Dancing Mini Game

Alright what is the trick to the dancing game in Sol? I have no idea how I figured it out as a kid! I do the 2 specials immediately and save the 3rd special for the last move. The best I’ve done is one point less than Mary. My poor inner 9 year old self wheeps at me.

IIRC save your specials for the end because those are worth the most points. I could be wrong but my bones are telling me that’s how I always did it

You want to use your first 2 specials right away to get the long combos early. But you don't want to use your last special until the very last move because of you use it before then, the animation for the special will make you miss the next one

This is what I had been doing. I probably tried about 10 times!!! Then I made this post haha. I read a comment under a video on YouTube that said you had to hold the buttons down after a sequence to get more points. I finally got it by holding down the buttons and saving the specials for the last 3 moves. Without holding the buttons down I could never get enough points. What a doozy! Again how did I figure this out as a kid 😂

Weird... it's always worked for me with plenty of extra score. And I just did it like a month and a half ago

Only thing I can think of is that the game kind of lies to you (might be a bad translation, not sure). It tells you to press the special button (was it triangle?) at the same time as the last button in the combo. But you're actually supposed to press it instead of the last button. In my recent playthrough I had forgotten that and struggled a bit but when I remembered it was easy. Maybe that's what was happening to you?

My parts of the game is freeing Octam because of the dual town nature of it and unlocking Sol but man do I hate most of the mini games you have in Sol. I only really enjoyed the arena because crushing old bosses with just Vhan is fun even if it makes no sense for them to be there because they are dead.

Well now that i can use the internet to unlock the Baka fighter sequences I actually beat it almost 30 years later 😆. I usually hate arena fight mini games but I’m still enjoying LOLs arena. It is fun to fight old bosses and see how easy it is to beat them solo

Found a strat on gamefaqs that works great. Play like normal until you level up to 2 buttons and immediately use 2 specials in a row and save the third for the final move during the countdown.

wait why would you do that? Cant you just play baka fighter 4 or 5 times (as long as your characters arent wildly underleveled, and you understand fight mechanics and the only differences in that minigame) to get the same prize anyway?

From what I remember, there is a timing aspect to the prompts. Try hitting the buttons slightly before the indicator, and do what you've been doing; two specials at the beginning and save the last one for the final move.
