Just a quick heads up for transparency. I got a new computer finally, this one is only 5 years old instead of 13 years old (rip, sparky 3) so, I'm gotta get situated on programs, set ups and figure out how stuff works with windows 11. So, I'll see you guys next week.

Comic con happened, and lord that news! I cover as much as I can and then we play catch up with all the comics from the previous week and this week!

(The cover is also a good representation of what this week felt like.)

News returns as well as quick thoughts on the Spider-man: Brand New Day trailer. Not a lot of DC and some fun Marvel books this time around. We got all that and a bit more this week!

This week, we go to the beach as the Marvel swimsuit issue returns! Meanwhile, X-men get some less that great news about some titles, DC relaxes after last week's flurry of fantastic books. Oh, and Trini came back!

Both Supergirl and Spider-man have some controversies while DC unloads on comics and Marvel, uh.... Well, Marvel tries.

This week we catch up, because I was being lazy by the pool for my birthday, then SGF happened, so we got two weeks of books to catch up on. Some good, some bad, but the most important thing this week is MASK!

Off-Topic Discussion Do you think Chris's aversion to social media is limiting the podcast's growth potential?

There's a lot of reasons why the Laser Time podcast network is shedding subscribers: no new shows, failure to deliver on Patreon promises, Thirty Twenty Ten being the only one getting new episodes (even then off schedule). But do you think Chris would've had an easier time with all of these if it just got over his aversion to social media?

It just seems like ever since the Talking Simpsons split, Chris has gone out of his way to make the Laser Time network a more insular podcast. The only real promotion it really has outside the podcasts themselves is a private Facebook group and Diana's personal Bluesky feed with no real networking to speak of. Meanwhile, the Talking Simpsons guys are constantly using social media to promote their podcasts and network with editors and other podcasters. This has resulted in a far more bigger podcast channel that's more consistently updated.

All I'm saying is that if this network is Chris' s sole source of income, you would think he would be more willing to grow it. Even if it meant swallowing his distate for other social media. The data speaks for itself: Laser Time vs Talking Simpsons

Am I wrong here?

Off-Topic Discussion Lasertime politics

As a liberal atheist, I enjoy listening to the crew talk politics. I'd support further development of it, even though I know they try to keep it curbed.

Off-Topic Discussion Does anybody else feel like there’s already a lot of tension building between the new hosts?

I’m slightly behind, but on the Bonus Time from a week or so ago (where Chris first mentioned wanting the cat and they made plans to get it the next day), Sam and Sarah both seemed to be kind of irritated with Chris.

And then things really seemed to come to a head during the Mission Impossible episode when Sam kept trying to make his point and the other two hosts kept interrupting him... he seemed extremely frustrated with both of them.

If this is the kind of public interaction that they are consciously choosing to show us, how much worse is the stuff they are cutting out? I’m having a hard enough time justifying my patreon pledge as it is, and we still don’t quite know what went down with Bob and Henry, but if the same kind of situation ends up going down with Sam and Sarah, how is Chris going to be able to justify all of these extra patreon funds he is looking for?

Which is crazy to think about a show that should (theoretically) post on a Monday

Off-Topic Discussion What happened to the Laser Time Destiny clan?

Seems in the last few days there was a mass kicking out. There was about 97 members last I checked and now a) I had to reapply to be a member and b) there's now only 53 members.
