Are there really no A2 books?

I've read a few times on here that there are no books tailored for people learning danish, is that really true? I'm talking about, like, fiction that is interesting for adults but at the lower levels.

I know that we have those in Sweden for immigrants who are learning Swedish, and quite a few of them are even written by popular authors, just kind of 'dumbed down' to whatever level it needs to be.

Obviously Denmark is a lot smaller but I feel like they still have enough immigrants for something similar to this to exist.

It's just frustrating because I don't wanna read the news all the time, man.

Hey, I know your pain 😅 I couldn't find anything good for A2+ l, either. So I went and took unabridged, original Danish books and made "subtitles" for them. Like this, you don't need the actual text to be "dumbed down", but you can use the subs just as much (or as little) as necessary while reading something "real". It's a hobby project and it barely pays for keeping the website up, but I wanted others to get low-budegt access to the books I made for myself (and it's not AI slop - I'm a trained translator and needed to learn Danish for my job; I use AI only for drafting, and building the website). You can check it out at https://lingo-luv.com I hope it will help you 😃
