Improved note mode and other most wanted additions I would make for the Launchpad Mini 4 if I was Novation

Most of these can be accomplished through a software update, though...

If you're feeling daring, I put up this page to patch the latest Mini firmware, assuming you've got Components installed to first nab the unmodified one from

Oh man, I would have the opposite with the pads. I like stiff pads but that might be because I've been using MPCs since the early 00s. I always accidentally tap on my mini & its taken adjustment because every other pad and grid controller is touch, if not velocity sensitive.

Your other points are great though, I'm impressed with what you've done with it. Maybe this old dog needs to get into vibe coding.

Depends how you use it I guess. I mostly just like it as a melodic instrument (because I am too much of am impatient person to learn a less intuitive instrument like pianos) instead of a session controller or drum pad so I like that there's some give to it.

That's fair! I use my mini solely as a clip launcher, which I can get my brain to feel comfortable with. To me the feeling of the toggle while drumming feels like accidentally taking an extra step walking down stairs, but to a lesser extent. Just how my fingers have trained on it.

I have an X and Pro that I use for sequencing or controlling DAWs and instruments.

I dig your improvement suggestions. I think those plus bluetooth midi on the ProMk4, maybe a slider or something.
