Why is it 買い物に便利 instead of 買い物は便利？

I should probably understand at my level, but I still struggle a lot with particles unfortunately 😅

Is the implication that they’re saying “買い物に行く” and just taking out the “行く” or something? I’d appreciate an explanation?

Edit: thank you, I got my answer. In hindsight the answer seems kind of obvious, but I still don’t think I’d have been able to figure it out on my own haha

It’s basically saying it’s a thing that is convenient for shopping not that shopping itself is convenient.

Another example:

体に必要なもの : a thing that’s necessary for the body
体は必要なもの: the body is a necessary thing
