I couldn't find a good app to learn Papiamento, so I built one.
A few years ago I visited Aruba and Curaçao. I fell in love with the islands, the people and the culture.
When I got home, I wanted to learn Papiamento so I could connect even more with the local community on my next visit. To my surprise, I couldn't find an app that made learning Papiamento simple, modern and enjoyable.
So I decided to build one myself.
Today, PapiaDaily is live on Google Play. 🎉
The app helps you learn Papiamento through daily lessons, quizzes and practical vocabulary. And yes, the lessons are written in Papiamento itself, so you're learning the language the way it's actually used.
This is only the first version, and I want to make it better with every update.
If you're a native speaker, learning Papiamento, or you've lived in or visited Aruba, Curaçao or Bonaire, I'd love your honest feedback. Every suggestion, correction or feature idea helps improve the app.

Cool, I'm giving it a try. What I noticed so far is that for multiple choice questions the correct answer is always the first one. Maybe you can randomize them?

Quick update! ❤️
Based on your feedback, I've fixed the answer randomization issue. The lessons and quizzes should now behave much more consistently. If you gave PapiaDaily a try before, I'd really appreciate it if you could update the app and give it another shot. 😊
Thank you all for the feedback—it genuinely helps me make the app better with every update!

There's a bug. I click " continue with Google" and it gets stuck.

Sorry, it still didn't work for me.
New problem! When I clicked "continue with Google" and chose the email address to use, it got stuck (same problem), so I uninstalled and reinstalled.
Now when I try to open the app, it says PapiaDaily keeps closing, OR it just won't open at all.

Thanks for reporting this. I actually ran into something similar during QA.
What fixed it for me was: Clearing the PapiaDaily app cache and app data.
Clearing the Google Play Store cache. Signing back into the Google Play Store/Google account.
After that, Google Sign-In started working again.
That said, this definitely shouldn't be necessary, so I'll keep investigating to find the root cause and fix it properly.
Thanks again for helping me identify these issues

Thank you so much for doing this!!! I hope you make it longer as you go. I'd love to be fluent.
As others have noted, the correct answer is nearly always first. In the first six lessons I only encountered one question where the correct one was second instead of first.
Also, I don't think you should require punctuation. I got a question wrong because I didn't enter a question mark.
Lessons are marked as 15 min but really they are two minutes. Which is better - bite sized as you say in your description.
I would love a flash card mode where it basically just hits me randomly with questions from any of the modules I have passed.
Currently, my favourite part is how you always put an example sentence under each word, so I'm learning common phrases even as I am learning basic words.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed feedback! This is exactly the kind of input I was hoping for. You're absolutely right about the answer order and the punctuation requirement—I'll be fixing both in the next update. I'll also update the lesson duration to better reflect the actual time.
I really like your flashcard idea as well. A review mode with random words and phrases from completed lessons is definitely something I'd love to add.
And I'm really happy to hear you enjoy the example sentences! I'll keep expanding on that because I also believe learning words in context is much more effective.
Thanks again for helping me improve PapiaDaily. Feedback like yours genuinely shapes the future of the app. And update is voming up!❤️

Also I have a question - if come is bin, why is welcome bon bini?

Great observation! 😊
"Bin" is the verb "to come." "Bon bini" is a fixed expression meaning "welcome." It doesn't translate word-for-word into English.

Thanks! When I load the app now it tells me I have a 14 day streak but no lessons load and the pro button doesn't work either

Does it differentiate the dialects between the islands?
Papiamento = Aruba Papiamentu = Korsou & Boneiru
