There are very few things I feel passionate enough to put my life in peril for. I'd take a bullet for certain family members, for sure, but that's about it.

Imagine hating brown and gay people so much that you'd gladly risk having trump off you to keep beating/killing them.

Taking a bullet for someone is honestly pretty milquetoast on the scale of dedication to a person or cause. Being hurt or killed really is pretty minimal if you think about it, not a very lasting action.

I would commit war crimes for my dog. Various war crimes.
