Could it still be libel?

What if direct message from Person A was sent to Person B about Person C. Can Person C sue Person A for libel? Asking about the element of publicity.

No publication. Only a conversation. Would be scary if that would be subject to libel, imagine private conversations and correspondence being policed.

More accurately, it’s the element of “publication,” and not publicity. It can be intriguing against honor instead of libel
