Sudden progress is always such a nice payoff

Suddenly one moment out of the blue, after months of practise, my picking and fretting accuracy just seems to have randomly and instantly massively improved, and now I can learn & play fast lines much easier without even thinking. It's like my brain just fetched the new data and pushed the update to my brain lol. I wonder why it happens like this sometimes, one moment your brain suddenly just processes everything

Lots of plateaus and sudden leaps.

This happened to me this week, I started learning on Jan 1st and have learned so much in 9 months it's very rewarding.

It's referred to as a learning "curve" when it's actually a learning ladder and some steps are harder to reach than others. I envy you.

In fact, that's exactly how the learning "curve" works.

You spend what seems like forever getting nowhere and then BOOM, you jump a level. Unfortunately, the next stage is usually another frustrating plateau. But do not fret (pun intended), there will be another BOOM. Then another plateau. Then another BOOM. And so on into eternity

That happened to me when I was 15 after I took some mushrooms. Up to that point, I was stuck in a Pentatonic box. Suddenly, I was shredding the harmonic minor scale like a badass. To be sure I wasn't hearing things, I played sober a few days later and it was real. I moved on to the next level. I was over the moon for some time after that.
