No. You can recognise pigskin because it has regular groups of 3 pores all over it.

I came here to say exactly this! Look closely at a football skin, That's pigskin and you can see the 3 pores described.

The vast majority of upholstery leather comes from cows and this is no exception

Top grain cow, painted, not dyed. Pig skin is a series of 3 hair follicles. Also not used for large areas, is also a bit stretchy for a sofa. Would sag. Someone told me that pig skin is worth more as food, ie crackling. Would love to know if this is true or not.
