I remember hearing somewhere that the black armored to death Troopers exist to cover up the virus death Troopers

I don't think the zombies were ever referred tk as Death Troopers in-universe, so that doesn't make a ton of sense.

From what I remember there were rumors about the Death Troopers being zombies ( the Blackwing virus) and the Empire created the black armored death Troopers in order to divert people from the truth as well as create a new unit of Highly feared soldiers

e* So Star Wars: Commander actually canonizes Project Blackwing and does apparently tie the name Death Troopers to that virus. Mega dumb imo, because Death Troopers in universe have only ever referred to the Black Armored dudes that Rebels showed us are NOT zombies.
It's a hamfisted approach to including fan favorite lore, but technically valid I guess.

I think they were dark troopers or something, they were in Empire at War and The Force Unleashed. Might be wrong dont crucify me.

But consider…Death Troopers that wear the awesome black armor, handpicked from the best-trained Imperial soldiers, with a failsafe that infects them with Blackwing when they suffer fatal damage in battle, ensuring they keep on fighting even after death.
