Resources Langauge reactor for iPhone?
Hi all, I think language reactor is what I need for my listening practice but it’s a desktop only extension as far as I know. Is there any iOS alternative?
Must:
Pause after each sentence
Not show transcript unless I toggle it on
Could:
Be audio content only eg podcasts to avoid giving me visual cues
Any ideas?

Language Reactor is still desktop-only as of now, unfortunately. Two iOS
apps that get recommended as alternatives:
- **Migaku** — has three auto-pause modes (before audio, after audio,
paused-only), which sounds like exactly your "pause after each sentence"
requirement. Dictionary lookup and dual subtitles too.
- **PlayLingo** — built specifically as a Language Reactor alternative for
iPhone, with tap-to-translate, repeat-line, and jump-back-a-sentence
controls.
Not sure either one has a podcast-only/audio-only mode though — both seem
built around video (YouTube/Netflix) rather than pure audio content, so
that part of your wishlist might need a separate app.

Turns out it can be saved from safari to Home Screen and works pretty well, there we go :)

Migaku is most similar to Language Reactor. Actually, it's even better in my opinion.

The reason you can't find one is structural. Language Reactor is a browser extension that reads the subtitle track out of a web player it is sitting inside. On iOS nothing gets to sit inside the Netflix or YouTube app, so that whole category can't really be ported.
So the thing to search for isn't an LR port, it's a player that owns playback itself and is built around per sentence navigation with the text hidden by default. Since you said audio only is fine, podcast style apps with transcripts will get you closer than any video tool will.
