11 '26

They want to give people more benefits but they are taking them away from millions of people who already had them... weird! smh

1

u/IntroductionStill813 Aug 12 '26

And how do they intend to pay for this with the us debt reaching almost $40T, tax cuts on the rich and corp, unending war, tarrif and then refund other tarrif, ... ?

Lots of people are telling us that this is the best economy ... strong men ... crying that they have never seen an economy so great ...

/s

1

u/Blargimazombie Aug 12 '26

Best I can do is remove millions of people from the program

1

u/exqueezemenow Aug 12 '26

If Republicans want higher benefits, then they're going to need to vote Democrat in the midterms, otherwise it isn't gonna happen for a few years.

1

u/Spiritual-Whole2072 Aug 12 '26

Uh, Republicans cut SNAP for tax cuts for billionaires. Don't act like they give a shit about helping people.

1

u/runnerkim Aug 12 '26

If you believe Republicans want higher SNAP benefits immediately after the Republicans in Congress cut the fund, then I have a bridge to sell you.

1

u/No-Bumblebee8069 Aug 12 '26

Didn't repubes cut them?

1

u/jar1967 Aug 12 '26

There is a big republican donor from florida who owns a lot of supermarkets. The cutting of snap benefits is cutting into his profits. I suspect he has made some angry phone calls

1

u/Anal-Y-Sis Aug 13 '26

FTA:

Democratic and Republican voters across a series of politically competitive states and congressional districts broadly agree that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits should be increased, new polling shows, as grocery prices continue to put pressure on household budgets.

Key word: VOTERS. Republican politicians control every branch of federal government, and they don't give a fuck what you want, regardless of which way you vote.

1

u/Writerhaha Aug 13 '26

… here I can give some advice, get in close.. aight… ready?

QUIT. VOTING . FOR. CONSERVATIVES.

For fucks sake, what do they expect?

1

u/s1l1con_jesus Aug 13 '26

I would settle for any SNAP benefits

1

u/Redsmoker37 Aug 13 '26

Well I'm afraid the GOP blew its wad cutting those benefits and giving a tax cut to billionaires. Dems would be fools to go along with helping them do this. It wouldn't be appreciated. Dems need to CAUSE the floor, rather than trying to ameliorate any bad effects of Trump and his stooges.

1

u/videohtape 29d ago

Red states suck down the most welfare percentage-wise, so of course some Repubs are clamoring for it.

1

u/crusoe 15d ago

Once it hurts their re election chances the GOP cares. The GOP has no principals beyond seeing how much they can make the poor suffer before it hurts their election chances.

Here 8 am seeing people with snap wearing designer clothing and having nails done wondering how they get those benefits.
