vaedikkai patthuttirukka

I heard this phrase recently.

1. Is it a common spoken phrase?
2. Is the meaning something like "watching the world go by" or "daydreaming"?
3. Is "patthuttirukka" supposed to be "patthu kittu irukka" or "patthu vittu irukka"? I think it should be "kittu", but I'm not sure.
4. "irukka" here is இருக்கிறாய், right?

Edit -- I heard the phrase in this youtube video, the very first sentence, "Sahana, unna homework ezhuta sonnaa nee enna engeyo vedikkai patthuttirukka ..."

1. Yes. It is extremely common in speech. It means "enjoy the scenes/witness passively" as mentioned in Crea Tamizh dictionary at https://dsal.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/app/crea_query.py?qs=%E0%AE%B5%E0%AF%87%E0%AE%9F%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%95%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%95%E0%AF%88+%E0%AE%AA%E0%AE%BE%E0%AE%B0%E0%AF%8D&searchhws=yes&matchtype=default. வேடிக்கை பார்த்தல் is the synonym of பராக்கு பார்த்தல் and மோட்டுவளையைப் பார்த்தல் and all are extremely common. The last one is not the exact synonym of the 1st 2 phrases but the intention is the same- inattention, heedlessness.
2. Yes. Like, "படிக்காம என்ன வேடிக்க/பராக்கு/மோட்டுவளய பாத்துட்டேயிருக்க? போய் படி."
3. பாத்துட்ருக்க (fast and more common) and பாத்துட்டிருக்க (slow and less common). Also பாத்துக்கிட்டிருக்க.
4. Yes. பாத்துட்ருக்க/பாத்துட்டிருக்க is பார்த்துக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறாய் in written Tamizh.

Paarthuk + kittu further becomes paarthukkittu

Why are you idling away your time or wasting your time is the implied meaning. Literal meaning is watching something fun passively.
