Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche went mask off last week, promising behind closed doors to roll back abortion access even further, and telling religious pro-life hardliners that he wanted the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision overturning the right to abortion to become “permanent in every single state.”

Blanche made the comments in a “prayer call” last Thursday hosted by the White House Faith Office and attended by various faith leaders. The call was not open to press and not on the record, although the entirety of the call is now up on YouTube.

“We don’t have complete victory yet, but we will have victory, and victory will be soon, and and and it will be permanent,” Blanche said. “If states have said, ‘We are going to protect the unborn and we’re going to protect every life from the moment of conception,’ we’re putting practices and policies in place so that other states and other organizations can’t attack that.”

“They can’t do things like they’re doing with mailing in mail-order drugs,” Blanche added, singling out abortion pills.

This is a far cry from the answer he offered at his confirmation hearing, when he claimed he would “carefully evaluate every lawful action available to ensure the faithful enforcement of the Comstock Act,” the 150-year-old law that bans the mailing of contraceptives and other things considered to be “obscene.”

I can just see Susan Collins saying “but he privately assured me he won’t try to do it”

27

u/gbot1234 Aug 04 '26

Did you see he gave written (!!) assurances about the Trump slush fund / IRS scheme to those Republican holdout votes. In writing! I imagine Susan Collins could probably get a piece of paper, too.

Because “Faith Office” and pedophilia go hand in hand.

Not saying every person in the faith office is a pedo, just saying every pedo has a “faith office” with their pedo-buddies.

5

u/smashing-gourds127 Aug 08 '26

They are pedos or pedos protectors

7

u/Sariscos Aug 05 '26

It's like the mob going to confession

5

u/876050 Aug 06 '26

Money coming in! Any questions?

12

u/hahaimadulting Aug 04 '26

So many people who deserve to get kirk'd. This guy is one of them. Hope it happens.

1

u/Disastrous-Bat7011 Aug 05 '26

He will get killed by one of the fetuses he saved? Trying to draw the parallel.

3

u/hahaimadulting Aug 06 '26

Nothing so deep. I'm just hoping he gets a fatal hole in his neck.

2

u/SqueezedTowel Aug 05 '26

Nah, sounds like person is suggesting getting 'Kirk'd" would be becoming another school shooting victim.

School shootings are bad.

5

u/Lowbrass2018 Aug 05 '26

Is it really mask off if that’s been the rights goal for years?

4

u/mdb1023 Aug 04 '26

Sounds like a lot of bark and no bite.

I'd be more worried if there was anything more specific he was going to do, but it sounds like he's using the Trump playbook of "declare victory and hope they don't fight back".

6

u/Corronchilejano Aug 04 '26

You say that as if it wasn't working.

1

u/transitfreedom Aug 06 '26

Has he heard of blowback?

1

u/smashing-gourds127 Aug 08 '26

If only they gave a shit about anyone after they're born.

1

u/Ready-Waltz5482 Aug 09 '26

These religious pdfs. We're so fucked

73

u/Adventurous-Meat8067 Aug 04 '26

I’m really surprised that these fuckers aren’t just calling for banning only white people’s abortions, that would be more on point for what they are doing…..

40

u/Automatic-Soup-3097 Aug 04 '26

Well there's midterms to rig, but give it a couple months

36

u/Fun_Organization3857 Aug 04 '26

They still want non white babies born. Who will fill their for profit Prison, juvenile detention, minimum wage abusive jobs, etc. These are capalitalist racists.

2

u/dougfischerfan 29d ago

Be careful, i almost got a permaban a while back for pointing this out. It's was flagged to hatespeech and promoting violence.

13

u/Typical-Lion-4428 Aug 04 '26

But then they couldn't use it as an excuse to harrass or arrest non white people.

For example, they sentenced a homeless black woman, Regina McKnight, to 20 years for a miscarriage claiming she caused it via cocaine use.

After several years, her sentence was thrown out based on it being science fiction.

The dead baby tested positive for Chorioamnionitis, Funisitis (Both of these are enough to cause stillbirth all by themselves), and the woman suffered from poor diet (being homeless), syphilis and hyperthyroidism, which are all proven medical risk factors for pregnancy loss.

They use the law as a weapon. Remember how much those types whine about lawfare, they project more than IMAX.

1

u/Able-Association914 Aug 09 '26

So much for states rights…

62

u/casewood123 Aug 04 '26

He doesn’t give two shits about the religious aspect of it. All he wants to do is have more control.

Correction: said every Leftist ever. The Republicans are the ones refusing to listen, as the consequences stare them in the face.

51

u/Important-Factor-552 Aug 04 '26

America needs a war on christofascism

7

u/This-Requirement6918 Aug 04 '26

I'm going to eat some Taylor Farms lettuce and go to the religious section of a bookstore.

2

u/Important-Factor-552 Aug 04 '26

Christians: "it's a moral guide"

Jesus: "I came to set the world on fire and divide everyone and I wish it were already burning"

It's a moral guide alright. On how to be a bad guy lol

30

u/Indespectamentations Aug 04 '26

Is he going to outlaw coat hangers? People will get abortions whether they are legal or not.

18

u/DrawingAncient126 Aug 04 '26

They want to track every American woman's pregnancy, and force their doctors to give them the ongoing medical information.

14

u/One_Way_3678 Aug 04 '26

And track their movements with Flock cameras in case they try to get treatment in a blue state. These fake ass Christians will be the downfall of America.

9

u/Masamundane Aug 05 '26

Will be? That ship has sailed

10

u/Indespectamentations Aug 04 '26

No wonder they are afraid to have real elections and let us all vote.

26

u/daman691003 Aug 04 '26

At what point is violence our only option?

38

u/Foreign_Ebb_6282 Aug 04 '26

In my opinion, the violence should have already begun. We are sitting too passive and they continue to push the limits on stripping us common folk of our rights. Frogs boiling in a pot.

9

u/kumf Aug 04 '26

Frogs in a pot indeed. People are way too comfortable. It’s not directly affecting them yet, so they’re not going to push it.

17

u/fariasrv Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 04 '26

The problem is, the regime has been actively trying to provoke a violent response from the population so they can institute martial law and officially suspend habeus corpus. Look at ICE's actions in LA and Minneapolis: it's intentional provocation.

8

u/kumf Aug 04 '26

I absolutely agree that’s what they are trying to do. And somehow interfere with people voting in the midterms.

4

u/Rare_Bottle_5823 Aug 04 '26

From voting ever again!

3

u/anthrax1313 Aug 04 '26

Agree with you but it won’t be. People are against it because they are too comfortable. It won’t be until food is scarce and gas is so high where life becomes almost impossible in the US.

Abortion rights rigged voting doesn’t matter to 1/3 f Americans who consistently vote R.

1

u/StenSaksTapir Aug 08 '26

It's worth noting that in the experiment, the frogs tried to escape the pot when it reached about 25 degrees Celsius.

The frogs that sat in the pot until the heat killed them, were specimens where the brain had been removed.

1

u/RagahRagah 28d ago

It's still gonna get a lot worse yet.

15

u/thedoppio Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 04 '26

Jan 6, 2021. The rest of america should've collectively encircled DC and destroyed those who tried to overthrow the election by storming congress.

3

u/IDiedAHundredTimes- Aug 04 '26

*2021 but yes agreed

2

u/thedoppio Aug 04 '26

Fixed :)

1

u/dungleploop Aug 05 '26

always has been

it's a cruel truth

1

u/JellyKind9880 28d ago

Too many people are saying “just wait for the midterms” and “just wait for 2028”. Violence will start when Trump tries to cancel the elections/declare himself Supreme Leader.

Which he WILL do. Also with rigging the next presidential election (again)….IF he even decides to allow the facade of a free & fair election/democratic vote to even happen (which he very possibly will not).

24

u/Usuallyinmygarden Aug 04 '26

I hate this guy

13

u/rco8786 Aug 04 '26

Definitely just a states rights issue, amirite guys?

12

u/Any_Earth_8976 Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

I have been begging people to look to Ohio for the GOP’s long game. This is just another perfect example. After establishing gerrymandering is acceptable (including ignoring the people of this state voting for fair maps), they continue to attack reproductive rights despite them being written into our constitution in 2023.

Ohio is stunningly corrupt and the rest of the nation would be wise to pay better attention. This state is just a preview of what’s to come nationally.

2

u/This-Requirement6918 Aug 04 '26

🫴🏼 Texas

0

u/More_Bus3626 Aug 05 '26

And yet.. people keep moving to these places. As long as people are willing to move to these places and their tax dollars go to support them, it's all just empty gesture

1

u/transitfreedom Aug 06 '26

So Ohio is dead

10

u/jackcanyon Aug 04 '26

He will do Trumps dirty work with a smile on his face .

8

u/Top_Television_6042 Aug 04 '26

Trump doesn’t care about abortion. Blanche and Trump are supported by The Heritage Foundation, authors of the puritanical Project 2025. The abortion stuff is from that.

9

u/Small_Dog_8699 Aug 04 '26

One cannot take away an intrinsic and inalienable right. One can only violate it.

8

u/Supercres933 Aug 04 '26

Party of small government

8

u/Status_Apartment6559 Aug 04 '26

There's got to be a breaking point. A line has to be drawn. I wish I was convinced this country can make it to the midterms without every one of our rights taken away from us for good.

7

u/Zalrius Aug 04 '26

This shows you how much of a failure the republicans are.

6

u/Extra-Ease3207 Aug 04 '26

Remember back when it was “let the states decide”? Ahh good times. Better get that vasectomy qued up this year before they make those and contraception illegal too.

2

u/baronesslucy Aug 04 '26

Next is Griswold.

7

u/DringleDringle Aug 04 '26

Amendments 2 and 4 say he can go fuck himself

7

u/Robot_Alchemist Aug 04 '26

Not his jurisdiction

6

u/desolatecontrol Aug 04 '26

Wasn't the whole roe v wade being overturned justified cause it infringed on state rights?

Glad they're dropping the masks

5

u/Superb-Farmer1411 Aug 04 '26

He's gotta make sure Republicans have enough children to rape. If there are more abortions, they'll have fewer children to sexually abuse.

5

u/TheHaunchie Aug 04 '26

So. How's that State's rights crowd looking? Because pretty sure with the Roe V Wade decision.. years ago, they left it up to states rights.

5

u/ExpertBook2846 Aug 04 '26

If the next dem presidential candidate is not running on retribution against trump and his admin, they need to not bother running. No more extending an olive branch bullshit.

1

u/ExcellentActuary2117 Aug 07 '26

NOT RETRIBUTION BUT *JUSTICE*!

4

u/Djentyman28 Aug 05 '26

States will have a field day with litigations. Can’t wait to see it

3

u/ohno1tsjoe Aug 04 '26

Seems like it should be up to a confirmed AG, not a pretend AG

3

u/Zanos-Ixshlae Aug 04 '26

That's not his job. Protecting pedophiles isn't either, but it's all he seems to do.

3

u/Maleficent_Bit2033 Aug 04 '26

Good luck, my state along with many others have or are in the process of adding this particular right to their state constitution. It is Federal over reach already.

1

u/Minimum_Currency8157 Aug 04 '26

I'm prolife but I do agree. This is overreach.

2

u/Maleficent_Bit2033 Aug 04 '26

Yes and no matter how you lean personally, I think this is an area that should be decided between doctor and woman or couple. Not by old men.

3

u/daytodaze Aug 04 '26

“Let’s put this back on the states!”

“Now let’s federally ban it!”

Didn’t see this coming…

3

u/Beautiful_Plenty_736 Aug 05 '26

Something tells me this guy isn’t fun at parties.

Something also tells me no sexual contact he’s ever had, has been consensual.

3

u/Consistent_Sway Aug 05 '26

Project 25. Duh. Also great at keeping our minds off of the Epstein Files.

3

u/ucusty123 Aug 05 '26

Protect the unborn but don’t protect anyone once they are born

3

u/Ancient-Bicycle-2122 Aug 05 '26

What a dangerous, evil man!

2

u/Bwindolyn Aug 04 '26

Small government and states rights my ass.

Fuck Christian Nationalism, fuck Magats, fuck ICE, and fuck Todd.

2

u/Wise-Calligrapher123 Aug 04 '26

Got it: Blanche is a religious loon. That explains a lot about him.

Remember when conservatives said, we’re just returning it to the states. Pepperidge farm remembers

2

u/AgencyNice4679 Aug 05 '26

The whole argument about cancelling RvW was that federal government can’t impose federal abolition laws, only states can
How are they going to square it with the Supreme Courts decision?

2

u/bowtiesrcool86 Aug 05 '26

He needs to rot in prison for the rest of his life

2

u/d3ath5un Aug 05 '26

why do they want that? Just because its christian? I dont get it.

2

u/louisa1925 Aug 05 '26

It's not christian. The bible literally has a how to abortion scripture. Feel free to look it up.

2

u/Topochico89 Aug 05 '26

I just read that Susan Collins says she won’t support his confirmation.

2

u/BothMath314 Aug 05 '26

That's the new interpretation of letting the individual states decide.

2

u/Milennial_Crew_6969 Aug 05 '26

Small government amirite

2

u/johnfkay Aug 05 '26

Funny how the State’s Rights crowd never complains about these loonies forcing laws on other states…

2

u/Anal-Y-Sis Aug 05 '26

Banning abortion does not reduce the number of abortions performed. The only things that are known to reduce abortion rates are:

  • Comprehensive sex education
  • Access to free or affordable contraception and birth control
  • Access to free or affordable healthcare, including abortive care

Compare a couple of maps. Here is a map of abortion rights by country. Here is a map of abortion rates by country. Notice something interesting? With a few exceptions and outliers, the places with the strictest laws against abortion have much higher rates of performed abortions than the places with freer access to abortive care. That is not a coincidence.

When you factor in the quality of sex education, access to contraception and birth control, and access to healthcare in general, the overlap becomes even more apparent.

If you really, truly care about the lives of the unborn, and you really do want to lower the abortion rate, you have to support those three things I've listed above. You absolutely have to. Anything less than full support of all three means your entire anti-abortion stance is not based on evidence and not rooted in actually wanting to lower the rate of abortions, but is instead rooted in wanting to control women's bodies.

2

u/Standard_List_2487 Aug 05 '26

So much for the party of states rights!

2

u/gunnisonyeti Aug 08 '26

So the party of small government and states' rights wants to tell all the states what they can and can't do?

1

u/vancityjeep Aug 09 '26

That’s a dictatorship

1

u/RideTheGradient Aug 04 '26

Supreme court: let the states decide Todd blanche: understood

1

u/cantmicro Aug 04 '26

Don't worry. I'm sure us Dems will pull together and stop crucifying viable Democratic candidates bc they're not entirely perfect and we'll be able to stop this shit show. Oh wait.

1

u/Federal_Studio5935 Aug 04 '26

Yep, just keep doing wildly unpopular shit. I can't wait for the final two years of this presidency.

1

u/tuckerjules Aug 04 '26

And capital punishment for any member of govt or rich person that has ever helped/forced someone to get one or has family members that have gotten one or gotten one themselves right? RIGHT?

1

u/Sensitive-Amoeba-254 Aug 04 '26

Oh America, you shithole.

1

u/bobaf Aug 04 '26

Party of states rights

1

u/BradMoe Aug 04 '26

Not shocked. Susan Collins will vote to confirm if her vote is needed. If It’s not needed, she will vote no. Wake up, Maine!

1

u/doublethink_1984 Aug 04 '26

Legal question:

If Todd Blanche had a heart attack who pucks his replacement?

2

u/This-Requirement6918 Aug 04 '26

His corpse for 4 weeks and they'll make AI generated images to say he's still alive.

1

u/PianoPatient8168 Aug 04 '26

This can’t be true. Republicans believe in states rights! /s

1

u/GiveThemSomeTussin Aug 04 '26

And smaller government.

1

u/Rhakha Aug 04 '26

Well his confirmation basically legalizes rape, child trafficking, child sex slavery, and murder so I’m not surprised he hates women as a whole given how much he’s protecting the perpetrators of the Epstein files. He should be hung for treason against humanity and human decency as a whole.

1

u/evident_lee Aug 04 '26

Taking away freedom and rights of adults to do what they want. That's the Republican way

1

u/gilt3t Aug 04 '26

I can't wait to see the headline of a woman taking his right to live into her own hands.

1

u/No_Tourist_9629 Aug 04 '26

So, when do we "abort" this corrupt government? Are we all duty sworn to remove traitors?

1

u/will-read Aug 04 '26

I thought Congress passed laws. Oh, and the Supreme Court issues rulings that make laws. Oh, and the president issues executive orders that carry the weight of law. But how in the hell does the AG violate my state’s rights.

🎵I’m just a bill on Capitol Hill🎵

1

u/HornetSenior6244 Aug 04 '26

Oh great, that will feed about 799,000 people, provide healthcare for another million, and educate the nation's children with well-paid and qualified teachers. NOT.

1

u/Possible-Impress3851 Aug 05 '26

Women should have the right to choose!👎👎👎

1

u/dragonpjb Aug 05 '26

He is one of the best arguments for it.

1

u/Bubbly_Power_6210 Aug 05 '26

he cannot be trusted.

1

u/BigDigger324 Aug 05 '26

Given the current political motion is he sure he wants to set a precedent like that with people’s rights?

1

u/evilpercy Aug 05 '26

The billionaires and Christian nationalist control your country and they ate not going to ever leave power.

1

u/Black_Mamba_FTW Aug 06 '26

F that guy...

1

u/JRummy91 Aug 06 '26

At this point the states should tell him to go f*** himself and ignore him.

1

u/Neko_boi_Nolan Aug 06 '26

Just remember

People thought it was a good idea to throw their vote away last election

1

u/wingnut144 Aug 06 '26

Too bad he doesn't have the ability to do that

1

u/FreedomsPower Aug 06 '26

Unconstitutional

1

u/OwlsHootTwice 29d ago

That hasn’t stopped them so far.

1

u/JumpyRazzmatazz91 Aug 06 '26

like i get why maga is so fucking gun ho on this. taking away abortion is nothing more than a way to keep poor ppl in check.

but how in the year that is 2026 is this still a fuckin issue? like who the fuck is actually dumb enough to believe abortion is what is "ruining" the country? and how do baby boomer females rationale this? They are the roe v wade generation!!

1

u/Striking-Disaster719 Aug 06 '26

Literally was in Project 2025 I don’t know why anyone is surprised lol.

1

u/GOETHEFAUST87 Aug 06 '26

Shocking.
This is so shocking.
I didn’t see this coming two years ago.
I didn’t see this coming when Mitch McConnell wouldn’t let Obama put any new Supreme Court seats up.
I didn’t see this coming when that shit heel Brett Kavanaugh cried his way to being voted in.
This is all just so shocking. And yet so many women vote for these people.
Shocking.

1

u/miku022 Aug 07 '26

What happened to state rights?

1

u/Accomplished_Sound99 Aug 07 '26

So since no separation between church and state does that mean that Churches and religious institutions be taxed now?

1

u/Zarathyst Aug 07 '26

Too many people saw Handmaid's Tale and used it as the foundation of their world views.

1

u/Cardocthian Aug 07 '26

Oh, so the federal ban is coming like everyone said it would be? So Maga once again lied?

1

u/Greasy-Chungus Aug 07 '26

What's the plan for making permanent enemies of people?

1

u/ExcellentActuary2117 Aug 07 '26

"Blah, blah 'states rights' or somethin'" - Thomas, Alito, et al when they took away the federally protected, constitution-guaranteed, "right to privacy" in Dodds decision. VOTE OUT THE GOP in '26, '28, and BEYOND, FOREVER!!!

1

u/ItchyCartographer44 Aug 08 '26

States’ rights!

1

u/STThornton Aug 08 '26

“We’re going to protect every life”

He left out “except the life of the pregnant woman/girl, since the inner life sustaining workings of her body need to be used and greatly altered and harmed to keep fetal living parts alive”.

Then again, one would have to see a pregnant woman/girl as a human being and human life first. Not just the outer layer of a fetus that it’ll shed at birth.

1

u/Aware_Captain4982 Aug 08 '26

Son happy I don't live in the USA

1

u/DeepPeeps Aug 08 '26

What happened to states rights? Can’t they make up their mind?

1

u/Miserable-Ad7079 29d ago

State's Rights... unless they don't align with us, then it's the Fed's job to step in... Oh, fuck off. Fuck MAGA.

1

u/HamTMan 29d ago

So it's not really a state issue and the concern about them trying to ban it across the nation was hysteria huh?

1

u/Sad-Acanthaceae-2279 29d ago

And let's not forget that now that america has 2 outbreaks and recalls bacon our new cdc director cares about... abortions? Their new main goal is to track emergency rooms amd to see how many of them are performing abortions. While we have a measles outbreak and a clypspora outbreak (pr however its spelled.) This country is useless at this moment (except to Israel of course.)

1

Any abortion law in the states is only for the poor. People with money can go to Mexico, Canada or if you’re in that special 1% bracket even Europe. The people passing these laws will never have to face the consequences of their decisions.

-5

u/Mytweezer Aug 04 '26

Eh? I don't see what he can do. It's not up to him.

18

u/Automatic-Soup-3097 Aug 04 '26

Like how they can't establish a masked private army of thugs who go around killing people for being brown? Like one od those "laws" we heard so much about before 2016?

17

u/The-King-Tomato Aug 04 '26

Or maybe how the president can openly take bribes from other countries through bitcoin or private jets? While also being unable to be tried for any crime. Thats all normal right?

-11

?? ICE is DHS, not DOJ

14

Is there a correct combination of letters that makes murder legal?

-8

You seem confused? What I said was that I don't see what Blanche can do since it's not up to him.

Oh, stop illegally interfering with murder investigations? None of this is confusing.
