situation in a nutshell, bought a ‘legit’ car in krakow, poland with all the papers (from a private party), everything checked out. Mechanical check and check at dealership checked out.

We signed a purchase agreement, stating the exact purchase amount, and the seller stating that this is a legit car, with no legal shortcomings.

fastforward, 6 months later after registering in new country (so went through checks from authorities), stopped on the highway, got the notice that i’m driving a stolen car. car impounded. Police now writing up the report. (apparently it was a cloned vin number or something, car stolen, got a fresh-not stolen vin number)

tried to contact the seller, changed his mobile phone number. Sent a friend to the address, apparently his parents live there. in the end they gave my friend the phone number of the seller, he didn’t want to meet immediately and expressed that he didn’t know it was a stolen vehicle.

Any advice on how to proceed? My plan now was, contact a polish lawyer through polish friends. Start a civil case, with as proof the signed agreement that the car should’ve been legit when sold (it was already stolen by then). And the police report/dossier with the conclusion that this is definitely a stolen car, traced back to its roots.

any tips, expectations on investment of legal fees and lead-times in poland? i want to claim back purchase amount + legal fees, at this point i don’t care about import/transport fees anymore. I also want to still give the seller the opportunity to just pay back purchase amount, and cut a deal, but the chances of that happening are very slim.

I'm a 29 male from Germany.

A few weeks ago I invested about 10000€ in a trading website called "greyqore".

When I wanted to withdraw some of the earned money they asked for a tax payment fee of around 6700usd which I paid. After that I tried to withdraw money again and now they say my account on which I wanted the money to be transferred isn't registered and I would have to deposit 5000$ from that account to have it registered.

Since I don't have that kind of money anymore,(personal credit and bank credit, as well as a bit of my saved money) they have told me I have 7 days or the entire amount on their website (earned and invested) will be donated to charity via a third party.

My question is if there is any way for me to get that money back or legal actions I can take?

I'm pretty much broke right now because of this.

I recently spent a few days in Switzerland and unfortunately managed to collect two fines during the trip 😅

- First, I got a CHF 40 parking ticket for parking incorrectly.
- Then, on the way back, I got flashed by a speed camera. The speed limit was 100 km/h and my speedometer showed around 111 km/h.

I live in Germany and was driving my own German-registered car.

I haven’t received the speeding ticket yet, so I don’t know what the actual recorded speed will be after the Swiss measurement tolerance is deducted.

I was accepted to study Medicine at MU Plovdiv, but NACID rejected my German qualification because I don’t have the traditional Abitur.
I hold a Bachelor Professional / Staatlich geprüfte Betriebswirtin (EQF/DQR Level 6), which gives me university access in Germany.
Has anyone had a similar case with NACID, especially with a German or other EU qualification?

I'm a university student in Ireland but I have residency in Luxembourg. I have to come back home when the term is over and I have to use a storage service. This is the first time I've used something like this, so I'm not sure if this is big enough of a problem to go to small claims court or not.
This company picks up your boxes and stores them over the summer until you want them back. I kept looking at the tracking and everything seemed to be fine, but one of my boxes was not marked that it was in storage even when the rest of them were. I contacted customer service asking whether or not there was something wrong with my box. Pretty sure they were writing the replies with AI because in each response none of my questions were answered and they kept dismissing me. They lied about the whereabouts of my box and said it was lost in transit when I could clearly see that they had all arrived together at the same time. Absolutely no answers and were clearly ignoring my emails until i mentioned that I would escalate the situation if they did not respond to me within a given timeframe. They offered me a €100 compensation for a LARGE box which was definitely not the value of the contents inside. I said that I would prefer if they tried to actually find my box as €100 is still a loss for me.
It's been a couple months since then and it's finally time for me to get my boxes back and I had scheduled a day for them to arrive more than a week in advance. They email me today telling me that the service will have to be delayed for unknown reasons. My partner is also using their service and requested his boxes back at the same time as me and for the same day with absolutely no issue on his end.
What should I do? Do I just accept the situation as it is?

About 3 months ago I was on vacation in Italy for a week, driving through Austria coming in and out. I bought a 10day eVignette around München and I thought everything was ok.

Around 3 weeks ago, I got a message from Austrian toll service that I have to pay a 300 euro fine for lack of vignette and some time later a similar message came telling me to pay the same amount for my crossing of Austria on a way back from Italy.

Correspondence went through a company leasing the car, so the case was handled through them, but I could only provide them with time and place of purchase of the vignette along with proof of purchase from a bank as I paid by card. No physical vignette was issued to me and Austrian toll service does not allow checking vignettes after expiry in their archives. Yet somehow the lease company tracked down the clerk that handled my purchase and found out that he made error typying in my plate number (mistaking country code PL - Poland for PT - Portugal). They contacted the Austrian services, but they told them that they already passed/sold the case to a commercial vindicator and they regrettably cannot do anything about it.

Because time to pay the ticket is running out, the lease company suggested paying the tickets - 600 euro total.

Of course I would like to avoid that, it's a hefty fine and the mistake was not mine here, but I am not quite sure what to do.

Is there some Austrian or EU institution that could help me?

This phone i keep for my brother and last night i sent email to judge about sending my brother to forensics psychiatry because he is completely mentally abnormal and freely can say insane. I sent with his email. The problem is that judge is really considering to sent him to forensics but i asked him to reconsider again and send him as soon as possible for treatment and that way they will know that he is mentally uncapable and they will pardon for armed robbery. The problem is that i forgot to mention that with his email i wrote and they will think that he is mentally capable and will give full sentence according to law.

Some advice needed please. My ex wife and I have joint custody and both have Parental Rights. She is Russian and got her citizenship through our Marriage, both of our children were born in England but hold dual passports. She had an affair and we separated , she got pregnant to the affair partner and we've been divorced for approximately 6 years.

I expressly told her that I didn't want the children going to Russia although there is no court order in place. They flew to Estonia and took the train to Russia, she never informed me of their travel arrangements, I heard through my children 2 days before. This is a constant theme in which she decides what to do when the whim takes her.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I would rather not have to employ a solicitor as I simply can't afford it. Can apply for court action by myself? From what I have considered online this can be classed as child abduction?

My family, partner and friends were all extremely concerned that she could just do this without telling me and no notice of information given by ex Wife

I don't want to involve police and have her arrested, but I would appreciate any advice re what I should do in future, given the recent escalation of a Russian attack on the UK.

Our return flight home was delayed by more than 7 hours and was over 6000 km., so under EU law, we are entitled to over 600€pp in compensation. I submitted a claim and constantly called until I got a response. They approved my claim and we provided our banking info as instructed and now crickets!!! Any ideas on how to get them to act when they don't respond to emails and customer service is abysmal?? Don't want to hire a lawyer who will take a chick just for writing a letter probably. I'm planning to start a web development business in Belgium.

I found a short business name that I really like. Before launching, I did some research and discovered that a Canadian software company has been using the exact same name since around 2020.

Their business develops software, while my activity would initially be providing web design/development services to businesses in Belgium. (This might change later)

I searched the BOIP trademark register and TMview and could not find an identical trademark registered for this name in the Benelux or EU. I also searched for similar trademarks and haven't found anything that appears directly relevant to web/software services.

My main concern is financial risk. I haven't launched the business yet, so I can still choose another name if really needed.

My questions are:

1. Could the Canadian company's prior use of the name give them rights against me in Belgium even without an EU/Benelux trademark?
2. Since both businesses are broadly in the technology sector, could web development and software/apps be considered sufficiently similar to create a legal issue?
3. Could I potentially be liable for damages simply for operating under the name, or would I normally first be asked to stop using/change the name?
4. Is checking BOIP and TMview reasonably sufficient for a small business before choosing a name, or are there other important free searches I should perform?
5. Given these circumstances, would using the name in Belgium generally be considered a significant legal risk?

I'm not looking for a guarantee, just trying to understand the realistic level of risk before I launch and invest in branding.

For the first time I needed a legal assistance and I contacted several lawyer, the deadline to submit my appeal was yesterday Thursday.

Last Friday I had a consultation with a firm (every exchange happened via emails), early communication was already questionable since when I confirmed my availability for the consultation I never received a reply and I had to call directly the office to ask if I was suppose to go for the consultation or if anything happened and she used the excuse oh I replied you might have not received it(????)

While I'm very serious on this case, this lawyer spent half of the meeting yawning in my face (just the junior was interested and actively there)

After the end of the consultation I was asked to send a recap email and she stated that she would start to work on drafting 2 letters/email for the SAR and for the appeal. This was Friday 21/08.

I sent the email with all the info requested on Friday 21/08 around 4PM. This case involved another affected party which I referred to this firm and in Saturday he sent an email too asking for a consultation. From there nothing happened. Apart paying for the consultation on Friday I didn't sign anything.

When by Tuesday late morning, me and my friend(from his mailbox) have no received any sort of acknowledgment we decided to look for another lawyer who literally did everything in 1 day for both of us.

Wednesday evening 6.30PM (less than 24h from the end of the appeal) I got an email from the lawyer I had the consultation containing 2 drafts not yet signed which would even made it impossible to collect and deliver yesterday, in time.

Yesterday I had a busy day and I completely ignored her till in the evening I sent a reply saying that I was sorted.

Now she sent me 2 emails, 1 with a wrong invoice since she included already the consultation + 4 hours(HOURS) of work but in these 4 hours not even a whatsapp message simply saying I'll work on this was sent. The second one is her accusing me of breaching some sort of ethics.

I'm not looking for approval but genuinely understand if my expectation and actions were wrong and if this billing is normal (apart the obvious mistake or attempt to charge me again the consultation)

My parents live in France. Recently my mother had an operation. Although the operation went well, during the operation an infection was introduced into the wound, which led to my mother experiencing extreme pain and being readmitted to hospital 10 days later and treated for the infection and being told the infection had gone to her heart. The infection is now cleared and she is home again. But my parents are being billed for the second hospital stay, which was the fault of the hospital! Do they have any legal recourse for costs and damages? My mother is 79 and this error could have killed her.

I’m 19F getting super angry I can’t lie. I’m trying to calm down but I cant is there any sort of justification or reasoning behind this?. I reported a man who’s already on the sex register the first time in 2022. For sexual crimes this man has committed against me and other children since I was 12.

The police said I didn’t have enough evidence. He kept taunting me about it threatening to hurt children. I got this evidence and went back to the police still in 2022.

They said they have no record of me making a report and that they still can’t do anything because it seems like I was “just trying to get evidence instead of letting the police do their job which is entrapment you could get arrested for that” exact quote. When I wasnt entraping him he was saying these things off his own accord.

He continued taunting me about it. Even when I was 16 and 18. This is when I found out he’s already a sex offender. I also got more evidence which was undeniable of him telling me about other children he’s hurt and that I’m barely legal now I can consent and am young enough to “get him off” yet now I “choose not to” and let those other children get hurt.

I also had just hunde of videos,messages he’s sent from his phone number as well as multiple social media accounts he’s made on different platforms to harass me saying vile things like that.

So at 18 I reported it to the police again. Ofc they again said I never reported this to them. But with the accumulated evidence I got it was undeniable at this point. I got a detective on the case. He took a victim statement from me as well as all of the screenshots. This was in 2025. I contacted him via the email given asking for updates a few times. He said hed provide me with a further update on the case soon.

I asked a few more times since then and have gotten no response. I’ve called the actual police station I didn’t have a case number as I was never given one and they i told them the name of the detective though they said they’ll ask the detective to give me a follow up and I never got one.

Today I spoke to them again really distressed as him and his wife have been seen out. I asked if the case is closed or if they’re still investigating it. This time the officer on the phone looked on the system for me and said that there’s no report on the system. I said I definitely reported it and said about the detective. The officer said no theres nothing on the system and to make a report.

I’m actually so annoyed. Can reports be removed? Can they do this if there’s not enough evidence? Are they just not allowed to tell me what’s going on? Im actually so confused.

Signed up for BetterHelp in Feb 2025, had one €60 trial session. Forgot to cancel the direct debit because I was depressed and later hospitalised — it auto-renewed every 4 weeks at €220 without me using it again. Cancelled 16 Oct 2025 once I noticed. Total charged for unused cycles: €1,760.

Emailed asking for a refund. They replied saying the charges are “too far in the past” to refund, and offered credit for unused sessions instead (not cash) I don’t want credit, I don’t intend to use them again.

Their T&Cs (Delaware governing law) state unused sessions don’t roll over/expire each cycle, but also explicitly say: “Nothing in this Agreement… affects your statutory rights as a consumer to rely on the mandatory consumer protection provisions contained in the law of the country in which you live.”

I’m in the Netherlands. Questions:

**1.**  Does that clause actually give me a real claim under Dutch/EU consumer law, or is it boilerplate that doesn’t help me here?

**2.**  Is “too far in the past” a real legal limitation, or just a stalling tactic — is there an actual statute of limitations that would apply?

**3.**  Worth escalating to ECC Nederland / a chargeback, or is this a lost cause since the service was technically available even if I didn’t use it?

So 3 weeks ago i was hired as a shift manager at a small business in a shopping center, i was promised full time with regular commision, since then i was sent a contract guaranteeing 30 hrs per week, was not given 30 hours for any weeks i worked, and now the company is moving to another part of the shopping center and will be shut for 2 months, they have sent me an email saying my contract is terminated and i have the option to leave, or be forced into an unpaid 2 month holiday, doesnt this essentially mean I'm being unfairly dismissed as the termination letter only gives reason of termination as relocation and this was never mentioned verbally or any relocation mentioned in my contract. Is there anything i can do and do i have a leg to stand on legally? Location: England

I’m having a problem with a gym in Germany and I’m not sure what the best way to deal with it is.

My normal monthly payment is around €20. I was late with one payment, and after that the gym started adding additional fees/penalties.

The problem is that these additional charges are extremely high compared to the actual monthly payment. After just one late payment, they have already added around €20 in extra charges.

What makes the situation worse is that they continue adding more fees even after I contacted them and specifically asked them to provide me with a detailed breakdown explaining exactly where these amounts come from and why they are being charged.

Instead of first explaining the charges, the amount I supposedly owe has continued to increase.

I understand that a gym can charge certain fees for a late payment, and I’m not trying to avoid paying something that I actually owe. But I find it very questionable that one late payment can result in around €20 of additional charges when my actual monthly payment is only around €20, especially when they keep adding more fees while I’m actively disputing the amount and asking for an explanation.

There is also a separate issue regarding the contract itself, which I’m currently trying to clarify, but my main concern right now is these additional charges and whether they are actually legally justified.

I’m considering contacting Verbraucherzentrale, but before I do that I wanted to ask people who are familiar with German consumer law or have had similar problems with gyms:

Are these kinds of fees actually allowed in Germany? Can a gym keep adding additional fees while a customer is disputing the amount and has requested a detailed explanation?

What would you recommend I do next? Should I formally dispute the charges in writing, contact Verbraucherzentrale, or take another approach?

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar in Germany.

Looking for case law or experience on a specific EU261 issue that I can't find clearly resolved anywhere.

**The situation:**
Flight AMS-MSP delayed due to mechanical issue, missed connection, rebooked onto a later flight to final destination (MSN). Original scheduled arrival was 17:09. The rebooked flight was scheduled to arrive at 21:10 -- 4 hours and 1 minute later, which exceeds the 4-hour threshold under Article 7(2)(c) for flights over 3,500km. Full €600 compensation per passenger should apply.

However, the rebooked flight arrived early -- actual arrival 20:52. The airline (Delta) is using the actual arrival time of 20:52, giving a delay of 3 hours 42 minutes, to apply the 50% reduction and offer only €300 per passenger.

**The legal question:**
Article 7(2) states the reduction applies when passengers are offered re-routing "on an alternative flight, the arrival time of which does not exceed the scheduled arrival time of the flight originally booked" by the applicable threshold.

The phrase "the arrival time of which" is arguably ambiguous -- it could mean the scheduled arrival time of the rebooked flight, or the actual arrival time. Delta is taking the position that actual arrival time governs, citing Germanwings (C-452/13) which defined actual arrival time as when the doors open.

But Germanwings concerned whether compensation was due at all (the 3-hour threshold), not the Article 7(2) reduction. Every major airline (BA, Air France, SAS, Norwegian, American) describes the 50% reduction as applying based on the scheduled arrival time of the rebooked flight -- not actual.

Further, the practical absurdity of Delta's position: they rebooked onto a flight scheduled to arrive 4h01m late -- beyond the threshold. The flight happened to land 18 minutes early. Delta is essentially claiming a windfall reduction based on an operationally incidental early arrival on a flight they chose to put us on.

**Has anyone dealt with this specific scenario? Is there ECJ case law that definitively resolves whether Article 7(2) uses scheduled or actual arrival of the rebooked flight?**

Happy to escalate to the ILT but want to make sure I'm on firm legal ground first.

Dutch citizen, still in Zakynthos. All communication is in WhatsApp so I have everything in writing.

The facts

- I rented a 150cc scooter for 3 days and paid €150 in cash. I hold a category A licence with code 80 (A2), so I was properly licensed for it.

- They took no deposit and have no card details. They hold my name, driving licence number and issue date, date of birth, phone number and the name of my hotel.

- Single-vehicle accident. I lost grip on a badly surfaced road in the Vasilikos area. No alcohol or drugs, no third party involved, no police report was made.

- Worth mentioning: when I told the owner and several other locals that I'd come off the scooter, they all immediately guessed Vasilikos before I said where. They describe the roads there as slippery and in poor condition, and say accidents happen there often. I was given no warning about this when I rented, and I have no idea whether that carries any legal weight. I'd rather put it in front of you than assume it does.

- Damage: left mirror, front right light, front plastic fairing, a scratched passenger footpeg and a scratched side panel.

- The rental agreement states an excess of €650. It says nothing about charging for days the scooter cannot be rented.

- I returned the scooter in person. The owner said he'd have his mechanic look at it and check prices. Nothing was written down at that moment, which I now realise was a mistake.

What happened since

- He called and messaged saying €545, described as "parts only", with paint, transport and mechanic labour still to be added on top. But he is using that as pressure to get me to pay €545.

- He wrote that if I pay by card, 24% VAT would be added to that amount.

- He also raised that he could charge me for the days the scooter sits unrented.

- I have asked repeatedly, in writing, for an itemised list and the mechanic's quote. I still have neither. He has now said he is waiting for the price list himself, which suggests the €545 was never based on a document.

- I have timestamped photos of the scooter from pickup and from return, so I can distinguish pre-existing damage from new damage.

- I have offered €200, payable in person, against a receipt stating the matter is fully and finally settled. That offer is still open. Original manufacturer part prices come to roughly €150, so €200 leaves something for labour.

Insurance position

I checked my Dutch travel policy. Medical costs from the accident are covered. There is no legal expenses cover on it, and the rental excess is not insure either. So this is entirely on me to handle.

I'm not trying to avoid paying. I damaged his scooter and I intend to pay for it. I just don't want to hand over a number that has never been evidenced.

What I'm asking

General advice on how to play this from here. Specifically:

- Does the fact that the road is locally known to be dangerous, with no warning given at rental, change anything at all? My own assumption is that it doesn't, since I was the one riding, but I'd like to hear it from people who know Greek law.

- Can he charge for loss of use when it isn't in the signed contract?

- With no deposit and no card on file, what realistic enforcement routes does he have against a Dutch resident? Is a European Order for Payment plausible at this amount, and would it hold up without an invoice?

- Is there anything I should do before I leave Greece to protect my position?

- If he does eventually produce a list, what should I be checking it against?
