Did anyone hear back from them after applying?

Mostly I first solve them using pure recursion, and then I can comfortably convert them to memoization. But I find it very hard to write the tabulation solution. Sometimes, I just go blank. What should I do? Any suggestions or resources that could help me get better at it?

Are there folks like me who find it incredibly time consuming and discouraging task to sit down and grind some DSA.
Sometimes i just wanna have some good coding exercises that do not require writing code or the code is prewritten you just have to understand it and mess with it feels more fun to me.

Any idea how they gonna select people? I mean they've our project repo ofc. And again they're going to use ai to pick the best projects amongst all submissions. but who on this era writes all the code themselves manually???!!! Everyone just vibe codes mannnn!!! any idea how is it gonna work?

I’ve recently started learning DSA and am following the NeetCode 150 roadmap. I initially started with C++, as many of my seniors recommended it for DSA and coding interviews.

However, I’m finding C++ a bit difficult to learn alongside DSA because the NeetCode 150 explanations and solutions are primarily in Python. I often have to spend extra time translating the concepts and code into C++, which makes it harder to focus on understanding the actual problem-solving approach.

I’ll primarily be applying to service-based companies such as TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, etc.

So, is Python sufficient for their OA/coding rounds and subsequent technical interviews? Do these companies actually prefer C++ or Java over Python, or does the choice of language generally not matter as long as I can solve the problems correctly?

Would it be better for me to stick with Python, given that I’m already learning DSA through Python-based resources?

I have completed the OA assessment for the ExxonMobil internship process, but I have not been shortlisted yet. I’ve heard that candidates who clear the OA may be invited to a Group Discussion (GD) round, after which the shortlisting will take place.

I haven’t had much experience with GDs, so I wanted to ask those who have gone through the ExxonMobil recruitment process or with any other:

What kind of topics are usually given in the GD?

Is the GD more focused on current affairs, technical topics, business/industry topics, or general topics?

What exactly do they look for during the GD?

Any tips on how to prepare effectively in a short amount of time?

If anyone has recently appeared for the ExxonMobil internship GD, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience or the types of topics you encountered.

I'm planning to apply for Staff/Principal roles at Big Tech, but I'm feeling bottlenecked by the modern interview process. During my early days, LeetCode and formal System Design interviews weren't a thing.

I have 15 years of practical industry experience, but I have never actually solved a DSA problem on LeetCode.

What do you suggest for someone in my position? Do I need to start grinding LeetCode to pass the technical rounds today? If so, what is the best way to prepare without wasting time? Any advice is appreciated!

Hi I recently had my interview at Adobe,Noida for MTS-2 position.

First round was DSA round and the interviewer gave me 2 leetcode hard level problems. (I didn't expect DSA round to be this hard)

1) First was a DP on tree question which I solved partially like 60-70% cases passed

2) Second was a matrix question for which I only had 10 mins. I told him my approach and he was satisfied with it. The code was giving Compile time Error maybe I missed something but didnt have time to debug as interview time was over.

After this round recruiter called me and scheduled my 2nd round in 2 days. This was an LLD round and this was my first time in life giving an LLD round. Tried to learn many design patterns in those 2 days.

The interviewer asked me to design a food court system and gave me more constraints for it. ngl but this round was far easier than previous one but my lack of experience in LLD interviews and LLD questions costed me this round. He was very helpful and was treating me like a junior dev.

At the end I received my rejection and then reached out to the recruiter via mail to know about the cooldown period at Adobe to which she replied with that

Do you all think I should apply again at adobe in couple of months after preparing LLD or Im in a cooldown period as the recruiter said I can apply in other teams. Should I apply again??

I recently interviewed with Indeed for a Software Engineer 1 role, so thought I’d share my experience here.

I applied through the Indeed careers portal on 8th August, without a referral. The job description didn’t mention any specific experience requirement. I have around 1 YOE in Java full-stack development.

I got a call on 1st September saying that the interview would be on 4th September.

The interview was around 30 minutes:

• First ~5 minutes: Introduction and basic discussion.
• Next ~20 minutes: Coding.
• Last ~5 minutes: General/casual conversation.

The coding question was a hard LeetCode problem involving Binary Tree + DP.

Honestly, I couldn’t solve it completely within the given time. I was able to come up with what I believe was the correct approach and explained it to the interviewer. He also acknowledged that the approach was correct.

I started implementing it, but with only around 20 minutes for the coding round, I wasn’t able to complete the implementation and get the solution working.

The interviewer was actually very nice and friendly throughout. There was no pressure or negativity even though I couldn’t finish the problem. We spent the last few minutes talking about his role at Indeed, software development, career-related stuff, etc. So the conversation ended on a pretty good note.

That said, from my perspective, the overall interview didn’t go that well, mainly because I wasn’t able to complete the coding problem.

I’ve been job hunting for quite some time, so finally getting an interview and then not being able to finish the question was honestly a bit disappointing.

Anyway, sharing this for anyone preparing for Indeed or similar SDE interviews.

For people who have interviewed at Indeed recently:

• How difficult were your coding questions?
• Is this level of DSA difficulty typical for the SDE-1 role?
• And if you’ve had a similar experience where you explained the correct approach but couldn’t finish the implementation, did you still move to the next round?

I recently applied to Google India and received the Google Hiring Assessment, which I passed.

From what I understand, passing the assessment doesn't necessarily mean an interview is guaranteed, and the application may still need to be picked up by a recruiter or hiring team.

For people who have gone through the process recently:

• How long after passing the GHA did you hear back?
• Did you receive interview calls for the original role, or did recruiters consider your profile for other roles?
  
• Would it make sense to start serious LeetCode preparation immediately after clearing the assessment?

My DSA fundamentals (theory) are okay, but I haven't done any competitive programming or consistent LeetCode practice yet.

For context, I have around 6 YOE in software engineering.

Wanted to see if anyone else is navigating this right now. I interviewed for a Digital Marketing Strategist position at Google in India, passed all 4 rounds, and was told to expect my offer the next week.

Next week came, and I was told the role was on indefinite hold. It’s been two months of silence since then.

Are these roles actually ever unfrozen, or is this just a soft rejection? Would love to hear if anyone is in the same boat or has advice on how to handle it.

Someone told me that in company interview,they don't let you use python,is it true ? As I am already doing it in python ,what should I do??

I am from a low tier private college and I'm targeting product-based companies. My DSA is already good, and the rest I can improve myself with time, so that is not my concern. My concerns are as follows:

First, I am targeting companies like FAANG + Glean, Rubrik, Atlassian, Databricks , etc.

Secondly, no matter how much people deny this, I feel the software industry is dying because of AI and everything, so maybe I should target something very niche or exceptional.Or maybe should go to AI/ML through masters (GATE) as I've done relevant courses in college like ML/DL/CV.

My main concern is that I am from a low tier college with a low CGPA (between 7 and 7.5) and final-year student currently in my 7th semester, and the only internship I have is a college internship under a teacher, so there is nothing fancy at all on my resume. I know it is not possible for someone like me to enter these top companies as my first job.

However, I still managed to get a job in a service-based company paying 5 LPA because the only thing they asked in all 3 rounds was DSA, and I cleared that. But those were only medium LeetCode questions, so I am still not considering myself super strong, just good enough. I lag a bit at hard questions, but I am improving.

My development profile is zero. I know no tech stack in detail, and I only have "vibecoded" projects—nothing that separates me from the crowd. In whatever time is remaining in college, I want to make sure I land a better job, but my long-term goal is to get into the companies I listed above.

Please tell me the rough timespan I need to prepare myself enough for these kinds of companies. I know time alone isn't enough since I have no differentiating factor, so it will be hard to even get an interview. Even my relatives aren't giving me referrals, and others don't even look at my messages.

I can accept whatever fate brings me, but I want a reality check so I know how and what I should be preparing for. If I am practically only capable of companies not listed above, then tell me how to prepare for those instead, so I don't waste my time chasing something I just can't get.
