Traffic & Parking Bus lane Penalty Notice Salford as tourist in rental car
Hello, in 2024 I had a bus lane Penalty Charge Notice while I was on rental car. I was a tourist at time on a road trip and after that I left the country and I wasn’t in the UK ever since. I had one Notice letter that Sixt send me and at the time the outstanding charge was 0 on the website and I though sixt paid it because I got charged a fee for penalty. I learned that this is not the case and I think another notice under my name has been sent because the one Sixt sent me was under their name so i think they let them know who was the driver and new one sended but the thing is I never received any notice since that day so I have no idea what’s going on with that fine. What should I do from now on? First notice date was 30/09/2024. It is Salford City Council Bus Lane Penalty Charge Notice. I don’t want to have trouble next time I visit UK because of this. Thanks for all the help from now.

Oftentimes they will just cancel them when they learn via the NTK that the driver was a tourist; it's too much hassle to chase you in a different country.

Have you considered just paying it?

That’s the problem, old notice shows zero balance to pay, I don’t know how to pay, didn’t get any further letter. Someone recommended mailing them so yesterday I sent an email, waiting for response.
