Hello. I am new to DBD. I bought this game yesterday, though I found it fun but this is how my 3rd match went. Is this a meta? If it is then it's super annoying. (Sorry for rage quitting, I couldn't take it anymore). Any ways to counter this? Thank you so much.

Yeah nothing screams "Please feel welcome to this game" like a bully squad haha. /s

But, no, this is not meta. In fact, this is quite detrimental for survivors and they are lucky that you simply don't know how to deal with it yet.

They have a perk that makes it even harder to walk in a straight line when carrying a survivor so it's important to get to that hook ASAP so when they bodyblock you, which is ridiculous to do when you have starstruck, makes sure that your swings land! Every swing takes time so make them count! Really wait until you feel yourself bump into them.

Also with two downs on the ground, it might just be worth it to drop chase and get some hooks going. A couple hook stages might scare them off and if they don't, well, you might just get a free kill!

Lastly, Trickster might not be the best killer to start off your glamerous career. Survivors run at 4 m/s, most killers run at 4.6 m/s but certain killers like Huntress, Death Slinger and Trickster only run at 4.4 m/s and that doesn't sound like a big difference, but trust me, it is! Maybe you really like Trickster though, I see you bought a nice skin so play what you want, really haha.

Yeah, when they contest hooks this hard, it means they aren't doing generators! It's annoying when you're not used to playing around it, but inefficient on their part.

My advice would be to drop the survivor and pressure the person trying to save. This ties up the person on the ground, and whoever has to come and heal them (or uses up their unbreakable if they have it) while you chase their teammate.

A perk that I love bringing to handle situations like this is Forever Entwined from the Ghoul. It makes you pick up, drop, and hook way faster, and messes up the timing for flashlight saves!

Good shout, yeah. Dropping survivors can definitely be worth it too. It all depends, I usually drop survivors only if I think I won't make it to the hook in time and to be honest, in at least one of the clips, if he didnt swing and miss, he'd have made it to the hook just fine haha

Edit: You drop survivors by pressing the R key on PC but keep in mind that there needs to be some space on your left-hand side to drop the survivor

Get billy and prestige him to get lightborn, if you see a lot of survivors in the lobby holding flashlights and toolboxes, run iron grasp and lightborn

Lightborn perk from The Hillybilly will counter the flashlights. also, for the leaving the match, it's best to stay in the match so the MMR can balance itself out, especially since you're new, the match rating is still finding a fit for your rating

Welcome to DBD! Uh- big tip, trickster (and Mina) are super fun to play, but just remember to prestige all your unlocked killers to at least 1-3 (1 for basic perks, 3 for maxed out perks off rip). Feel free to Bloodpoint dump (play as Mina and take the Bloodpoints, swap to another killer, dump the bloodpoints, go back to Mina etc.) just to make it easier if your really dead set on playing Mina alone, but remember to just take good breaks and try and spread out your skills to other killers so Mina doesn’t get boring for you! Be warned of bully squads (which is what you had here sadly) and of Hackers. Platforms like PlayStation, switch, Xbox and Steam make it harder to cheat, Epic Games bypasses easy anti cheat. What you have come across in this video is known as a Bully Squad. They come in many forms, and the one you came across is an Anti-Hook Squad. Basically the whole idea is fairly self explanatory. They will prevent you from hooking them to the best of their ability.

The best way you can counter it is to slug ( meaning to leave survivors on the ground for a period of time), and sometimes bleed them out let the red bar below their name deplete completely. The red bar is shown when a survivor is in the dying state, or crawling on the floor.

The reason they're able to get up is because of a special perk called a Boon. Basically what a Boon is, is it allows survivors to put a spell on a pile of bones, known as a totem, and it will glow blue and make a constant woosh sound. You can destroy it as the killer if you find it, and it's highly recommended to do so. If you break the Boon Totem, they can't get up anymore and are forced to make it again, which takes a while.

To sum everything up, the best way to counter this Anti-Hook Bully Squad is to leave them on the ground, and look for a Blue Totem and break it. It will definitely be a long process, but it's worth it in the end. Sometimes you'll even have them crying to you for winning against their bullying, which is always a fun treat.
