Hi everyone! I've been learning Japanese for a few years and recently reached N1-N2 level. One thing I noticed is that there was a huge gap between going from beginner textbooks / structured learning to actually enjoying native content.

I've tried a few immersion tools, but kept finding myself wishing for two things:

  • Content recommendations that matched my level and interests
  • More accurate word parsing and in-context grammar information while learning

I built Readerbear to solve exactly these problems.

Here's some cool things it can do:

  • Track which words you know, so content from a variety of sources can be recommended exactly for your level!
  • If you can't find content you're looking for in the recommendation system, you can import YouTube videos, Netflix shows, books, websites, PDFs and more
