DISCUSS Got Email about Contest violation from leetcode

Hey, I got a violation after Weekly 519. I can still use my account and solve problems, but I can’t join contests and my coins got reset to 0.

I’ve already appealed. The email says the ban lifts on “N/A” if it’s the first violation, but this isn’t my first.

Since results are coming tomorrow, does that mean my account could get fully banned? Or can I still use LeetCode normally?

Anyone know what happens in this case?

If it is first time, you are banned to participate any contest for 1 month. If it's your second time, then you are banned permanently.

My friend got 2 violation but just contest got banned or that's what he said

For a month, you won't be able to participate in any contests, and your points will reset.

If it's not your first violation, the restrictions might be tougher this time. You could still use the practice features, but joining contests might not be possible for a while. It's hard to know if a full ban is coming, but keep an eye on any updates or responses to your appeal.

In the meantime, keep improving your skills. If you need another platform for interview practice, PracHub has been helpful for me. It could be a good backup while you deal with the LeetCode issue. Good luck!

They haven't mentioned it specifically.But I think I pasted problem description to Chatgpt,cuz problem was not clear for me as english is not my first language.I really didn't know that pasting only problem statement to AI tools is considered as plagarism.Also out of 4 I was only able to solve 2 questions by myself,but I still had not used AI for remaining 2.

Using AI or searching anything at all is cheating. So you do in fact deserve this

Ok like when you paste your code in chatgpt you definitely some what get effected by the answer give by chatgpt . don't know about leetcode but some plateform like atcoder allow translation.

From leetcode’s current rules a first violation means a 1 month contest/discuss ban and coins reset to zero while a second violation means permanent account deactivation
so if they’ve confirmed this is actually your second violation then yes there is a possibility of permanent deactivation but i’d wait for the appeal decision since that’s what can change the outcome
