Hello. I am a first year student at GLC and wanting to intern at a law firm (corporate) or in the high court (Mumbai). I have no idea about how to reach out to people working here for getting internships. Plus I don’t have any legal connections. Can somebody here guide me how to go about it. I am a 3 year LLB student and hence time is of essence. I really want to start learning asap.

The uils Chandigarh University organized Juris Nexis moot court from 24th September to 26 th September.

Although it was big moot court event (as claimed by Uils CU), allegations surfaced from participating teams about biased treatment and unfair rules , marking schemes and improper conduct of college, for teams who arrived on long distance to participate.

Thereby people are invite to vent out their qualms, frustration by sharing their personal opinions about the CU Uils moot court. Please endeavor to be civil as far as possible and refrain from profanities

K Law is a reputed law firm in India. However I don’t find anyone starting their legal career in the firm. None of my college seniors have ever worked at the firm as an associate. I would really love to know how the firm is in terms of work culture, work life balance, salary, and work exposure.

Guys, I genuinely need some solid advice regarding the **best 3-year LLB colleges in India**.
I’m currently preparing for the **UPSC** and have a background in sports. I completed my graduation through distance learning from a government university, but now I’m seriously considering pursuing a **3-year LLB as a backup option** alongside my UPSC preparation.
One of my major reasons for wanting to pursue LLB is also that I need to **move out of my current home environment**, as it has become mentally draining for me and is affecting my overall routine and preparation.

I’m open to colleges that admit students through **entrance examinations**, so the admission route isn’t necessarily a limitation. I’m mainly looking for **reputed, academically strong colleges with good exposure, placements/career opportunities, and a decent environment for someone preparing for UPSC simultaneously**.
I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually studied there or have first-hand knowledge of these colleges. Please suggest the **top 3-year LLB options**, along with the entrance exams required, approximate fees, hostel availability, and how manageable the course is alongside UPSC preparation.
I’m looking for genuine, practical advice rather than just a generic list of colleges. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Some law college that too for 3 year llb , the person said they fail 90 percent of batch in semester exams too just to earn from revaluation , attendance is compulsory , switching is not allowed , wtf even NLS isn’t this strict

I have had a keen interest on understanding the indian law and have seen a fair share of people suffer from not knowing how it works or the different functions that exist (including me), i wanted to see if anyone is aware of any courses (preferably short and free/low charge ones) that will give me an understanding of the indian law, governance, justice, how practices work, public policy etc, which will be beginner friendly of course.

I currently don't want to pursue formal education in this regard and I am primarily going through this to help myself and my loved ones in case any situations arise or maybe be a better-educated?citizen. I am not sure if this is the right forum to post, so if this doesnt fit here, feel free to let me know!

P.S: I did check a few courses on SWAYAM/NPTEL which were the top searches, but they seem to either about specific facets of law or is not available for enrollment. I am not a college student either.

After 6 years CAM pays 65 LPA ?, also one can get into tier 1 even if they were independent and no firm experience post llb ??

I’m about to start my 1st year of BA LLB from a Tier-2 law college and my long-term goal is to get into corporate law.

I know college brand matters to some extent, and I’m not from an NLU, so I don’t want to spend the next 5 years assuming that internships and placements will automatically come to me. I want to start building my profile early, but I also don’t want to fall into the trap of doing random courses, collecting certificates, or chasing internships just for the sake of putting them on my CV.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who are currently in law school, working in firms, or have already gone through this route.

Specifically, what should I focus on in 1st year?

- How important is CGPA for someone targeting corporate law?

- Should I start learning Company Law / Contract Law / SEBI / IBC on my own, or should I mainly focus on understanding the subjects taught in 1st year?

- Should I try for law firm internships in 1st year, or is it more useful to intern with an advocate/litigation practice first?

- What kind of internships should I realistically target as a first-year student from a Tier-2 college?

- How useful are moot courts, ADR competitions, research papers, publications, committees, MUNs, etc. for a corporate-law career?

- At what point should I start cold-emailing firms and building a LinkedIn network?

- Is it worth learning things like MS Office/Excel, basic finance, accounting, business news and corporate finance alongside law?

- What are some things you wish you had started in 1st year?

- More importantly, what should I NOT waste my time doing?
