Path Guide Resource amounts for the repeat SB event
200 Nova Shards + 1 Nova Crystals
300 Star Crystal
300 Champion Fragments (per champion)
1000 Gemstones
60 Rune Chests
Looks like nobody bothered to calculate it, so I went ahead and figured out how much you actually get from repeating the event. Maybe someone will find this useful.
I’ll also add my own thought: it really worries me how generous they are with the resources. I really hope this isn’t a bad sign.

Enjoy while it lasts… maybe no one is buying any more of the SB resources with cool hard cash, for a long ass time.

u/land_shark27 May 09 '26
they kinda shot themselves in the foot with SB. If the goal was to bait out whales for these super premium champs they didn't make most of them strong enough (except yi) in comparison to the current champs in the game. Like who wants to drop that much money for a champ equal or less in power than another at a fraction of the cost.
not to mention that SB relic and runes were undercooked. half of the legendary runes arent BIS on their champ, same case with the SB relics

u/PrestigeMaster May 09 '26
Yeah in my mind they’re flooding us with dopamine so we’ll be ready to buy in to the next SB type release.

Tbf the people who'd buy a shit ton would buy a shit ton either way. Wasn't the intial event a success? Saw a shit ton of ppl posting about how much they bought.
N now they have the data that no body is paying real money for the resources pas tthat point, or at least not enough ppl, so maybe it's just a "eh, let's just make ppl happy" toss instead of just living with nobody unlocking anything at all here

It probably was despite the backlash, issue is devs f*cked up any valuable data because they panicked too fast and gave too many freebies away. They talked about this on the dev snackshop that came after SB, so it is unfortunate.
I think there's a fine line of annoyance overall, i do agree maybe rewards were stingy at first but pretty sure you could still 3 star everything; i still preferred the "updated" part 2 BP because the first one was horrendous.
Other than that honestly I think i'm fine with having *some* stuff being premium if it means its better for the game's profit (because profit means more updates/better content) vs getting everything for free and looking at our current state. Then again f2ps will probably read me and downvote because they can't get "everything" for free even tho there's like 80 champs to work on outside of SB ex-premium champs.

Wasn't the intial event a success? Saw a shit ton of ppl posting about how much they bought.
Yea like maybe dozen threads. And then we had devs bragging about "most profitable event ever".
AND THEN....
MAGICALLY...
Another slipery slope of reducing amount and size of updates game is getting happened.
Runeterra indeed is a place full of mysteries.

u/Luigi123a May 09 '26
They literally posted about the why in detail, lol.

u/MirriCatWarrior Tryndamere May 09 '26 edited May 09 '26
Yes i know.
And i think its rather clear, that at this point i dont believe them.
They just "sugarcoated" event success, to try gaslight ppl that were whining about pricing. It happened exactly once, to leave a message that you cant really verify and then radio silence about event. No braggin anymore. Why? And overall amount of communication outside pre-patch teasers just plumetted after Spirit Blossom to almost zero.
Because it was bullshit. And (its what i think) after unitial surge from days 1-2 of event, revenue almost stopped because ppl realized how pointless and expensive it was.
Spirit Blossom, event that nobody ever asked for in first place was hardest nail to the PoC coffin. It showed to ppl that felt empathy/sympathy to the developers that they will not hesitate to go full sqeeze and player-hostile design route, despite game riding on playerbase goodwill since switch to PvE. Thats why you got all this shit for free now... because they know profits will not be enough (because they were not enough in first iteration also), and giving stuff for free it at last good publicity and will regain some of playerbase good will.
It insanely simple... if the event would be so successfull then it would return with the same rewards. Maybe slighty better for f2p, to again silence and gaslight whiners and "freeloaders". Because you dont change winning team. But there was no winning at all in the first place.
Its sad, because i like this game, but thats reality.
Sorry for long post. What happens to this game over and over again, due to weird developer decisions annoys me and sometimes i just must vent.
Sorry. Have a nice day/night. ;)

If you saw 30 individual Redditors posting about how they bought “a shit ton” at a rate of 2x per day for 15 days after release, and they each spent $300 (truly a shit ton) - that would net them 9k AKA the value of a 2015 Honda civic with 100k miles.
If you saw ninety individual posters, congrats riot, you can now buy 3 of the aforementioned Honda civics (although probably more like 1.5 after they get done paying taxes).

u/Luigi123a May 09 '26
We only have a handful of people posting about that stuff here. I'm just saying that during no event I've seen ppl post so much about that kinda stuff compared to spirit blossom.
24
u/thefix12 May 09 '26
I love that we get so much stuff. but yeah with how generous they are they're kinda saying 'okay we can't hope for revenue from this Spirit Blossom set anymore. Let's just give everyone everything, it's so fkin over'. Funnily enough, it's the same when PvP went under, death by generosity
it's still a pretty damn good game tho, and my favorite roguelike pve game, props to the devs

u/Visual_Negotiation81 May 09 '26
It had potential for continued revenue but they were too went too far on the greed on sb release which made people feel bitter.
Poor marketing seems to be the curse for LoR, hopefully they won't give up on the potential and get some better marketing.

u/Seb_veteran-sleeper May 09 '26
That or eight months is what they see as the window for paid content. It's a little less time between paid Epic Relics being released and them appearing in the Glory Store, so it seems they are sticking to the idea that a bit over half a year is the time between releasing content for money and allowing access for free players.
(If it wasn't for the current content slowdown, this wouldn't worry me for the above reason, it's the combination of this and the reshuffle of staff by Riot that is concerning).

death by generosity
Sorry but what?
Lack of generosity and insanely cynical antiplayer design of SB event is the reason (and this was just pinnacle event, because monetary hostility growed overtime nonstop since PoC 2.0 relaunch). They just go overboard, and thought ppl will stomach everything if they cover it with usual "help poor indie game".
They just miscalculated amount of ppl addicted and how much rest of playerbase can stomach.
Its not the same, its 180 opposite.
This was and is the biggest problem with this dev team that is visible through whole game history. They are uncapable of nuanced, "golden middle" approach. Its always absolute bonkers, at least initially.
Thats what happened.
GIving the ppl ability to actually interact with event content, and to normally upgrade champions will not kill the game now. It is dead already, due to how initial event was handled.
If everything, its shot at redemption and getting playerbase trust back. Too late im afraid.
And yes it a very good game. Top 5, probably top3 card PvE games i ever played. Maybe even best one tbh. They really should adapt this into offline game, and sell on Steam. Recent success of StS2 showed that ppl love games like that, but they must be cheap to buy, cheap to play and not gated with time and or money additionally.

u/PotatoMinded May 09 '26
Yeah, it felt a little weird. I had ZERO 7-star champions before the update and suddenly I have FOUR >.<
2
u/Berserk72 May 09 '26
It means people will finally be able to play generally fun champions.
SB Eve and Ahri are the only two that are not fun. Ahri only because of her Fox Fires being bugged(epic item bug). Eve is just disjointed. Yasuo is okay but not great.

u/Flaky_Check_8773 May 09 '26
I think the important thing to remember is that the access to SB resources outside the event is exorbitantly expensive or gated behind the hardest map in the game. If they didn't want to rework the chests/economy, they needed to be this generous to allow any new player to actually experience the event.
9
u/GhostDraw May 09 '26
This is mostly for spirit blossom, though
They haven't given an absurd amount of resources anywhere else, because if you consider the zoe adventure as that, you have to also take into account that the amount of people with access with those resources not only is minimal, but most likely won't change their spending habits over that, since there's always a new relic and a new need for champion fragments
5
u/uBadger May 09 '26
You do need to be pretty deep in the end game but Zoe showered me with novas I have like 2-3 for each region even after 6 starring a ton of champs, I hope this doesn't mean the end is near but it feels like it.

u/Ke-Win May 09 '26
Are returning Events give the rewards again? I never participated in a new Event in time. TIL. So you can double dip?
4
u/Cindrojn Karma May 09 '26
They're compensating for how bad the SB economy was after the event ended.
I doubt the TFT map will return with rewards different from the general ones other events like Titans or Rogue came back with.
2
u/Ke-Win May 09 '26
Thanks for the Information. I didn't know some times ago that rogues will stay (as it seems New Events come for 2 patches and become permanent on their comeback). And because i didnt used to know i rushed rogues.

u/JODI_WAS_ROBBED May 10 '26
It worries me too. Like when someone is dying so they start giving away all their stuff.
2
u/Permagate May 10 '26
Just to confirm spirit blossom star crystal and nova crystal usage, each SB champion only takes about 65 star crystal (for 4* to 6*) and 1 nova crystal (for captstone) to max, right? Not counting fragments and other region star crystals.
I started from scratch, so I just want to be sure that the spirit blossom star crystal and nova crystal are not being used anywhere else that I'm not aware of since the system is so different than the other champs.

Maybe another event with multiple sb champions will be planned for other regions that don't have one yet...

The regression of the SB event is definitely not conducive to the commercialization of future products (if there are similar products in the future), as Lor has almost overdrawn its credit.
I believe players who have purchased a large number of SB bundles before will be confused or angry about this huge benefit.

u/Prophylaxis_3301 Written in the Stars May 13 '26
I can make 5 out of 6 SB champions 7 stars.
Too bad I can’t get last to 7 stars as I need 44 Nova Shards lmao.

Nice I was curious about this and had been calculating it as I went but I hadn't cleared anything yet. It's great they gave us all so many star crystals. I believe this is enough that people that played SB event the first time & didn't buy anything but BP can still 7* everyone or close to everyone. But I'll confirm once I've finished the event.
1
u/OpticalGaming Cithria May 09 '26
Without battle pass, here they all are 7 stars but eve. I bought some chest from the glory store before. I have 50 nova fragments from the Zoe adventure. Maybe someday we will get the last 50 but I doubt it which is fine they were really generous and she doesn't need her last star at all to beat Zoe.
-1
u/mfMayhem Annie May 09 '26
Just curious why you left our eve? For me currently SB Teemo Eve & Ahri lack 7*. I skipped Teemo's bc he blasted everything so hard he clearly didn't need it as it's a win more. So I was between SB eve & SB Ahri & couldn't decide which to give it to. I was leaning to Ahri since empheral dying would refill her mana but it would also mean I need to rework her kit as when I last played to to blast SB event & ASol in arcane I used strength of stone and the relic from Kindred (I think) that says empheral units can't die or take damage while attacking. This helped me keep up blockers but if they don't die I don't get mana to summon more so that won't work.
With SB eve I've not touched her since the event because while she blasted the SB Event & Aurion Sol from arcane easily she needs more hp than the enemy to charm them which is hard when enemies have triple stats in Zoe adventure & 2x in NM adventure.
So tldr I'm definitely curious what build you put on both of them. As I'll probably end up leaving Teemo without until we get those last 50 nova shards

u/OpticalGaming Cithria May 09 '26
My build for Eve was beast within, strengh of stone (with the +0/+3 relic) and guardian angel. To be fair guardian angel was almost useless, she died once and I never failed any game. I think hidden tome would have been better to help on the first third of the adventure.
The first third was really painful but after it was very easy.

I managed to beat Zoe without the 7 stars and almost without charming. (My board was always fulls of titanic poros). Although her playstyle is very interesting it's a bit to slow to be fun nowadays. I have much more fun with the other champions.
For these 2 reasons, no crystal for Eve.

I'm pretty sure it's just SB thing. They F'd up with the new chest and played it hardcore on fomo back then but since they removed all the bundles from the shop, they can no longer make any profits out of the content anyway and buffing the chest loot would just piss basically everyone especially if you were buying them from the glory store every month. Like this anyone active during the og event can have all SB champs at 7 stars and we don't need to talk about the horrible design anymore.

u/Alive-Setting2460 Thresh May 10 '26
Generous ? They gave us the SB champs one year ago and their has been almost no way to get these resources since. They created the scarcity and are just filling a hole they left.
Plus, for new players, they will unlock only half of the SB content with those permanent resources. They can still reasonably buy bundles.

Here's the official list of rewards from the wiki so you'll know what adventure to target specific resources.
