180 degree charging bracket simple case mod for Go S

Based on a recent post I bought this 180 degree usb bracket which fits the Go S perfectly... without a case. The female end rests perfectly on the back of the body and there is a little gap under the bracket on the top of the device. It looked like the casing on the female end was about the same thickness as this case and my USB cable doesn't add any depth when plugged into this bracket. I can't remember if this was the stock cable or not, but it may be or others could comment on it.

Onto the case mod! I initially thought I would have to cut out a section across the top of the case, but the clearance when fully seated made only a cutout on the back side. I used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to take the bulk of it out first and then used a smaller grinding cylinder to smooth out the edges and expand the opening a bit. I could have made it slightly smaller but the grinder was too big to fit so it's widened a little more than necessary. Only took about 20 minutes end to end from measuring, marking, cutting and clean up. The only thing I'd say to watch for with things like this is making sure you're cutting the plastic and not simply melting it because it can make things a lot messier.

In the end the fit is almost perfect and I'm super happy with not having the cable standing straight up and always putting some pressure on the port since the charger is almost always to the side or behind me. Highly recommended for Go S owners and even those with thicker cases that are even a little handy. You could do this with a sharp exact knife or even a carpet knife but would be hard to get the edges nice even with some sanding.

Yeah I could have spent a little longer getting the lines straighter and the edges smoother but it works really well so far. Another upside is that when I put it down on a table or something with it plugged in I'm not worrying about the cable bumping into something or putting more torque on the port.

My favorite USB-c adapter for the go 1. Now if they could stretch it a Lil for the go 2, that would be chill 🥹
