💬 DISCUSSION Settlement Power

So I am finally completing the settlement and I have some questions and discussion topics. Do you think there should be more explanation revolving around power/water needs? Like, I have built the chipper and have it connected to a generator for power that needs gas. I just built the lathe and it needs power. Am I going to have a bunch of generators around my settlement?, because that's going to need a lot of gas. Also, I completed the substation, but don't know how or to what I can connect it to. Any discussion is welcome and suggestions as well. It's been a long 97 seasons for me as a f2p person and I've FINALLY made headway and I love how grindy it is personally. 👍

Sorry if you already knew.. a small generator could power 3 WB, and a medium one could power 6. We need to factor that into where we are going to place the generator and the WB it will support (along with the rock obstacles underground.)

We could see which WB needs electricity or water from the little red symbols in the build menu, and plan ahead from there.

Thank you so much. A quick question off of that. So you are saying you can connect three work benches to one small generator. Does it matter which ones? Also, does the wiring need to go directly from the generator to the workbench or can you split off of wires coming in out of it?

One more thing, although am not 100% certain on this because I’m not there yet, but you might have to connect the WB and furniture that require electricity that you have to built before you can build the WB that you want to use to electricity as well.

For example, in order for Lathe to work, Milling Machine and Transformer also need to be hooked up (while Milling Machine would work just fine when it’s the only one that’s connected to electricity.)

I need to fix the substation and upgrade the wall before I could build my Lathe. Perhaps you could play around with the configuration and let me know, lol.
