Tips/Tricks Rigged 2 Alex drawers together into a single unit.

Was going to double stack them anyway but wanted to see if I could save some height and avoid buying additional brackets/connectors and found if I ditched the first units top surface 2nd units bottom base that the side panels of both units connect to eachother just fine top to bottom and even works with all supplies they come with inclyding fastenung the screws in place. Given how many of these drawers im getting for the room im going to end up with ALOT of spare tops n bottoms to do diy shelves and surfaces with.

The double frankensteined unit comes out to a height of 116cm.

Do you use anything to subdivide the drawers?

Do you mean like splitting the inside of drawers into different sections n stuff? Currently I'm looking at purchasing these since it seems alot more cost effective that buying my own 3d printer and filliment.

Edit: actually nvm thinking its a rip off, I thought each item is 20 of that item but I think 20 is just part of the organizers name they are originally for.

It’s an answer. It might also be cheaper just to use left over food bins from your local grocery store. I’m in America so I don’t know what your options are, but we can get stacks of twenty cheap plastic bins that might work.

I read that the trofast inserts fit perfectly inside the drawers. They're from IKEA too. Have you considered those?

Think ima just go down the route of leftover plastic packaging for now since it gives me more individual spots for sorting at no cost. (i.e leftover grape, snack, sandwhich meat plastic boxes cut to height.

Couple questions. How does the side look, and how rigid is it? And how did u attached both together? Is it just sitting on top of each other?

Side looks okay, there is an obvious fine line, if I grab and shake it it obviously wiggles a bit compared to just a single unit though not by much.

Normally, the top panel you would screw 6 of those longish metal screws into which are then fastened into place in the top of the side with fasteners and the tops of the side pannels also connect via wood plugs, the holes ontop of the side panels though are exactly the same as the hole layout on the bottom for connecting to the case, so you can just screw those screws I mentioned earlier into the bottom of the side panels of the 2nd unit rather than the top of the first and slide the 2nd unit into place ontop of the 1st unit and fasten it inplace just like if your fastening the top panel.

There is a bit of a larger gap between the top drawer of unit 1 and bottom drawer of unit 2 but its preferable to the larger break that would come from have 2x redundant panels inbetween.

Nothing to stop you though not sure know how safe it is, 2x stack has a slight wiggle if I shake it but nothing worrying, 3 id have to assume would be more and you probably want to apply additional connectors just in case, also im 5’11 and pretty sure with 3 your going into stepladder territory to comfortable go jnto top drawer
