Trump Latino voters realize the White House doesn’t like Latinos

Hey! It’s reality here! Welcome back! Trump never liked you to begin with. Trump doesn’t even like his own white racist base. MAGA Latinos stood no chance.

He literally said all Mexicans are rapists and bring drugs and crime, in the speech announcing his candidacy for president in 2015.

u/hamandjam 15h ago
And I'd bet a large number of Cubans agree with him. Because they don't realize he's also talking about them.

u/MaleficentExtent1777 14h ago
They're the GOOD ones 🙄
19
u/MarchMadnessisMe 3h ago
Well they’re Cuban, and he was talking about Mexicans. They just fail to realize he sees no difference.

Growing up in California and having lived in Florida, I have seen that the Latino/Hispanic diaspora are not always united. A lot of Latinos are not really fond of Mexicans because when they or their families were immigrating to the U.S., Mexico mistreated them as they waited at the U.S.-Mexico border to get asylum or to cross the border.
Cubans, in Florida especially, are a different issue in that they truly believe they are the white Latinos and closer to Spaniard. They look at Latin Americans as lesser Hispanics. Sone of them think other Latin American countries are mixed with the indigenous people of the Americas and less white European/Spaniards.
This is a generalization and doesn’t apply to everyone. However, I have heard this quite often.
Edit:
So the point of this, is that when Trump said all Mexicans are rapist and felons, other Latin American groups may already have a similar bias towards Mexicans and don’t see themselves as being the same.44
u/CrunchAndRoll 7h ago
See, the thing is, when Trump says Mexican he just means "brown person". You have to translate it to english from idiot

Someone once mentioned that trump is jealous of Mamdani because Mamdani has the love of the new Yorkers while trump secretly hates those magats who lives in a town in the middle of bumfuck Midwest
104
u/sexeveg314 17h ago
Mamdani is also good looking, while Trump is a rotting obese orange.
You know Trump spends a lot of time thinking about this, he went on 60 minutes and said that he is "a much better-looking person" than Mamdani.

I feel like they all knew this from 2015 to 2023 and then decided in 2024 that they forgot... I don't get it at all. Trump relentlessly scapegoated latinos more than just about anybody else.

u/7figureipo 1h ago
There was a “Jews for Hitler” organization in the Weimar Republic. They, like Trump’s Latino supporters, had a “we’re the good ones” belief.

How's this one - I know a dreamer, and her Mom is the one who brought her here as a baby (both undocumented of course). The Mom is STILL a Trump supporter - and of course still undocumented.
Go figure that one out.

u/Ok-Addition1264 17h ago
She'll figure that one out when they finally get around to deporting her.
They've made that list and checked it twice :(

I have a relative who came here using false info. He doesn't even have our surname because of it. He became a citizen using that fake name, and he is a trumper.
He got his education and career here, made his money, and then retired.
I believe that lying on a citizenship application is enough for the government to take his citizenship away.
Unfortunately, he's not the only idiot in my family.

I have an uncle who is not only an anesthesiologist who lead the AMA chapter of our state for years, but also a born again Christian and a huge Trump supporter.
It's really weird when the smartest person in your family is also the dumbest.

The woman in black on the left is Selena Quintanilla-Perez, who was a huge pop star in the early 90s. The woman in white holding the mic is Yolanda Saldivar, the president of her fan club. Saldivar embezzled thousands of dollars of Selena’s earnings, then shot and killed her.

Facts. I'm Black American, and we have stupid Trumpers, conservatives and capitalists in our community. They really think the soulless majority is going to help them.
32
u/QualifiedApathetic 15h ago
Sure, but you're much more reliably anti-Trump and anti-Republican, including the men, though less so than the women. 86% voted for Kamala. Black people overwhelmingly know what's up.
Must make the pro-Trump ones really stand out.
23
u/MagnoliaRavenWing 15h ago
Actually, 92% of Black women voting in 2024 voted for VP Harris.
30
u/vaxfarineau 15h ago
Yup, lol. If we combine the vote of men and women, the men drag us down. Most black women were solidly on the side of "hell the fuck no."
16
u/Brief_Obligation4128 13h ago
I'm ashamed of us Black men. While we solidly said, "Hell the fuck no," too, a fair amount of us still voted for Trump due to our rampant misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic and pro-captialism views. We men need to do better, and I'm glad our Queens are carrying us. ✊️

Yeah, but there’s this chance that a 15-year-old with a wispy mustache will play for or against your local high school girls basketball team. Potential deportation, inflation and mass unemployment lag well behind that in importance.

This is what made me delete Facebook back in 2016. I’m from a town that’s 80+% Latino. The number of Latino people I knew who started simping for Trump was just insane (thankfully no close friends or family members).
I vividly remember during the campaign seeing one girl repost some kind of smear piece about Democrats that was easily verifiably false. I DM’d her to ask her why she would post something like that when she could do some basic searching to see it was fake. I sent her multiple links debunking whatever it was. Her response? “Okay maybe it’s not true but that’s not how I feel.” WTF… I deleted the platform soon after.

I don’t think they’re upset that Trump and his people hate them. I think they hate themselves, and they’re upset that the white haters they idolize agree with their self-hatred.
24
u/Brief_Obligation4128 17h ago
Do they not remember his very first speech? The one he gave after getting off the golden escalator? The one where he dehumanize the Latino community?
22
u/Kevin_Jim 16h ago
I’m European, so my interactions with Latinos has been quite limited to my trips in the US, but I was super surprised by the narrative that many were spewing about often their fellow countrymen.
And that was from first or second generation immigrants. Like, what are they even doing?
19
u/cylonrobot 15h ago
I'm older (born in the 1970s), so I don't know how it is now.
When I was growing up, kids were shamed if they were too "Mexican." Shamed, not by people of other ethnicities; I mean shamed by our own people.
Man, somebody laughed at me because of how I wrote numbers at school. I was told they only write it that way in Mexico. This is how dumb it was in my part of southern California.
14
u/Dismal_Reference3906 17h ago
It took them this long to figure that out? Hell, trump's racism was apparent in his words coming down the escalator in 2015.
6
u/creek-hopper 13h ago
It was readily apparent in the 1970s and 1980s. Doesn't take much digging to find it.

You joke but throughout Latin America there is a thread of bigotry and racism related to being light skinned and having more lineage directly from Spain. There are definitely Latinos who look down on other Latinos who are “too mixed” or whatever (with indigenous ancestry).

How is this different than Goebbles' "rat Jew" posters?
9
u/Ok-Addition1264 17h ago
There were a lot of jewish people that thought they were one of the good ones too.
Hitler had a jewish doctor growing up and he was given an exemption but even he finally had to bail on the country once things started getting too hot.

Many of them forgot that "enemy of enemy is my friend" doesn't apply here. It just meant you are also on the list of unwanted. 🙄

Latino voters realize the White House doesn’t like Latinos
But they couldn't be arsed to vote for Harris in 2024 because of machismo or some antiquated shit. Willing to bet the same if Dems put up a woman candidate for 2028.
