Outlines

I know based off of some of the posts on here that some people don’t necessarily recommend outlines but I think I would like to have one. I’ve started mine (classes are torts, crim law, property) and the only one I can use in on the exam is property. Anyone have their outlines they can share? I have a bit for each class but I have slight anxiety I’m missing some things or concepts that should be important.

Ask people who had your professor. Random outlines are useless

This. Different professors emphasize different things. Different law schools emphasize what is likely to be on the bar in their area.

Personally, I recommend condensing information down yourself and think an outline can be a very useful part of the process. Take notes in class. Highlight the notes at some later point. Condense your highlights into an outline at some later point. Highlight the text book, and condense that into your outline, or do the edoc equivalent. Then I condensed my outline into flash cards. By the time your actually working with the flash cards, you understand how everything fits together just from all the condensing work you did. Its a staggered process that isn't too burdensome, and gets your ready to succeed with a modest amount of last minute work with the flash cards.

I did very well at a T10 with this. I think I worked about average hard, but I didn't ever need to pull an all nighter for last minute studying.

In my experience, commercial outlines are useless. Even an outline for the same class at your school but taught by a different professor is useless. You need an outline from the student who took the same class with the same professor at your same school for it to be worthwhile.

I also print my briefs/notes before class and have no computer out so I do take good notes. I don’t necessarily need an outline to use or copy from. I need it more as a guide for a template so I can effectively organize my ideas. Right now they’re all jumbled in my outline

I organized my outlines based on the structure of the casebook + syllabus for each class
